Bishop & Taylor discuss the increasing difficulties endured by mobile crane hire companies faced with road embargos. They celebrate the completion of construction of the Thames Tideway tunnel (and hope it stops rowers vomiting). And they wonder what housing minister Lee Rowley's MMC policy review might throw up.

Jess Harrold is joined by deputy editor Tim Burke and senior writer Piers Wehner to round up the week in real estate. Burke discusses his EG Interview with Tim Roberts, chief executive of Henry Boot, about the developer's first HQ move in almost a century – and addresses the state of the London office market, with insights of optimism from British Land's chief executive, Simon Carter. Wehner outlines Landsec's £1bn disposal strategy and how it plans to boost its development pipeline, and turns his attention to the government reshuffle, the return of Lee Rowley, and his inventive way of charting the lengths of tenure of housing ministers. Burke offers an update on WeWork, and how rivals are eyeing its sites that might become available, plus his thoughts on what might come next. Along the way, the discussion takes in Snoop Dogg, John Cleese, the Two Ronnies and music for funerals - but with the latter in mind, what track will Burke add to the EGLSM Certified Bangers playlist? https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0pBand693O5IhhaScVM6uZ

Ever felt like your marketing and copy was falling on deaf ears? No clicks, no buys, no nothing. It sucks when a new product launch or campaign doesn’t go the way you want. Your sales fall flat and so does your spirit. I've been struggling emotionally recently because of everything that's going on in our country. The Civil unrest, the growing racial tension, political leaders acting like children, and not to mention we're still in the ever-growing first wave of this pandemic... I'm stressed. I'm sad. And I don't know what to do. My friend, Lee, reminded last night that it's ok not to know what to do. I realized last night that talking about it with someone and expressing our concerns IS doing something. After our conversation, I was able to sleep peacefully last night. I hope this recording helps you feel like you're not alone, and that it's ok to feel scared or angry, or any of the emotions that you feel. Your experiences and your feelings are valid. If you're having a tough time emotionally, financially or physically, please reach out to someone you trust and talk about it. If you have nobody you can talk to, email me and I will call give you my number. junthegroomer@gmail.com --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/junthegroomer/support

If you don’t think this type of content works as its simplistic, intrusive and adds no value…. You’re right. Persuasive content is key to engaging with your audience, guiding them to purchase the right solution to fix their problems. That is why Lee Rowley is joining us for a little chat about how he does this for his clients. As his LinkedIn profile states – ‘I ride shotgun in your buyer's subconscious. Then I use what I find to create refreshingly human marketing that makes your competition irrelevant’ – If this isn’t enough to get your ears pricked I don’t know what is. In this episode we cover; - How to generate persuasive content - How to stand out and find the unique you - Creating content that resonates with your ideal customers - What errors we need to avoid in developing content Lee also introduces us to CopyBrand University. Lee’s own online platform which helps you develop the type of persuasive content you really need to be creating. But before all this I need to know - Lee, what is the most powerful Watch the episode video: https://youtu.be/H1PASNHB2vY Takeaways - Lee showed us where we all need to start with our persuasive content – looking at the desired results – from the customers perspective. Sounds simple, but can be tricky when you are too close to your own business. Remember, your business is not for you, it’s made for your customers. - We live in the connection economy. Focus on building those connections. Threading that needle that ties everything together first and foremost – not your bank account. - And finally, my favourite line from this chat – Assumption kills copy! Never assume you know what your customers are thinking. Ask, research and test. Your customers don’t stand still and neither should our content. For today’s episode, we highlight an interview I did on the After Dark Podcast with Lee Rowley last year. “When you travel somewhere for a vacation, are you the typical tourist with a camera? When was the last time you travelled to a destination and decided to NOT be a typical tourist? Imagine taking a break, stepping outside and drawing in a deep breath of sulfur gas and smoke. And doing so hiking about 12 miles up and 12 miles down a steep mountain twice a day. After Joel’s last trip, to Indonesia, he had an epiphany of sorts. He was so struck by the people and the culture around him that he determined he would never again take his “normal” life for granted, nor could he ever ignore the culture of the people where he was visiting. After watching men work for meager wages at jobs that robbed their health (yet these same men were happy as clams) he had to learn more and understand why. Jump into this experience with Joel to learn and understand yourself who these people were, where Joel discovered these people, and what their lives are like… and more so, what THEY are like. Your own life’s problems will seem insignificant. Why? You’ll see in the next few minutes. Joel’s