A Pentagon satellite detected an energy-shielded chamber beneath Romania's Bucegi Mountains. When an identical site in Baghdad activated simultaneously, world powers realized they faced an active ancient network. Only a psychic Romanian intelligence officer could breach the lethal barriers. Inside, holographic technology revealed secrets that shadow organizations had sought for centuries. The discovery triggered Romania's immediate NATO admission after years of rejection. The story comes from a single intelligence source with no verification, yet archaeological sites worldwide remain under military protection. Something is being hidden from the public - but what?

A replay from VISIONS Summit: NYC featuring Future Commerce Co-Founder Phillip JacksonWhat happens when you bury the essence of an entire civilization fifty feet underground? Live from VISIONS Summit: NYC, Future Commerce co-founder Phillip Jackson takes us on an archaeological journey through time capsules—from the monuments of the Westinghouse's World's Fair to NASA's Golden Record floating through space. Through the lens of these cultural artifacts, we explore a provocative thesis: that commerce is culture, and in five thousand years, only brands will survive to tell our story. What We Buy Buys Us BackKey Takeaways:Commerce is culture: What we buy literally buys us back, shaping who we become as individuals and societiesBrands as time capsules: Companies like Westinghouse and Panasonic have created some of history's most comprehensive cultural documents through their time capsule projects, and brands are the most central figures in these critical containersThe psychology of consumption: Repeated exposure through performance marketing mirrors the spreading activation theory that drives curiosity and attitude formationCultural permanence: In an era of synthetic reality and AI, time capsules may represent the last authentic artifacts of human civilizationIn-Show Mentions:More from VISIONS Summit: NYCWestinghouse Time Capsules (1938 & 1968) - World's Fair, Flushing Meadows, QueensTime Capsule location in Flushing Meadows-Corona ParkPanasonic (Matsushita Electric) Time Capsule EXPO '70NASA's Voyager Golden Record ProjectThe "Story of the Westinghouse Time Capsule" bookVoyager Golden Record contents and imagesThe supermarket image on the Voyager Golden RecordAssociated Links:Check out Future Commerce on YouTubeCheck out Future Commerce+ for exclusive content and save on merch and printSubscribe to Insiders and The Senses to read more about what we are witnessing in the commerce worldListen to our other episodes of Future CommerceHave any questions or comments about the show? Welcome back to The Food For ThoughtCast - It's time for Episode 113! After catching up a little, Melissa and Steve are taking you through the pages of a few of their cookbooks at home. We're asking each other.... What was the one recipe you bought this book for? What is your favorite part? What all have you actually cooked out of this book? Why did you buy it? Sometimes, not unlike some of our listeners I'm sure- we've purchased them for the title or the pictures-- and other times, the book has been a gift or had a special significance. Shout out to Half Price Books, though. They're the real hero. Find us in all the podcast places and if you're not watching along with the pod on YouTube what are you doing with your life? Time capsules! America is full of them ... and for America 250, Congress is even creating a new one. For this year's Fourth of July holiday, C-SPAN's podcast "The Weekly" presents a time capsule of its own. The contents: What American presidents have said about time capsules — or even put in time capsules. Like pictures of themselves. Here's what Senate historian Don Ritchie once told C-SPAN: "I was present in 1976 when we actually opened a safe that was essentially a time capsule that had given to the government in 1876. And President Ford came to the Capitol just before the Bicentennial, and opened the safe, we had no idea what was inside, there were pictures of Rutherford B. Hayes and his wife and other items that were donated at the time of the first centennial." Which other presidents have included pictures of themselves in time capsules? And what else have they put in? Find out in C-SPAN's "The Weekly." Because if you're celebrating the Fourth of July — and gearing up for America 250 — you'll want to hear all about American history, the American presidency — and time capsules. We've got a quite night alone, just you and I, with a head full of thoughts on the first Summer evening of 2025. We'll leave the lines open for whatever is on your mind, but also will be inviting the audience to leave Time Capsule Messages for people 100 years from now. There are some select reels to react to, which now include videos sent to me from the audience, so that's an interesting twist. Anyway, it should be a chilled out Friday, and then remember we are live for a Saturday Night Special, another family edition: Summer Memories, Music, and more! 9pm EST across all platforms. If you wanted to really summarise the times we live in, what items would you put in a time capsule, only intended to be opened after many, many years? It's a difficult question. To really define a time with just items alone can be tricky, but plenty have done it, and once opened, the stuff inside can be pretty mind-blowing. From age-old mysteries to futuristic constructions, let's crack open the most exciting time capsules, including a few we were never supposed to see!
