Gutekunst has been very busy as of lately. At his press conference on Tuesday we heard from him and by saying not much at all he really said a lot about Aaron Rodgers future in GB, while also having a lot of faith in the future of Jordan Love. While the QB situation is not settled yet, the Packers are setting up for whoever at QB to have great players around them with plenty of salary cap space to make some moves to help make this team great in 2023. By restructuring four major contracts already the Packers now have $17M of cap space with other moves still left to be made that number could go all the way up to around $33M.
In this episode of the Packernet Podcast, Ryan discusses the Packers' salary cap situation and the potential of trading Aaron Rodgers. He also talks about the recent news of the salary cap restructure for Jaire Alexander and Preston Smith. Later on, he delves into the topic of fan loyalty and how it relates to politics. Lastly, he answers a listener's question about free agency targets for the Packers and who they should sign to fill their biggest needs. Learn more about your ad choices. It was always more complicated than just letting Jaire Alexander shadow the best receiver on the other team. Joe Barry has made enormous changes in approach and scheme for the Green Bay Packers and they're working! We dig into some of them why they've made such a difference as they face a stiff test against the Lions this week. Dave learns The Griddy as the Packers get their groove back at Lambeau field, decimating the Minnesota Vikings. Washington loses to the Browns. The Packers are in control of their own destiny, and look like a real football team at the perfect time. Can they flood the field again in a particular way to beat the Lions next week and be successful in the postseason? *** Packers Therapy was recorded prior to the tragic Damar Hamlin injury, which is why there is no commentary on it this week from Chris and Dave. On today's episode, Maggie & Perri can hardly contain their excitement as they recap an absolutely dominant performance by the Packers in their 41-17 win over the Minnesota Vikings. The girls talk about this team finally putting together a complete game, the game-swinging plays by Keisean Nixon & Darnell Savage, Jaire Alexander erasing Justin Jefferson and more. While there are many positives to take away, Maggie & Perri also share their thoughts on how the team can improve its offense in the red zone and the confusing usage of Aaron Jones throughout this season. All in all, it was awesome to see this team put it all together against such a big rival and enjoy themselves out there. We close the episode with a look at the playoff picture in the NFC after Week 17 and our final thoughts as we head into the final week of the regular season. On the Final Score today… It is January 1, 2023, and the perfect time to start an annual of beating the Green Bay Packers. Happy New Year everyone! Your Minnesota Vikings have traveled to Wisconsin to renew the tradition of sweeping our biggest border rivals. The first half has been brutal and the Vikings trail at half 27-3. Same at the end of the third, but the Packers scored starting the 4th quarter to make it 34-3. They have been behind by more and have come back, but can they do it today? Absolutely not. The final score ended up being Packers 41-17 over the purple. The Packers have shut down, Jaire Alexander in particular doing the smothering of Justin Jefferson all day so far. Kirk Cousins has thrown numerous interceptions, but mostly not his fault. One of them returned for a touchdown in a crazy start to this game. Will it get better in the second half? No, of course it didn't. We will have to see. …And we saw. The Vikings drop to 12-4 and the #3 seed in the NFC Playoff picture. Ugly ugly game by the Vikings as they lose 41-17. The boys recap everything that went wrong including Jaire Alexander getting into Justin Jefferson's head and making him the most irrelevant in a game he's ever been. This show was broadcasted LIVE on our social channels so we were able to bring on a special guest by the mysterious name of "Mr. Mo." He was clearly a friend of Eli's, but AJ and B-Rog were not big fans of his dramatically dumb and troll level takes. Tune in as we whine and complain about the day and hope to bounce back next week against the Bears. As always, Row the Boat, Ski-U-Mah and Skol Vikes.
The Green Bay Packers drubbed the Minnesota Vikings at home, 41-17, that wasn't even that close. They scored in all three facets of the game and looked like a complete team for the first time all season. Host Kassidy Hill is joined by reporters Tom Silverstein and Ryan wood to break down the biggest moments, like Keisean Nixon's 105-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, to the biggest names, like Jaire Alexander shutting down Justin Jefferson. They'll bring you updates from the locker room, provide analysis for where the team stands and take a quick peek ahead to a possible playoff push.
In Week 17, Kenny Pickett led the Steelers to a comeback victory by throwing a go-ahead touchdown pass to Najee Harris with less than a minute left to play, keeping the team's playoff hopes alive. Jarrett Stidham threw for 365 yards and three touchdowns in his first career start for the Raiders against the 49ers' top-ranked defense, and the Jets were eliminated from playoff contention after suffering their fifth straight loss. Tom Brady led the Buccaneers to a win over the Panthers, securing a playoff spot for Brady for the 14th consecutive season and clinching the NFC South. In other action, the 49ers also came from behind to defeat the Raiders in a shootout, and Jaire Alexander and the Packers successfully held Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson to just one reception in a blowout win. On this mini-episode of the Green 19 Podcast, Pete Dougherty and Eric Baranczyk bring you "After Further Review." They'll break down the biggest moments and players that stood out including Jaire Alexander, good and bad, after watching the tape of the Packers NFL record setting win against the Chicago Bears.
In the final hour, Dan Bernstein and Laurence Holmes discussed Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander's interception on a pass intended for Bears receiver Equanimeous St. Brown late in Green Bay's 28-19 win at Chicago on Sunday. They listened and reacted to Bears quarterback Justin Fields hold St. Brown accountable for his route-running on the play in his postgame comments. The guys then discussed the Bears defense's bad performance and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers' decline. Later, Bernstein and Holmes reacted to Wizards big man Daniel Gafford's monster dunk in his team's loss to the Lakers on Sunday.
Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel were joined by Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson to break down the team's 28-19 loss to the Packers on Sunday. Johnson also discussed the difference in the playing style between him and Packers top cornerback Jaire Alexander.
The Green Bay Packers have become the winningest franchise in NFL history after defeating the Chicago Bears. For three quarters, things looked like the same old story, with an offense that would have bright spots but no consistency and a defense getting shredded on the ground. But in the 4th quarter, the offense dominated while the defense pitched a shutout, leading to a 28-19 win. Host Kassidy Hill is joined by reporters Tom Silverstein and Ryan Wood to breakdown the biggest moments, the performances of Christian Watson, AJ Dillon and Jaire Alexander, plus discuss what this game means for the future of the Packers.
