Weekly vegan news show, with headlines, commentary & discussion. Enough of the Falafel is a community of people who love keeping on top of the latest news in the world of veganism & animal rights. But there's one problem: We've had enough of all the "falafel" out there! With the 'Vegan Week' podcast, we aim to keep listeners (& ourselves) informed & up-to-date with the latest developments that affect vegans & non-human animals; giving insight, whilst staying balanced; remaining true to our vegan ethics, whilst constantly seeking to grow & develop. Each week we look through ten of the top news stories from the past 7 days in the world of veganism & animal rights. Afterwards we slow things down & home in on one topic in particular and pick it apart in more detail. If you spot any news stories that might catch our fancy, or have an idea for a discussion topic, get in touch via enoughofthefalafel@gmail.com.  Enough of the Falafel is also on Facebok, Tiktok & Instagram @enoughofthefalafel. Raising Hare was a short podcast series from BBC Sounds available in January 2025, based on a book written by Chloe Dalton. It documented a real life story of the author, who in the first lockdown of 2020, found an ailing infant hare (a leveret) in a field near her home. What follows is a story of constantly weighing up what the right thing is to do with a wild animal that needs help, but also is at risk from becoming too domesticated if Chloe took the 'wrong' intervention. The podcast is regrettably no longer available. At the time of recording it was, but it has now been taken down by BBC Sounds. Boooo! However, you can still buy the book (https://sherlockandpages.com/products/raising-hare-the-heart-warming-true-story-of-an-unlikely-friendship-by-chloe-dalton-9781805302711?srsltid=AfmBOoqteowtWPfdz9oUAlxSpEZhBe59Qrzg9fxmOwu2Mwl6DVkAaIdq, among other places) and listen to the audiobook (https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/Raising-Hare-Audiobook/B0D1RDP8CD). Whilst we'd hoped that listeners could access the short BBC podcast series for free, we nonetheless hope that this conversation about the story still holds some value in terms of entertainment, inspiration & insight into a view of animals that we might aspire to. And if not, you've still got Dominic & Julie's dulcet tones to enjoy! As ever, we love hearing your views on the topics under discussion (or anything else!) so do drop us your thoughts via enoughofthefalafel@gmail.com*************Enough of the Falafel is a community of people who love keeping on top of the latest news in the world of veganism & animal rights. In our fifth episode of this second series of 'Going Vegan', we speak to Elena who tells us about growing up in rural Spain, how an unexpected parallel between her twin sister's academic textbook led her to vegetarianism, and how the waters became muddied when a real desire to live as a vegan for moral and ethical reasons...was paired with disordered eating. We're incredibly grateful for Elena's vulnerability in sharing such a personal story, and hope that in so doing we can all learn from her experience. If however, hearing a conversation that covers the topic of eating disorders feels a bit much right now, then do of course find a different show to listen to.