take-a-way is… welp… listen to this podcast and learn. I assure you, you have never heard of anything like the people and lives described here. And then ask yourself, what’s your take-a-way? Located in and … Live from Singapore!” Support The Podcast! Buy Me A Coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/tapeyourtime Key Takeaways: “Traveling Experiences” - Met people in Croatia that are like family now; - Traveled to sulfur mines in Indonesia and saw how the sulfur miners work. Was about a 12 mile (and steep) hike to the top of a crater and then down to the mines. - Dangerous and hard hike that the miners do every night while dark. Did not realize the hard life lived by these miners. - They would transport the sulfur from the mines on their shoulders (about 250#), twice a day… 12 miles to the mine to work, 12 miles out, 12 back and 12 out again… then home at night to do it again in a few hours. - Pay was about $1.00 a day. - Miners live about 45 years, due to breathing in the sulfuric smoke & gases. - What struck Joel was how happy these miners are, and friendly, and puts one’s lived and problems in perspective. - Miners would craft figurines out of sulfur and enjoyed that, handing them out to tourists. - Was encouraged to try and learn their language and how they live. Learned empathy from this trip to Indonesia to see the sulfur mines. - When he travels tries not to be the typical tourist, instead tries to immerse himself into the world around him, the culture, the people… tries now to make trips longer to be able to appreciate culture better. Says that is how people should look at travel. After Dark Podcast: https://anchor.fm/LeeAfterDark Lee’s Website: http://leerowley.com/lee-after-dark/
Lee Rowley a renowned copywriter. He shares his insights and advice bringing copywriting into recruitment. Understanding what your audience wants to hear not what you want to say. How to approach writing blogs, social media, adverts and any forms for copy to attract the right audience for your business.
If you struggle with finding the right words in your marketing message, Lee is the man to go to. If you asked any of his client friends to describe him, they’d probably say, “Well, he’s just… Lee.” Odd. Messy. Eccentric. Hilarious (depending on your taste in humor, of course). And the finest copybrander this side of the Kuiper Belt. He works with some of the biggest names in the industry like Russel Brunson and Henry Kaminski Jr, to name just a few.
Boris Johnson’s Conservative party swept all before them at the general election, taking seats that have never voted Tory before and obliterating Labour’s “red wall” - but the hard work has just begun. Will he get Brexit done? And how does he keep these new Tory voters on his party’s side? Conservative MP and red wall pioneer Lee Rowley joins Arj Singh, Paul Waugh and Rachel Wearmouth to discuss Britain’s new political landscape. Make sense of politics. Host Maureen Zappala has an insightful and inspiring conversation with successful copywriter, branding and marketing expert Lee Rowley. Lee, a former artist, found a new "why" for making a mark in his world, which caused him to challenge the traditional methods of sales copy to take his clients even deeper into their message to create more powerful marketing campaigns.
The dramatic tale of how Lee's 10-year-old daughter Aria passed away from complications of Alagille syndrome, spent six solid months trying to drink himself to death, and completely changed his perspective on why he writes copy. He has worked with hundreds of business owners from Russell Brunson of ClickFunnels to the legendary marketer Dan Kennedy and Joe Vitale (author of numerous books and The Law of Attraction). But for Lee, it isn't about impressing other copywriters. It's about authentic, compelling messages that keep customers coming back. He went on to talk about how to cultivate long-term relationships with your audience, how to stand out as a copywriter and find good copywriters to hire for your business. Receiving a black belt almost 30 years ago back in 1991, the practice of Tae Kwan Do had a significant impact on how Lee thinks about success and excellence. Lee explains how martial arts, Eastern philosophy, and life experiences culminated in his non-formulaic approach towards writing copy and branding. Support The Podcast! In this podcast Interview Lee Rowley (http://leerowley.com/), copywriter, discusses how you can get clarity on growing your business by focusing on what it takes to generate good sales copy. Lee makes some excellent points as to do’s and don’t’s when it comes to copywriting: If stressed, a good copywriter can help you find a path back to simplicity. The writing is only 10% of what copywriting is about. It’s mastery of the 90% below the waterline that is critical. It is much more than “deja moo,” where one has seen this bull (use of standard templates) before. Humans are complex and good copywriters help business owners need to find the thread running through their business prospective clients can identify with. It’s the intersection of why you are ready to help with the client’s readiness to change. Being genuine and client-focused rather than seeing prospects as sources of income is critical for good copywriting. You have 2-3 seconds to grab the readers attention and the message needs to be relatively short since people don’t spend as much time reading as in the past. Marketing for the sale is vastly different than marketing for the ego of the seller (“Look at me! This is how I got my Rolex!”). It’s all about