The latest addition to the University of Hawaii at Hilo campus is a four million dollar bookstore that opened in the spring 2013 semester. It is nearly double the size of the old location at 6,500 square feet, and offers textbooks, school and art supplies, logo apparel and accessories, computers, software and electronics, and a lounge area with free Wi-Fi. Tomorrow's top chefs are preparing top-notch meals today at the Leis Family Class Act Restaurant at the University of Hawaii Maui College. The restaurant is staffed by second-semester students from the college's Maui Culinary Academy, with a new group of students coming in each semester. The Education and Government eWaste Disposal Days program provides an opportunity for safe and environmentally friendly disposal of unwanted ewaste. All equipment collected is processed in an environmentally responsible method and recycled into commodity grade materials.
The University of Hawaii at Manoa Fall Career Fair was held Tuesday, October 23 in the Campus Center Ballroom. Organizers estimate that about a 1,000 students and alumni attended the event that had display booths and representatives from 76 national and local companies and government agencies. Approximately 700 Oahu high school students got an up-close-and-personal look at healthcare at Kapiolani Community College's first ever Health-E Fair. There were health screenings, exhibits and demonstrations.
