The Gents opened the show with an informative announcement regarding the decision of voters of the United States (2:00). With an essential U.S. Presidential election coming up, EstoBro and TV want to ensure voters are doing effective research before heading to the polls on Election Day. With the episode releasing on Halloween, the Gents chose to celebrate the show in a nerdy fashion. Beginning with addressing the results of Venom: The Last Dance in theaters recently (17:00), this segment highlights the 'Good, Bad, and Ugly' of the aftermath of the latest comic book film. EstoBro also highlights the best video games to play for this Spooky SZN of 2024 (33:45). With a great deal of indie releases plus some remasters of classic horror hits, there is still time to get some scares for the holiday season. When TV mentions zombies from video games, it puts EstoBro in the feels of playing his zombie-themed Gecko Moria deck in the One Piece trading game (45:15), as the host shares a small history of zombie-themed decks influenced by popular trading card games. The show concludes with spotlighting some of the best costumes to wear for this Halloween (52:00), which included family-friendly outfits to raunchier outfits that adults would rather wear. A wonderful episode to enjoy this Halloween, and please remember to vote in this upcoming election!Theme song made by iamRavedadInteract with the Gents of the podcast on the following social media platforms:TwitterInstagramFacebookTumblrJoin the Discord serverSubscribe to the official playlist of the podcast

The US election is 2 weeks away, and we spotlight the various constitutional amendments and referendums being voted on at the state level: marijuana legalization, abortion protections, ranked choice voting, and more! We each share what's on our states' ballots, and how we're voting on these amendments! (And Laura reminds you to "look under the hood" on these proposals to better understand how they will actually work.) Why on earth are there bipartisan efforts to kill open primaries and ranked choice voting in Nevada?? It's only taken over a century, but several states are just now considering taking language about slavery out of their constitutions... But onto happier subjects: you know we love nostalgia, so we can't pass up the opportunity to talk about 90's Halloween and Spooky Szn culture! What is our personal relationship to Halloween, and why is Laura so obsessed with murder? We draw a connection between trick-or-treating and Andrew's fondness for snagging strangers' hotel room service leftovers. Did 90s parents inspect our Halloween candy mainly as an excuse to sneak in some sweet treats? Andrew will once again be the most popular house in his neighborhood with full size candy bars, so line up kids! We've got a slew of entertainment recommendations this week! 'Agatha All Along' on Disney+ (Pam), Ali Wong's 'Single Lady' standup special on Netflix (Laura), and Mario Party Jamboree! (Andrew) And in this week's installment of After Dark, available on Patreon and Apple Podcasts: Pam can't stop thinking about a Whole Foods Cake being emblematic of the state of the economy. Why have so many fast food restaurants rolled back their introductions of alternative meat products? Laura can't enjoy Del Taco anymore! Andrew will be rioting at his local Trader Joe's if they do away with his top favorites, so watch out TJs! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Spooky SZN continues, Slackers! This week we break down the “top 36” 80's horror flicks as ranked by Slashfilm. While I can't say I agree with the exact order of these movies - and admittedly some I've never seen - the top 10 is pretty solid. The 80's was peak horror in many ways, with not only slashers, but great tales of hauntings, monster movies, body horror, and worst of all - the evils of man. Some of the best directors of all time got their start in horror, so the list is full of absolute masters of the genre. Names like Cronenberg, Carpenter, Craven, and Cameron. Let's not forget Raimi, Romero, and Hooper. The 80's brought us Xenomorphs, Freddy, Jason, Pinhead & Chucky. But it was little Carol Anne that really scared us! What are your favorite horror films of the 80s?

Two hurricanes later, and the Gents finally return with a new episode. EstoBro and TV share the experiences of what the state of Florida has gone through (2:00), and especially shed light on a character that was made a symbol for the latest storm. With the hiatus being a little long, the Gents decided to do a vintage show starting with sports. The first impressions of the NFL season (19:45) is the first subject they break down, followed by the details of the Devante Adams trade to the New York Jets to be reunited with Aaron Rodgers. TV also wants EstoBro's take on the MLB playoffs, and why the paid have decided to side with the New York Mets to win the World Series. In the pivot to multimedia, EstoBro decided to flair this some with the nerd culture of the show (45:30). The Gents first break down the utter failure of Joker: Folie à Deux and why it has become the worst comic book film of 2024. Music is always a highlight of the show, so it was also important to discuss Pharrell Williams' Piece by Piece, his biopic animated with LEGOs. The podcast always celebrates Spooky SZN every October, so the pair also share about the new spooky series Agatha All Along and the anime Uzumaki that fits the mood of Halloween. The last piece of nerd news that EstoBro has to report is the massive data leak that impacted GameFreak and the Pokémon Company (66:25). TV decides to finish the show off with a 'Who has the munchies?' segment to shed light on Wendy's latest promotion with the Krabby Patty from SpongeBob SquarePants (78:00). EstoBro has found a new love for wine...by having a surplus during the 2024 U.S. Presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump (1:10). TV has had enough of this parody and would rather have Harrison Ford take the job. As funny as the evening carried on, it wasn't as funny as TV's fantasy football performance (14:45), as the co-host gets his piece in celebrating that football is back. The nerd world took a major loss this week with the passing of legendary actor James Earl Jones (35:45), most known for his voice as Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise. The Gents take the time to honor the legendary voice that defined their generation, and the many generations before them. With the transition to other film news, the long-awaited sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice debuted in theaters last week (45:35). It made a huge smash at the box office and set the tone for autumn and Spooky SZN. With Halloween looming, the Gents also talk about the inspiration for couples costumes for parties this year. All are included in this vintage episode of the EstoBro TV Podcast.
