Jessica in the Kitchen has a monthly reach of over 8 million impressions on just Facebook and Pinterest, and is visited by 544,000 readers on her website each month, and has over 250,000 followers on social media. Jessica in the Kitchen readers are from over 216 countries & territories, with her top 10 user countries being the United States of America, followed by Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, Ireland and India. Next is France, Sweden, Spain with Jamaica falling at #29. The United States makes up about 60% of Jessica in the Kitchen’s readers. As recently as January 2018, Jessica Hylton-Leckie, owner and creator of Jessica in the Kitchen won The Best Original Photography Award at Shiftcon’s Awards Ceremony in California, USA. Shakeel Ali, (revolutionary educator, social entrepreneur, conscious entertainer, gun violence survivor), and Amro Radwan, (technologist, social entrepreneur, youth mentor), met at Log Cabin Ranch Juvenile Detention Center while Shakeel was Director of Youth Development for a non-profit organization working to reduce the high recidivism rate of incarcerated youth. Born and raised in San Francisco, Mr. Ali is familiar with the diverse needs and services available to Bay Area youth of varying socioeconomic backgrounds. In 2004, along with previously incarcerated youth, they founded ASK Academy to utilize education, economics and entertainment in addressing critical issues such as high drop out rates, high incarceration rates, increased violent incidents in schools and women and children comprising the majority of the population under the poverty line.