solving the customer’s problem. When it comes to copywriting, the shorter the better. One trick Lee has learned is to sit down and read the copy out loud. This will help find the ideal length. Lee works to empower his tribe rather than trying to be everything to everyone. When selecting a copywriter have a face-to-face conversation to see if the person is engaged and excited about your product and views you as unique if you want the copy to be an effective sales tool. Clients do best when they unlearn what they know about marketing since a lot of it can be formula-based. To get it right, the copywriter needs to spend time at the beginning (that 90% below the waterline). It gets to the core, the “why,” the copywriter’s client is working from. In the listening process Lee also does Avatar Emersion where he observes the client working with their client’s to get as rich a sense as possible of what the client really needs in terms of copy. He can do this by going to Facebook groups his client’s client attends to get insights into what people want. Also, he read Amazon reviews of books his client’s prospects are interested in. Lee finds that the more one listens to the client the easier the writing part becomes. In the initial conversation with prospective clients he asks them to talk about the crossroads where they have arrived. He then moves into the “immersion part” which is where the work is done, behind the curtain, so to speak. He looks at where they are compared to where they want to be. This gets into determining the ideal audience which leads to checking out various forums and groups. From that the appropriate avatar is created. For example, having arthritis and not being able to play with grandchildren. Listening in the various groups Lee picks up life-style issues that need addressed but aren’t necessarily talked about directly. This information leads to great copy. The interview closes out with Lee talking about the importance of treating well those who support you and can provide good information that gets to the heart of the client’s problem. Also, remember the good copy is a tool, a tool that exists in a marketing environment the components of which, e.g., social media need to be addressed as well. It all gets down to working both smart and hard and knowing when to stay and when to walk away. In this episode Judith Germain speaks to Lee Rowley on how to copybrand like a maverick. He sees copybranding as a connection forging, personal approach to brand marketing. They discuss how Socialised Mavericks believe in ethical persuasion and the need to cultivate trust. Lee explains how that can be done, including the need for avatar immersion. Judith and Lee ponder on the need to let go of the corporate mindset and the need to remember the worst time of your life to be able to truly empathise with your potential client. Copy writer and branding expert Lee Rowley has more than a decade experience writing sales copy and creating brands. But he’s the first to admit, his copy hasn’t always hit the mark! Following a personal tragedy Lee felt compelled to find an alternative to the churn style copy his counterparts were using. Ignoring the “experts” he started creating copy and brands that made real, deep, connections with the people buying the products he was tasked with selling. Over time this lead to Lee developing the Avatar Immersion systems, a series of connection points that helps business owners find the intersection between their own stories and the stories of their customers. Lee is passionate about encouraging businesses owners to tell their own unique story, understanding customers and their needs and the importance of making the customer the focus of your sales copy. Today's guest is Lee Rowley—entrepreneur, Copybrander, coach, author, mentor and now co-host of the podcast, Copy That Speaks. Lee is a highly sought-after copybrander. He describes what he does as helping brandpreneurs craft authentic, connection-focused marketing copy to attract their best clients. Here, he shares his personal story of how six years ago he and his wife lost their only child, 10-year-old Aria, to a rare genetic disorder. He talks about how his daughter's death shattered his life and the self-destructive path he lived afterward. But then he had an epiphany. He's now on a mission to keep Aria's legacy alive of Just Being authentic, and began to apply this motto to his business. Since then, he's dumped the typical, template-based copy and now teaches others how to use his Avatar Immersion Method to create authentic and meaningful copy so that entrepreneurs can connect with their customers in a genuine way. If you listen until the end of the interview, Lee shares how you can get a free copy of his upcoming book, The Avatar Immersion Method, where he teaches how you can do this yourself. So be sure to check that out! This week's episode of Free Exchange is on... you guessed it: Brexit. The Prime Minister may have dodged a confidence vote for the time being, but everyone seems to agree that she will struggle to get her deal through the House of Commons. What happens if she loses that vote? And can she go back to the renegotiating table in an effort to allay some of her colleague's concerns? CapX Editor Oliver Wiseman was joined by Stephen Booth, Director of Policy and Research at Open Europe, Lee Rowley, Conservative MP for North East Derbyshire and one of the backbenchers who has submitted a letter of no confidence in the Prime Minister, and John Ashmore, Deputy Editor of CapX, to make sense of an uncertain time in Westminster.
