The alternative, indie rocker trio from Toronto called ON released their self-titled album on September 16, 2022 via Indiestructible Records. Guitarist, Steve Fall, says is "a document of friendship navigating explores in pain, and hope. Looking at the world with a collaborative effort to document what we see, witness and feel through songwriting and chemistry as a band."ON creates sonic guitar-based landscapes and is centered around the undeniable chemistry of its core members:  Lucy Di Santo (vocals, bass),  Dan Cornelius (drums) and Steve Fall (guitars).  They released the single "Under dog," a song about hope, love, angst and dreams...the temptation to get back in the ring once more when the world no longer makes any sense and you have nothing to lose.Always pushing forward with an eye on the rear-view mirror, ON pays homage to its roots in timeless classics, post-punk, grunge, old-school funk and 90s college rock. Well-crafted songs with an attention to arrangement, groove and performance a la carte, ON's music connects with an audience seeking out impactful and genre-defying music. https://onmusic.cahttps://linktr.ee/on.music Subscribe to my monthly mailing list for the latest music news, updates and my next interviews and events:http://eepurl.com/gtw6PPPlaylist and podcast: https://djnocturna.comYouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/c/DJNocturnaListen : http://modsnapradio.com#ModsnapRadio #Postpunk #goth #Industrial #Dark80s  #DarkWave #Alternative #indiemusic

We didn't have the luxury of thinking about it that much. our general modus operandi is just doing stuff in a weird and heavy way and not do everything we've done in the past. We've been doing it for a while and you kinda get sick of the same old shit. We're just messing around."In the full interview Gareth runs us through the album in greater detail, talks musical experimentation and how it is used to effect on Deep States, the genres mish mash and how TFS make it work, finding the balance between genres, whether TFS are a political band or not, the upcoming tour and more.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Hamish over Zoom video! Hamish is the artistic counterpart to guitarist and songwriter Matthew Benthall. With producer Trey Kams at the helm, the   two friends created an entity built on musical stylistic experiments that pull from each of their respective influences. Hamish is a blend of uncanny sounds derived from hip-hop, R&B and dance with elements of jazz, indie and lo-fi. Matt's writing confronts his identity, his artistic place amongst the American zeitgeist as both an immigrant and a child of two nationalities, and his relationships with love and infatuation.Hamish is an Alternative/Indie artist based in Los Angeles, and the artistic counterpart to guitarist and songwriter  Matthew Benthall. Shortly after moving to Texas from the Middle East, he picked up the guitar, started playing in bands, and began to pursue music from the age of 12. Matt attended college primarily for guitar performance; between classes, an identity crisis, and gigs on a weekly basis, he was unable to fully navigate his beginnings with songwriting.  Matt dropped out and moved to the west coast to pursue a live performance career as a guitarist. In the wake of the COVID  pandemic, he pivoted his pursuits, with all gigs on hold he turned into his own writings and recordings. Without realizing his own departure primarily as an instrumentalist, Hamish created a sound built on musical stylistic experiments that pull from a range of influences, displaying a fresh approach to the new age of genre bending. Drawing from past experiences, Hamish shares his confrontations with love and infatuation, as well as his own identity as both an immigrant and child of two nationalities. He creates a space where comfortability and exploration can be achieved simultaneously. With each song, Hamish showcases his ability to create a beautiful contrast between a spectrum of concepts, sounds and emotions. We want to hear from you! When he said yes, Emmanuelle practiced for hours upon hours until “I had to dip my fingers in ice water because they burned so much.” Emmanuelle was seven when she started singing and became a young songwriter by the age of fourteen. That same year, she was diagnosed with severe Scoliosis followed by a back surgery. The emotional and physical change brought down her mental state. Her escape was listening to music by some of her favorites artists; a memorable time when she started to further develop her musical taste. As for her songwriting, Emmanuelle turns every day challenges and pain into her inspiration. “Every time something not-so-great happens in life I just think to myself, ‘It’s okay, I’ll write a song about it.’ Songwriting is my therapy. It helps me release any emotions I don’t know how to express just by speaking. That’s why my songs are so dark. It’s the side of myself that I don’t often show to other people. I'm an open book, but I don’t let everyone read the chapters.” Now, Emmanuelle is preparing to release her new focus track and video for “it’s not me,” which will be released in August. “I wrote ‘it’s not me’ when I was fourteen in front of a piano with nothing but a simple melody stuck in my head. I was angry and confused at something that now, is really not a big deal, but it was at the time. I’ve always had a personal struggle with indecisiveness, and it’s not because I’m a Libra (maybe it is, but I’m sure there’s another reason). I have an ongoing internal war between my head and my heart.
