Ja, ek weet, hierdie boodskappe is wonderlike tegnologiese hulpmiddels; dis vinnig; dis gerieflik ... totdat dit dalk te vinnig en te gerieflik is...Vriende van my is onlangs met 'n lewensbedreigende situasie in hul familie gekonfronteer. Hulle het onmiddellik hulle eie kerk laat weet, sodat hulle kon bid. In reaksie hierop het hulle oor die daaropvolgende weke 'n handvol teksboodskappe ontvang, maar niemand het hulle op enige wyse bygestaan nie. Niemand het eers gebel om te gesels nie!Dit behoort jou nie te verbaas om te hoor dat hulle heeltemal verlate gevoel het deur hul sogenaamde kerkfamilie se onbetrokkenheid nie. Hoekom nie? Maar hulle het soos stoppels geword, hulle gaan verbrand. Hulle kan hulleself nie red van die vlamme nie. Daar bly nie eens kole oor om jou by warm te maak nie, 'n vuur om by te sit nie. Ek het onlangs opgelet dat astrologie skielik populêr geraak het. Kan jy glo dat bekendes kaarte raadpleeg voordat hulle besluite neem?'n Onlangse nuusartikel oor die onderwerp het berig:. Horoskope is tans so gewild dat 'n sekere astrologie-toepassing tot meer as 30 miljoen gebruikers het. Dan is daar na raming 100 miljard keer na astrologie-verwante inhoud op TikTok gekyk. Pasop! Dit is so maklik om in die versoeking te kom! Ek bedoel, dis sekerlik redelik onskadelik, net 'n bietjie pret eintlik. Nee my vriend, dis tyd om baie vinnig die gevaar raak te sien! Hier is God se siening oor hierdie hokus-pokus astrologie-besigheid: Jesaja 47:13-14 Jy het baie raadgewers. Is jy moeg vir die raad wat hulle gee? Stuur dan jou manne uit wat die sterre lees. Hulle kan sien wanneer die maand begin, so miskien kan hulle vir jou sê wanneer jou probleme sal kom. Maar hulle kan nie eers hulself red nie. Hulle sal soos strooi brand. Hulle sal so vinnig brand dat daar geen kole oor sal wees om brood te bak nie. Daar sal geen vuur oor wees om by te sit nie.God het die son, die maan en die sterre geskep om vir ons tyd aan te dui en ons kyk met verwondering daarna en sien God se almag, wysheid en oneindigheid. Astrologie is die “interpretasie” van ‘n “veronderstelde invloed” wat die sterre en planete op die mens se bestemming uitoefen. Glo my, dit is ‘n valse oortuiging.  Astrologie het sy oorsprong in Oosterse Afgodsdiens en is ‘n vorm van waarsêery wat uitdruklik in die Bybel verbied word. (Deut. 18:10-14). Margalith Kleijwegt reflecteert op haar persoonlijke en politieke verhouding tot het Joods-zijn in Nederland. Aanleiding is haar artikel Erfenis van angst, waarin ze de spanningen binnen de Joodse gemeenschap belicht en benoemt hoe kritiek op Israël vaak ten onrechte als antisemitisme wordt weggezet. Ze uit scherpe kritiek op het Centraal Joods Overleg (CJO), dat volgens haar onterecht claimt namens alle Joden te spreken – terwijl zij zich daar niet door vertegenwoordigd voelt. Ook de rol van de PvdA komt aan bod, een partij die ze ooit steunde, maar die volgens haar te ver is afgedwaald van haar oorspronkelijke idealen. In dat kader bespreken ze de motie van Kati Piri, die pleitte voor een duidelijk onderscheid tussen antisemitisme en legitieme kritiek op Israël – een initiatief dat volgens Kleijwegt belangrijk is, maar op veel weerstand stuitte. Daarnaast vertelt ze over haar betrokkenheid bij de actiegroep Joden zeggen Nee, waarin ze samen met andere kritische Joden een alternatief geluid laat horen over Israël en het Israëlisch-Palestijns conflict.
