Welcome back, dear listener. Today's episode is a little bit different from what I usually do on this podcast. Because earlier this year, I did something quite a bit outside my comfort zone, and now I want to share it with you. I'll cut to the chase, the thing I did was I got on stage and told a very intimate and personal story about my own healing. It was an empowering experience, and I know that my story touched people and helped people, as I hope it will do for you too. Now, you might be wondering, how on earth did I get up the courage to step on stage and tell this story out loud, with microphone, like, how did I get to this point? And here's what I'll share with you. Now first off, I'm not suggesting that everyone needs to get up on stage and tell their story as part of your healing. I mean that might just not be your thing. But we all have something that we're yearning to do, some way that we are wanting to take our place in the world, some way that we're wanting to affirm being alive, and it's probably something that both calls to us and scares us a little. And for me, that was the case with speaking on stage. It was calling to me — and it also scared the crap out of me. And to make a long story short, the way that I gradually moved through my fear to follow my calling was by taking small steps in safe spaces with support that I trusted. I worked with a wonderful speaking coach named Chantelle Adams, shout out to Chantelle. And I practiced in a small group of the most supportive, kind and inspiring peers who were part of a coaching cohort. I am such a strong believer in group coaching, because it has helped me overcome so many different fears, and it has helped me to step forward into my passions in life in so many different ways. And that's also the reason why, this year, I have launched my own group coaching program to support people — perhaps like you — to heal from chronic pain so you can pursue your own passion. My group meets twice per month on Zoom and it is just the most wonderfully supportive, loving, kind, wise group of people. We come together, we talk about different topics in chronic pain recovery. We share struggles and triumphs. And we support each other. And if this sounds like something you'd like to experience, I would love to have you join us. And you can do that now, simply by enrolling in my signature journaling course, Writing to Release Chronic Pain, which you'll find on my website, www.annaholtzman.com/writingtorelease . And when you enroll in the course, you'll be invited to join us for two months of group coaching to test it out, and see if you'd like to become an ongoing monthly member. I would love to see you there, and if you have questions about the program, you can email me at anna@annaholtzman.com And with that, I'm now gonna to share with you an intimate story about my healing, that I told on stage. Last week I came across a fantastically contagious individual I didn't know I needed to hear, until I did. Truth be told, that while I was hopeful that the masterclass would reveal some unknowns to me as it relates to the world of speaking on stage, I wasn't expecting much. The inner critic was busy being critical. And thankfully the inner creative was also busy getting ready to be inspired. Which, after day 1, I definitely was. At the time of this recording, Chantelle Adams is hosting her free 5-day Speaking Extravaganza and she did not disappoint. https://www.facebook.com/groups/SpeakingExtravaganza If I could only share one thing with you that really left an impact it would be this... Your voice is an instrument and carries with it a message.

Are there things you've always wanted to do, but you keep making excuses not to? Well, there's only one thing holding you back. It's a four letter word that starts with an “f”: fear. A lot of times, this fear keeps us from ever truly knowing what we will enjoy. It stops us from even attempting certain things. For example, I used to be terrified of heights. If I would look down from a high place, my stomach would drop, I would start to tremble and I kept myself from experience anything that had to do with heights. One day I went rock climbing with a group, with the goal of overcoming a fear. When it came time to repel down the cliff, it was the most amazing experience. I had so much fun, and such a great time falling. I never would have known this was something I truly enjoyed if I had let my fear stay in the way. Today, I have a view from the 31st floor - and I love it. To go deeper into why we can't let fears stand in our way, and how we can let our “whys” be the reason we conquer them, I brought in an amazingly inspirational guest: Chantelle Adams. Chantelle Adams is a storytelling expert and public speaking coach. As a professional speaker, she has delivered over 800 speeches in just 5 years -- in cities including Paris, New York, Las Vegas, Cancun, Los Angeles, and New Orleans. She now helps others tell their stories and turn their message into a movement. Chantelle hosts an annual event called Shine Live for 180 women entrepreneurs, attracting speakers such as Oprah's SuperSoul 100 member Danielle LaPorte. She has been featured on the cover of Business Heroine, Event Head and Mindful Mavericks Magazine. She is also the founder of the Courage Collective Global Community, which is on its way to sharing 1 million stories of courage and raising $1 million dollars for charity. So to learn how you can conquer your fears, and create more courage in all areas of life that can lead you to change the world, download this episode now. WARRIOR OF COURAGE “If I don't make my why bigger than this fear, I'm going to make an excuse.” -Chantelle Adams Highlights - You need to be truly living, and not living out of fear. Fighting for other people is not a bad thing. Sit down and make a list of things you want to do but are afraid to. Every time you overcome a fear, it makes you more courageous in other areas of life. Don't be afraid of losing your resources. The best way to find how you can give back is to find the fire within you. You can gift through your work. There's no need to wait to give. It’s time to get your brave on! Throw away that nasty four letter word FEAR and take life by the horns. Speech Stylist and Professional Speaker Chantelle knew that she was destined to be a performer. When people hear a speech, they tend to remeber to the story rather than the facts. It’s all about making impact and spreading the word of courage. Chantelle understood the power of words and how speaking to an audience. She explains these SIMPLE ways that you can get more speaking engagements and build your story not only with the audience but with the host of the event: It’s all about the research. If you don’t do your homework, you are going to walk in blind. Use this time to filter what type of event you want to go to, who is going to attend and even how far away it is. Use this time to get all the facts BEFORE you make the trip. Build your relationship with the host. This is a networking opportunity so connect with the people who are there. It’s always about the long game when it comes to entrepreneurship. Stay awhile after the event, get there early and help set up, or ask how you can promote their book; do something for them! Make the appearance about them! This day all isn't about you, show the host that you want to help promote, sell a program or help sell their book. There are so many ways you can make the event about them out! Speech is a powerful thing. It can change minds and reach so many people. We're doing something different today and I really need your help! I was tagged yesterday in a post by my good friend, Chantelle Adams about an opportunity to make a difference and I'm passing that opportunity onto you today! Amanda Steinberg, the founder and superstar CEO of DailyWorth.com—the go-to financial site for women with more than one million subscribers— and one of Oprah's Super Soul 100 powerhouses has written a book, Worth It, which is a fresh book that redefines the relationship between women, self-worth, and money. Worth It shows women how to view money as a source of personal power and freedom—and live life on their terms. She wrote this about her current book launch: "My book Worth It ships on Tuesday, but I'm struggling to focus on it because of the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Greece and Serbia right now. Refugees stranded there due to European border closings are barely surviving this harsh winter, freezing in abandoned warehouses, train stations and parks. Half of the refugees in Serbia are children, 60% of whom are unaccompanied minors, according to TIME magazine. As a board member of One Light Global, a refugee relief organization, I hear regularly from executive director Zoe Wild when crisis escalates. On February 17th, Zoe and team are traveling to Belgrade, Serbia to provide direct relief and supplies. On February 7th, my book Worth It about money for women ships. The book's central message is that when women prosper, we're in a stronger position to help others. In that spirit, I want to place a bet in favor of women and humanity." She is matching the money that her book brings in up to $10,000 to give back to the refugee relief that is so needed right now and I want all of us to join her! To purchase Worth It, go right here! I've already purchased mine (plus an extra copy I'll be giving away on my Facebook page!) Let's pull together to make a difference today
