When Ruth Ann Majauskas first launched her flower farm in 2020, she tried a little bit of everything—farmers markets, retail, subscriptions. But the magic happened when she shifted her focus entirely to wholesale… selling flowers directly to florists. What started as trial and error quickly evolved into a streamlined system with loyal buyers, consistent orders, and a workflow she could count on. Now, Ruth Ann runs a thriving wholesale flower farm business—and she's helping other flower farmers learn how to do the same. In today's episode, she shares how she built her florist-focused business model, what makes the wholesale florist buyer tick, how she finds and communicates with them, what software she uses to manage weekly orders, and more. She even reveals how she uses the same marketing framework I teach inside Farm Marketing School—tailored specifically to florists.

Speaker: Gregory Fox, Wayne State UniversityDate: Friday Lunchtime Lecture - Friday 24 January 2025Summary: Does international law place any constraints on a possible Ukraine-Russia peace agreement? While we can only speculate about its contents, two aspects appear certain: Ukraine will be asked to relinquish (at a minimum) territory now occupied by Russia, and it will only contemplate entering into an agreement because Russia invaded its territory. Professor Fox will examine the implications of these and other factors for the validity of an agreement.Gregory H. Fox is a Professor of Law at Wayne State University School of Law, where he is the Director of the Program for International Legal Studies. In Episode 381 of Hidden Forces, Demetri Kofinas speaks with global macro investor David Dorr about the evidence for UAP, UAP disclosure, how investors should think about UAP risk, and what effect different types of disclosures could have on their portfolios. David has been a long-time student of UAP (or what we used to call UFOs) and has continuously emphasized the need for the entire financial community to take notice of this market-impacting revelation and life-changing opportunity for humanity. In the first hour, David and Demetri discuss the history of and evidence for the UFO phenomenon, including well-documented, mass sightings experienced by both military and civilian populations in Washington D.C., Phoenix, Arizona, Colares, Brazil, Ruwa, Zimbabwe, and many other locations. They speculate on what may be the U.S. government's agenda in tightly controlling the disclosure of information related to UAP and how to make sense of this phenomenon if you reject the premise that all of this is some kind of government psyop or conspiracy to fool the public. In the second hour, Demetri and David explore the intersection of mystery cults and nazi history with UFOs and UAP, including the role of consciousness in helping to explain some or all of this phenomenon. David also explains how he and his firm think about and incorporate UAP disclosure risk in their investment model, the impact that further disclosures could have on the stocks of various defense contractors who may be benefiting from their possession of UAP materials, and how eminent domain language found in the UAP disclosure act could further complicate investors' efforts to capitalize on new acknowledgements in the next few years or even months. Army Colonel Karl Nell (ret) shocked Wall Street with the news that UFOs / UAPs are here, and the government is covering it up. On #TGTS, we interview financial analyst David Dorr, featured on Bloomberg News and co-founder of the trading firm DAM. Dorr will discuss the potential for a stock market crash caused by the White House's revelation of non-human intelligence and how Wall Street should prepare for this coming news to prevent a market crash and global economic meltdown.Join us on The Good Trouble podcast for an exclusive, in-depth discussion with Wall Street expert David Dorr on the potential black swan economic event that could rock Wall Street and cause a stock market meltdown unless we prepare the markets. With the recent whistleblower revelations of David Grusch and the @isalt speech by Colonel Nell on the existence of aliens & extraterrestrials, we are offering unique insights into the financial and legal impact on defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman. These companies are allegedly in possession of UFOs and UAPs as part of a government reverse-engineering program. We'll also explore the potential criminal liability of defense contractors @northropgrummanmedia and @LockheedMartin, who if in possession of alien craft, may have misrepresented company valuation to stockholders and engaged in possible whistleblower retaliation, which Boeing recently admitted to. This is a discussion that promises to be both enlightening and thought-provoking.The news of the existence of the UFO / UAP phenomenon and that aliens are visiting us have the potential to trigger a stock market crash on Wall Street and a worldwide financial meltdown. This is a topic that demands our attention and engagement. Unless market managers on Wall Street proactively plan for this event, the consequences could be severe. While The Pentagon and The CIA continue to hide this from the American people, the White House needs to face this head-on.Recorded June 28, 2024The Good Trouble Show: Linktree:  https://linktr.ee/thegoodtroubleshowPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/TheGoodTroubleShow YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheGoodTroubleShow Twitter / X: https://twitter.com/GoodTroubleShow Instagram: @goodtroubleshow TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@goodtroubleshow Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/The-Good-Trouble-Show-With-Matt-Ford-106009712211646Threads:  @TheGoodTroubleShowBlueSky: @TheGoodTroubleShowBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-good-trouble-show-with-matt-ford--5808897/support.

