4th Imam Zaynul Abideen (AS) Wiladat Monday, February 3rd 2025 - Imam Zaynul ‘Ābidīn's legacy is in his du‘ās in aṣ-Ṣaḥīfah as-Sajjādiyyah. - The "aṣ-Ṣalawāt ash-Sha‘bāniyyah" is recited during zuhr and on the eve of 15th Sha‘bān. - Ahlul Bayt are symbolized as the "tree of nubuwwat" with deep roots and high branches. - Sūrah Ibrāhīm's verses describe the Ahlul Bayt as the tree's roots, branches, and fruits. - The Ahlul Bayt are the "location of risālah" and where angels descend. - Imam Husayn's stand against Yazid reflects Ahlul Bayt's noble attributes. - The Ahlul Bayt are the "mine of knowledge," with divine knowledge passed down. - The Ahlul Bayt are like "ships sailing on deep seas" in a famous hadith. - Following Ahlul Bayt ensures salvation, while straying leads to spiritual loss. - Ahlul Bayt's guidance is crucial, and they should be mentioned in salawāt. Al Aqsa is the first Qibla, prayer direction, of Islam. It is regarded by Muslims as one of the three sacred Mosques, and its surroundings Bayt al Maqdis has been blessed by Allah in the Quran. The hadith talk of the blessed one who prays in all three of the Masjids, something alhamdulillah I have managed to do. But this mosque, its precincts and the entirety of Palestine is today under threat by a foreign settler force that is hellbent on eradicating its history. My guest today argues that there is an urgency now in time to save this mosque, as the Zionist project comes to fruition and he calls for an intellectual reawakening of the ummah. Dr. Khalid El-Awaisi is from Hebron, Al Khalil in Palestine. He a lecturer of the pioneering field of Islamic jerusalem Studies. His main speciality is in the historical-geography of Islamic jerusalem. He is currently the Associate Professor of Islamic History at the Social Sciences University of Ankara and Executive Director of Islamic Jerusalem Academy . The renowned scholar Shaykh al-'Uthaymeen explains this treatise and provides valuable points of benefit.

On Dec. 17, Toronto's city council will consider a report on a new package of measures aimed at better protecting vulnerable community spaces—including schools, houses of worship, hospitals and community centres—that have become targeted by hateful demonstrations in the last year. And while the report doesn't specifically mention the Jewish community, the package does include $2.5 million to install protective traffic bollards and other street furniture to deter violent car-ramming attacks, which sources say was a specific request to help the downtown Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre. Since Oct. 7, 2023, Toronto police have responded to nearly 2,000 demonstrations related to the Israel-Gaza war, with more than 160 people charged for more than 400 hate crimes. Many Jewish leaders have expressed frustration that the authorities and the City haven't done more to stop these protests, where participants routinely harass and intimidate Jewish residents, business owners and passersby in Jewish neighbourhoods and elsewhere. Back in May, city council was asked to approach the province to bring in this so-called bubble legislation, which would establish a no-go zone around vulnerable spaces, but 13 councillors, along with Mayor Olivia Chow, voted it down and instead, council adopted a motion to draw up an action framework, and that is what's coming back to council on Dec 17. So what's changed between May and today? On The CJN Daily, host Ellin Bessner is joined by councillors James Pasternak, who has been prodding city staff to move, and Josh Matlow, who voted against bubble legislation back in May—but will be on side this time, even though he still thinks the bylaw doesn't solve the bigger problem. Imam Khalid Latif is a University Chaplain for New York University, and Executive Director of the Islamic Center at NYU (ICNYU). Under his leadership, ICNYU became the first ever established Muslim student center at an institution of higher education in the United States.
