In this episode, we're talking all things grassfed whey—a supplement we recommend to nearly every client for good reason. From weight loss and lean body mass to metabolic and immune health, the benefits of whey are powerful and broad spectrum. We break down what whey protein is, how it's made, and why we choose to use a whey concentrate over an isolate. We dive into the synergistic compounds found only in whey concentrates that are low heat processed like lactoferrin, CLA, and immunoglobulins—and how they go beyond muscle to support immune resilience, gut lining integrity, and even antioxidant production via glutathione synthesis. We're thrilled to unveil Whey Protect—our upgraded version of Naturally Nourished Grassfed Whey, now with added serum bovine immunoglobulins to further support immunity and reduce inflammation. We touch on how our formula stacks up in purity compared to mainstream brands and discuss the Clean Label Project's recent findings on heavy metals in popular protein powders. Send us a text message and tell us your thoughts. The Caribbean's artistic traditions reveal profound truths about our history, identity, and resilience. Keisha Oliver,  PhD candidate at Penn State, joins Strictly Facts as we discuss Bahamian visual culture that challenges conventional understandings of Caribbean creativity. From the gendered practice of straw craft—where women wove not just materials but stories across generations—to the radical educational approaches of forgotten art pioneers, this conversation uncovers how visual expression became a battleground for decolonization. Horace Wright traveled between islands as the Bahamas' only art educator during segregation, while Donald Russell created alternative spaces where Black and white students could learn together despite societal barriers. Their stories reflect the complex migratory patterns that define Caribbean identity itself: birth in one nation, heritage from another, and contributions to a third. Most provocatively, Oliver poses an existential question gaining urgency as climate change threatens island nations: "How do we preserve who Bahamians were outside the physicality of the Bahamas?" This challenge demands innovative approaches to cultural documentation that honor indigenous and African diasporic traditions while embracing new technologies and platforms. By framing arts education as a form of Black radical thought, this episode reveals how cultural expression functions as political resistance and nation-building. The conversation ultimately demonstrates that art doesn't merely reflect Caribbean identity—it actively creates it, serving as both anchor to our past and compass toward our future.Keisha Oliver is Bahamian assistant professor of Art and Design at the University of The Bahamas, and a PhD candidate in the dual-title Art Education and African American and Diaspora Studies program at the Pennsylvania State University. As an artist-scholar whose research intersects heritage studies and arts pedagogy, Oliver's current work focuses on mid-twentieth century transcultural African diasporic art histories and archives. She currently stewards the Charles Blockson Collection of African Americana and The African Diaspora at Penn State and serves on several boards for arts organizations in the Caribbean and United States. Her research has been published internationally in the areas of museum studies, visual arts research, Bahamian art, and Caribbean art history.Support the showConnect with Strictly Facts - Instagram | Facebook | Twitter | LinkedIn | YouTube | Website Looking to read more about the topics covered in this episode? The Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County is a non-profit organization that advocates for the preservation of architecturally and historically significant buildings in Lancaster County. Danielle Keperling, Executive Director of The Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster County has been working with the trust since 2001. “We are a county wide organization that advocates and educates about the importance of historic preservation. It was founded in the late 60s as a response to the urban renewal, where all the buildings in town, in the downtown center and then also in the southeast portion of town were being torn down in the name of progress.” For Keperling, historic preservation is important for Lancaster County due to it’s history attached to the buildings. “It has, you know, over 300 years of agriculture or that agriculture architecture. So, there's, you know, there's, you know, from the very early 1700s all the way to modern times. And there's a variety of architecture that you can see just in a one block span downtown.” The trust has saved many buildings. They also work with property owners to protect historic sites. “So we do have easements on a little bit over 30 properties. So those are properties that we actually monitor and and work with the homeowners to maintain that go. That goes with the deed. And, you know, its input into perpetuity so it goes with the deed. No regardless of who the owner is. But if people call us and need advice on, you know, this is what we want to do the contractors recommend. We will definitely, you know, send information or, you know, I've even gone out to look at different projects just to help because that's what we're here for. We're here to educate and help people make good choices.” Support WITF: https://www.witf.org/support/give-now/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Not clear if this is independent of obesity etc. Can associated with a reduction of insulin sensitivity and also cachexia (with the loss of muscle mass is very important). The cancer itself may cause insulin resistance. Exercise can reduce the likelihood of getting cancer, improve the prognosis during cancer treatment and reduce the likely of getting cancer again. There is even evidence that exercise can improve the effectiveness of chemotherapy and reduce the extent of metastasis. Really remarkable stuff. A lot more research is needed to clarify these things. Today, it's one of Germany's most popular tourist attractions, drawing millions of visitors annually. Linderhof Palace: is a small but ornate royal villa in Bavaria, Germany, built by King Ludwig II in the late 19th century. Inspired by French Baroque architecture, particularly Versailles, it features lavish interiors, including mirrors, gold accents, and intricate frescoes. The palace is surrounded by beautiful, formal gardens with fountains, pavilions, and the famous Venus Grotto, an artificial cave designed for Ludwig's private opera performances. Linderhof is the only one of Ludwig's palaces he saw fully completed, and it reflects his love for solitude and opulence. The Paralympic Games are officially underway, and athletes from around the world have gathered to compete in Paris for an exciting two weeks of events. One sport that kicks off this Sunday is Men's Blind Soccer, which features eight teams playing at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. While the U.S. men's team didn't qualify this time around, they'll have a guaranteed entry in 2028 when the U.S. is the host nation. One of the current players on this U.S. men's team is Louisiana Tech's Cody Kirchner. Cody joins us to talk about the sport, his future with the U.S. team and what he hopes to see at this year's Paralympics.Carville, Louisiana was once home to the National Leprosarium, the only national colony for people with leprosy – also known as Hansen's Disease – within the continental United States. While the complex offered amenities like a church, theater and lake, many patients were taken there against their will and cut off from their families. Now, the site is home to the National Hansen's Disease Programs Museum, which honors the lives of the patients, preserves medical and cultural artifacts, and educates the public about Hansen's disease. Curator of the National Hansen's Disease Programs Museum, Elizabeth Schexnyder tells us more about the museum and what visitors will discover after recent renovations.  ___Today's episode of Louisiana Considered was hosted by Alana Schreiber.