The game is to create a sense of urgency in the hopes that enough people will commit to extreme actions, so you can get what you want (which is power). According to Wikipedia, there have been 13 coup attempts in the United States since it won its independence from the British crown, plus an additional 29 rebellions and well, lots of moments of civil unrest. This Day in Legal History: Lincoln Signs the Second Confiscation ActOn July 17, 1862, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Second Confiscation Act into law, marking a significant legal development during the Civil War. This act allowed for the seizure of property owned by individuals engaged in rebellion against the Union. Unlike previous measures, it did not require due process or provide an opportunity for the accused to defend themselves. The act targeted Confederate supporters, intending to weaken the rebellion by stripping resources from those aiding the Confederate cause. The legislation also declared that enslaved people who escaped from rebel owners or were captured by Union forces would be considered free. This move was a precursor to the Emancipation Proclamation and signaled a shift in Union policy towards a more aggressive stance against slavery. The Second Confiscation Act was controversial, as it raised significant legal and constitutional questions regarding property rights and due process. Critics argued it overstepped executive powers and violated the Fifth Amendment.Despite these concerns, the act was a critical step in undermining the Confederate war effort and advancing the Union's moral and strategic objectives. It reflected the growing commitment of the Lincoln administration to not only preserve the Union but also to end slavery. The Second Confiscation Act thus played a pivotal role in the broader legal and political landscape of the Civil War.President Joe Biden is preparing to introduce proposals for significant Supreme Court reforms, including imposing term limits on justices, who currently serve for life. This marks a notable shift for Biden, who has previously resisted such reforms despite pressure from within his party. The proposals also include an enforceable ethics code for justices and a constitutional amendment to overturn a recent Supreme Court decision granting broad immunity to presidents for official actions. However, these changes are expected to face considerable challenges in becoming law, especially with Congress unlikely to address major legislation before the upcoming election. Biden's proposals come amidst a tight race against former President Donald Trump, who leads in public opinion polls. Congressional Republicans are expected to oppose the reforms, viewing the current conservative Supreme Court as a significant political achievement. The White House has yet to consult with key lawmakers about the plans, and Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has declined to comment. Biden hinted at these proposals in a recent call with the Congressional Progressive Caucus, aiming to garner support after a poor performance in a presidential debate. The Democratic push for Supreme Court reform has grown following several controversial rulings, including the overturning of Roe v. Wade and the rejection of Biden's student loan cancellation plan. Justice Clarence Thomas has also faced scrutiny for not disclosing expensive gifts from conservative donors. The court's decision granting presidential immunity for official acts has further complicated efforts to prosecute Trump. Biden criticized this decision, arguing it contradicts the founders' intentions. In response, Trump accused Democrats of undermining the Supreme Court and interfering in the presidential election. Biden to Propose Supreme Court Reforms, Including Term LimitsBiden seriously considering proposals on Supreme Court term limits, ethics code, AP sources sayFederal prosecutors in Alaska have identified 23 criminal cases with potential conflicts of interest involving former U.S. District Judge Joshua Kindred, who resigned following sexual misconduct allegations. The 9th Circuit Judicial Council reprimanded Kindred for creating a hostile work environment and engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a law clerk. Although the clerk did not work on cases before Kindred, potential conflicts existed in other cases.Bryan Wilson, head of the U.S. Attorney's Office's criminal division, detailed the conflicts in an email to Alaska's federal public defender. These conflicts included interactions between Kindred and several attorneys, such as a senior prosecutor who sent him nude photos and