It's an Indie Disco show all vinyl on the radio- this episode features loads of new releases and classic 12”s that still get the alternative juices flowing. I haven't liked an all or mostly all instrumental down beat, leftfield ambient type record in a long time. KIASMOS answers the call with II. I better get 1. Think classic Boards Of Canada for the quality, and guess what, I also spin Geogaddi! Music From Memory has given us another great compilation - this time Ambient Explorations In House & Techno Age - Japan 1993-1999. And my favorite producers out of South Africa deliver a masterpiece of music ‘The Devil Threatens Me'. And loads more. James is on tour with Johnny Marr in the United States of America, our last hope for freedom comes from Manchester - to mark this historic occasion I play James vs. Sabres of Paradise, it's such an exquisite piece of music- I think Eno's in there somewhere too! Today on the Indie Disco show where we are dancing on the left side, where abstract and avant-garde are right at home in the club, we bring bangin' 80's Synth-Pop 12” Electro Extended Dance Mixes and Dubs - personally some of the flip sides from this period offer so much more invention and cognitive excitement than the original album tracks, plus dubstep weirdness, ambient beauties and loads more. It's the Indie Disco show Música Eelectrónica from my travels around the Mediterranean featuring Spanish MegaBeat Records from Valencia / the closest I've found to Big Beat label Skint out of Brighton Warp. Musica Electronica from Coats Bravo - the Indie Disco show comes to you just south of Barcelona - this show is all sun drenched fun, with the Balearic sea as a background - the tunes lap up with smooth sea waves, it's chillout, downbeat, Spanish tinged folk, lots of Latin and featuring three from the mighty Orb. ¡Golazo! Is a new show on the Face Radio, it's an Indie Disco show that leans hard left into the abstract avant-garde. Expect the beats to be wonky, and tunes leftfield, not so tailor made as found objects in crates - vinyl records to make you dance, sway, sashay or run in place…Whatever your fancy. The Flaming Lips are on tour and I just saw them live last night, always a good show with trippy visuals. And it's summertime. This show captures a Lips vibe while also dipping toes into French Hip Hop and Minimal Trance. Featured artists; The Flaming Lips, Electric Würms, Saïan Supa Crew, Arsonists, Brian Eno, Kevin Shields, Yoko Ono, Kalacakra, Super Furry Animals,Arthur Baker and loads more. Adieu Chérie Françoise, though not someone who comes to mind with an Indie Disco show, she has influenced some of the ‘biggest alternative acts' along with having a DIY attitude way ahead of her time - she has claimed she wished her first recordings - songs she wrote - sounded like Jesus And The Mary Chain but the studio men couldn't sort out the sounds she envisioned in her head. Super Cool. There is also some French Kiss house music and eclectic EDM. Music; Chelonis R. Jones, Mellow, La Femme, Françoise Hardy, Air, Rinôçérôse, Kid Loco and loads more. The Groove's journey started in 2017, when he joined Capadi Rebels, a promotion agency located in Ibiza, Spain. Being a promoter, The Groove quickly familiarized himself with the party scene on the island, working for the biggest clubs such as Amnesia, Pacha, Hi Ibiza, Privilege, Eden. While working for such clubs, he was continuously observing DJs and was highly fascinated and motivated to one day start his own journey. However, it was not until 2022 when the Groove finally bought his mixer to turn his passion into a reality. In those 5 years, the early influences of the party scene in Ibiza were blended with the special underground scene of Berlin Germany, where he frequently partied for 3 years. Nowadays, both influences can be found in his DJ mixes, combining two different worlds in one sound, which can be seen in the highly diversified sets, a mixture of House, Tech-House, Deep-House, Afro-House, Afro-Tech, Indie-Dance, Indie-Disco – in other words everything within House and its subgenres. While inspirations are always present in his sound, The Groove have always preferred to follow his own path rather than to follow the industry trends, staying true to himself and to his selections. At the moment, The Groove resides in Berlin. He is a resident of Ibiza Stardust Radio, a leading radio station in the White Isle, where he came up with his own concept, Funk It Up, spinning funky and groovy beats, between House, Disco, and in-betweens. Besides that, the Groove regularly releases in Soundcloud another concept, In the Moment, bringing in timeless sounds, old and new, and revealing his playful and joyful character that surrounds him. Besides that, he created another concept, The Groove and Friends, which stands for the events that he has played in different venues. Beautiful set.

The Long Blondes were Britain's best unsigned band - until Rough Trade picked up the indie disco favourites, with Giddy Stratospheres among their standout tunes. But, as Kate Jackson and Dorian Cox tell The Boys in the Band Podcast, the Long Blondes had formed before any of them could play their instruments! We chat about how the hard work paid off in the practice room, how they put together their two respected albums, which cultivated a dedicated fanbase, and what it's like to be in the top 10 of the NME Cool List! The band were forced to split in 2008 when Dorian suffered a stroke and the pair also reflect on the impact of that scary time - and how, gladly, they've both moved on to make more music and art since then. Had the pleasure of seeing Wilde perform in early 2020 when they supported one of the station's bands, Chasing Deer who won the o2 Soundwave awards in 2019. you never know what you are getting with support acts but have to say these had real stage presence, a great sound and performance We've featured them before on the station and on the Indie Disco show as part of my interview series, I had to get them on for a chat. the Quote of the interview "We are the fast food of rock and roll" I disagree them make amazing music but can create it quick there is nothing that resembles a fast food sound here. follow them on facebook below https://www.facebook.com/wildeband/ Please subscribe and come over to the station duggystone radio we promote emerging artist and were also Freakin Global
