The Jumbo Set is back as we approach the Summer Solstice, and Jake and Spenny are here to break down all the latest and greatest in Ravens news that we've gotten in the last month or so. Today was a big one in the news department, as the Ravens officially inked cornerback Jaire Alexander to a 1 year, $4 million dollar deal, worth up to $6 million in incentives. The guys get into the sudden nature of the signing, Alexander taking less to come to Baltimore and play with his former teammate in Lamar Jackson, what to expect from him on the field, and more. The guys also get into all that's gone on, and continues to go on, as OTAs and minicamps play out, including some thoughts on Deandre Hopkins, a candid press conference from Lamar, the defense taking shape under the tutelage of some new coaching, and much more. Thanks as always for tuning in, and we'll be back at you very soon! After a west coast victory, the Ravens returned to M&T Bank Stadium flying high, only to have their post Thanksgiving weekend spoiled by the Philadelphia Eagles. In a contest that started out hot for Baltimore, things cooled off quickly thanks to some untimely misses by Justin Tucker, a few critical stall-outs by the offense, and an inability to stop Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley late. Baltimore drops a late season game and sits at 8-5 with their hopes for the division slowly slipping away. The crew discusses the game itself, and what the Ravens need to do over the bye to ensure they close out the final four games strong.
In a much hyped matchup, the Washington Commanders came up I-95 to face off against the Ravens in Baltimore. The game mostly lived up to it's billing, as Jayden Daniels and Lamar Jackson put on a show, each team's defense made their fair share of plays, and the Ravens emerged victorious by a touchdown. The crew gets together to discuss what went right and wrong in this one, what we can take away from it, and much more. Thanks as always for listening, and we'll be back at you very soon! For a fanbase that's seen a lot of wild games, today's tilt with the Bengals in Cincinnati certainly is going into the pantheon. This one had everything except consistently good defense - Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson making amazing plays, critical plays by both defenses, boneheaded decision making by John Harbaugh and Zac Taylor, and a kicker's duel in the end that Justin Tucker got the better of. After this massive victory, the Ravens have gained ground in the AFC North, and hope to have left the Bengals for dead at 1-4. There'll be plenty of time to think about that later though; for now, they'll enjoy tonight's flight back good and plenty. Thanks as always for listening, and we'll be back at you very, very soon. Another week, another instant analysis, as the Ravens save their season from the brink in a pulse pounding win at Jerryworld. Jake, Spenny Brian, and Taylor break down what started out as a rout for the Ravens, and eventually devolved into a close shave as the Cowboys nearly came all the way back. Is the improved showing in the running game, better playmaking after the catch, and a more complete defensive performance enough of a comfort? Or, do the Ravens continued issues with penalties and situational execution portend their eventual doom? The guys get into all of that, and much more after the first win of the season. While there's not much to say about what we saw at M&T Bank Stadium today (nothing good, anyway) the guys are gonna try and put something together in the form of an Instant Analysis recap. In a game that saw Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers find the end zone, Marlon Humphrey come down with an interception, and Odafe Oweh come up huge with two sacks, Baltimore still found a way to lose to a Raiders team that they should've handled - and fall to the dreaded record of 0-2. The guys discuss everything that went wrong here, and if there's anything they can do to fix it with a touch schedule still looming ahead of them. Instant analysis is back, as the Ravens are now one week into the 2024 season, having dropped game one to the Chiefs in Kansas City. In a pulse pounding contest, Baltimore's youth along the offensive line showed, Lamar Jackson played like an MVP, and the defense mostly held up their end of the bargain, though it still wasn't enough to match Mahomes and company. The guys are here to discuss all the action, and give some thoughts on how things project from here for the Ravens. The Swordsman Hero motioned to the Jester, who muttered something to himself. The Woman readied an arrow, aiming it at the large man. As he gathered his composure, the large man looked at the Heroes around him to plot his next move. He slowly inched forward in attempt to not give away his plan of attack, but the Heroes weren't concerned. They launched their assault before the large man could make his move. The Woman let loose her arrow, forcing a reactionary dodge out of the large man. This caused him to duck directly into the path of the Swordsman Hero's blades. The large man brought his giant hammer up to block them, but was hit from the side by a small fireball. He tumbled to the ground, rolling to the ground to put out the flame gripping his clothes.
In one of the craziest wins in M&T Bank Stadium (man, there's been a lot of those in the last few years), the Ravens overcame bitter conditions, a herculean effort from Matthew Stafford, and yes, some self inflicted wounds, to snag an overtime win that gets them to 10-3. “Just before we got on the landing craft our officer said, ‘I want to tell you boys you're all good. You know your job. Get out there and get them. But one thing I want to tell you, most of you guys won't be coming back.' So you know what that meant.I said, ‘Sir, I'm coming home. I'm going to go do my job.' ‘That's what I like to hear,' he said. When we hit the beach, the water was red.Don't let anyone ever tell you they weren't scared. You were scared the whole time and you're on the beach and your buddy is yelling at you to help but you can't stop. One thing you have to do when you make it on the beach, you've got to go for yourself, which is hard to do, to get those pillboxes, cement that thick, three machine guns in there. In B Company, there were only 27 of us left out of the whole company (of 125).
Debbie Leech speaks about Psalm 23 and Brian Black is interviewed.

Today we wrap up our 90's Country Music Bracket. With the exception of more technological issues, this episode was filled with some classics. Sarah "The Vegan" (no relation to Wes "The Vegan") returns to the phone lines to settle a score as well as some other guests. Brian plays his guitar to fill gaps and a winner is crowned.