another attorney who exchanged flirtatious texts. These undisclosed conflicts could lead defense lawyers to challenge convictions or sentences from cases Kindred oversaw. The U.S. Attorney's Office had taken steps to mitigate conflicts since late 2022 by notifying the district's chief judge and reassigning cases from Kindred. However, Federal Public Defender Jamie McGrady criticized the office for not disclosing the conflicts sooner and noted that the recusal of Kindred did not eliminate prejudice against defendants. Her office plans to investigate all cases involving attorneys who interacted with Kindred to ensure justice.Former Alaska judge had potential conflicts in 23 cases, prosecutors say | ReutersA federal appeals court ruled that Minnesota's law requiring individuals to be at least 21 to obtain a permit to carry a handgun in public for self-defense is unconstitutional. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found the law violated the Second Amendment rights of 18- to 20-year-olds. U.S. Circuit Judge Duane Benton, writing for the panel, emphasized that the Second Amendment does not specify an age limit. The court upheld a previous ruling in favor of the Second Amendment Foundation, the Firearms Policy Coalition, and the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, which had challenged the law. The decision referenced the 2022 Supreme Court ruling in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, which set a new standard for evaluating firearm regulations, stating they must align with the nation's historical tradition of firearm regulation.Judge Benton noted that Minnesota failed to show that 18- to 20-year-olds posed specific risks that justified the age restriction. Despite this, the Supreme Court had recently upheld a federal ban on gun possession for individuals under domestic violence restraining orders, indicating that certain modern firearm restrictions could be valid without historical precedent.Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison expressed disappointment with the ruling, arguing it complicates efforts to reduce shootings and enhance public safety. This decision is part of a broader trend of gun rights groups challenging age-based firearm restrictions in various states.Minnesota cannot bar adults under 21 from carrying guns, court rules | ReutersTesla has replaced its long-time law firm, Cravath, Swaine & Moore, with Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr in a California class action antitrust case. This change, noted in court records, comes as Tesla faces allegations of monopolizing the market for vehicle parts and services, which has purportedly led to consumers paying higher prices. The reason for the switch was not disclosed, and neither Tesla nor the involved law firms commented. The class action case saw a significant development in June when a judge refused to dismiss the claims against Tesla. Shortly thereafter, Wilmer attorneys made their debut appearance for Tesla, continuing to deny the plaintiffs' allegations. Tesla and Musk have a history of legal representation by both Cravath and Wilmer in various high-profile cases.Musk is also represented by Cravath in a Delaware lawsuit challenging his $56 billion pay package, a case that faced a setback in January when a judge invalidated the compensation. Despite a shareholder vote in favor of Musk's pay in June, the Delaware litigation continues, with Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan recently joining the defense team.Wilmer is defending Tesla in another antitrust lawsuit in New Orleans, where it seeks to overturn a ban on direct-to-consumer car sales. The new Wilmer team for the California case includes partners David Gringer and Ari Holtzblatt, while the departing Cravath team comprised David Marriott and Vanessa Lavely.Tesla swaps law firms in antitrust case as Cravath exits | ReutersThe questioning of former bankruptcy judge David R. Jones, who resigned after revealing a secret relationship with a partner at Texas law firm Jackson Walker, has been postponed. The US Trustee's office is investigating to recover over $13 million in fees Jones approved for Jackson Walker without disclosing the relationship. Chief Judge Eduardo V. Rodriguez of the Houston bankruptcy court is deliberating on whether the questions about Jones' recusal decisions and his relationship with the attorney violate judiciary policy.Jones, who resigned last year, had a relationship with Elizabeth Freeman, who left Jackson Walker in late 2022. The deposition, originally set for July 18, is on hold until Judge Rodriguez determines the appropriateness