Sandra and Isidra live in the state of Coahuila, in northern Mexico. The economy of this area mainly relies on the production of Candelilla, a plant that lives in the desert and finds its main use in the production of wax and cosmetics. In this episode, Roots visited with the Independent Office of Evaluation of IFAD the "Sustainable development project for rural communities in semi-arid zones: (Northern and Mixtec Regions) PRODEZSDA" and spoke with beneficiaries about the changes the project has brought in their lives. Since the death of her husband, Sandra has been supporting her family thanks to the production of Candelilla, which guarantees a stable source of income for her children. She tells Roots about how the provision of specific training has improved working conditions as well as health conditions in the area where she lives. Wir schauen zurück auf den großen Musiktrend, der unter dem Namen Indie-Rock die Shamble-Flächen in und um Bayreuth und Nürnberg Anfang der 00er unsicher machte.%lt;hr />Is this it? fragten die Strokes 2001 und lösten damit endgültig eine Welle von Bands aus, die "Nee, THIS is it" antworteten und selten dieses Versprechen halten konnten. Jedoch waren die Tanzflächen spätestens 2004 voll, die Fäuste flogen regelmäßig in die Luft und Bierspritzer waren kein Ärgernis, sondern wichtiger Bestandteil der rücksichtslosen Feierei. Und was ist geblieben? Beziehungsweise: War was? Diese Fragen sind der Ausgangspunkt zu Folge 8 unseres Popcasts DAS WAR VOR JAHREN, die den Titel "DIE KLASSE VON 2004" trägt. Wir wühlen uns durch die Bands und Veröffentlichungen, die gefühlt damals im Wochenrhythmus neu aufschlugen und sofort in den Plattenkoffer wanderten. Natürlich geht es auch um Trivialitäten wie den Namen (war es vielleicht in Wirklichkeit die Klasse von 2005 und was hat es mit der Klasse von 1984 auf sich?), dem Stil und dem Sound der betroffenen Acts. Dazu versuchen wir die großen Vier der Klasse zu benennen, reden über die Haltbarkeit der großen Hits und schauen uns eine typische Setlist aus der Indie-Disco vergangener Zeiten an. Am Ende mussten wir dann ganz schnell gehen, da das Konzert von Friends Of Gas und Candelilla anstand, aber dafür gibt es nochmal einen fetten Appendix, wo wir viele Fragen klären und unsere eigenen Fehler flugs bereinigen, als hätte es sie nie gegeben. Von der Laufzeit her war die Folge mal wieder eine echte Meisterleistung: 40 Minuten Vorgeplänkel, 1 Stunde Show und dann nochmal 30 Minuten Appendix, wo wir unsere vorhergehenden Fehler aufklären. Interessant, dass sich Herr Motor für besonders schlau hielt und ein Headset trug, das im Mikrofon eingestöpselt war, um für einen besonders guten Ton zu sorgen. Danach las er dann in der Anleitung, dass externe Mikros nicht funktionieren, wenn das normale Mikrofon eingeschaltet ist. Man merkt den Unterschied sehr gut im Appendix, wo der Herr König auf einmal viel lauter, deutlicher und besser zu verstehen ist. Die Shownotes gibt es wie gewohnt weiter unten, aber wenn ihr keine Spoiler mögt, wartet mit dem Klicken bis zum Ende der Folge.