of the questions. Jones' attorney, Benjamin I. Finestone, argues that questions about Jones' conduct are a distraction and that the focus should be on what Jackson Walker knew about the relationship.Jackson Walker's attorney, Jason Lee Boland, asserts that understanding the timeline of Jones and Freeman's relationship is crucial for defending against the US Trustee's efforts to reclaim the fees. Judge Rodriguez emphasized the complexity of addressing questions about judges' recusal decisions, stating that such decisions should not be publicly questioned. US Trustee attorney Laura Steele argued that Jones' public statements about his recusals allow for relevant inquiries. The case, known as Professional Fee Matters Concerning the Jackson Walker Law Firm, continues as the court navigates the boundaries of questioning a judge's conduct and recusal decisions.Bankruptcy Court Likely to Pare Back Probe into Ex-Judge Romance This is a public episode. My guest today is my husband. Christian Dorr. While listeners may find it interesting to hear his perspective on my story, he has a powerful story of his own!  When I got out of prison, I had no intentions of ever getting married again. I was done with men, done with all the whole mess. I was just going to live my own little quiet life and then in walks Christian Dorr. And it became apparent that living a quiet life wasn't in the cards for me. Chris is my biggest fan.  Head to https://www.youtube.com/@fierceconversationswithtoby to find all video interviews! Transcripts available at https://tobydorr.com/podcast-schedule/ Some of our fierce topics today:  [03:08] Every part of my story has always been with one foot out the door. My future was always a confusing arc. There was no way to predict where my next step was going to take me. [12:13] I took some nosedives along the way, got mixed up in drugs and alcohol for several years, and it destroyed a lot of my character and my will to live. It took me a long time, maybe 20 years to recover from just a couple of years of severe drug abuse. [13:23] God stepped in at a point where I was so desperate, 38 cents in my pocket, about ready to die and didn't care if I did. And he changed everything. That story is one that it would take another few episodes of our podcast to explain, but ultimately God healed me nearly overnight. [22:13] I don't remember where I read it somewhere about an old man, he fears no one. He lives his life day to day with his heart on his sleeve, and will say whatever is on his mind, because there's nothing to lose, because when you get to be old, you start realizing that every minute of every day is just, it's all borrowed time. [00:52:36] John Manard was everything I expected. I talked to him on the phone, read his entire courtroom transcript, and had insight from my wife, who was an ex-lover and friend of his. He lived up to all of what I expected. He was charming, handsome, polite, and respectful. I needed him to know and you to know that I'm not afraid of John Manard, your history, or the event and you going on the run together for a 12-day vacation in Tennessee. There's nothing to be afraid of here. About Christian Dorr: Boston-Born and Maine-raised, Christian Dorr worked his dad's commercial blueberry farm until joining the US Navy, which took him to exotic places as well as naval combat in Desert Storm aboard an aircraft carrier in 1991.  After the Navy, Chris worked on a commercial scallop dragger off the coast of Maine.  Chris claims to be the fastest scallop shucker on the East Coast, but substance abuse and a troubled marriage forced changes in Chris' life.  He accepted Christian principles in 1995 and listens to God's direction to this day. As a field service engineer for Intel, Chris traveled to Japan, Korea, Ireland, Israel and many more. On January 7, 1996, a historic blizzard hit eastern New York, covering the area with over two feet of snow. That evening, Thomas Dorr Sr., a volunteer firefighter, received a call asking him to come to the station and help with any emergencies that might occur. Tom agreed to go, but he never showed up.  The next day, several firefighters went searching for Tom. They soon discovered his body in a park close to his home. He'd been brutally murdered shortly after responding to the fire station call. For years, it seemed like Tom's case had gone cold. But then, in 2001, police announced that they had identified two suspects. Unfortunately, those people have never been arrested, and Tom's case still remains unsolved...  Anyone with information in Tom's case is asked to call the Westchester County police at 914-864-7700.
