Based on a hunch from Dayton 24/7 Now News Director Becky Gulden, state and city law enforcement conduct a new search for Erica Baker at a local park that's never been examined before. Tensions and emotions rise as a discovery is made during the search, but will it lead to a breakthrough in the case?See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Time was running out for justice. It's been six long years since Erica's family last hugged their 9-year-old girl. Then, in 2005, just three days before the statute of limitations would have expired, Christian Gabriel was indicted on charges connected to the disappearance of Erica Baker. In this episode, reporters Bryn Caswell and Nathan Edwards dissect the trial that found Christian Gabriel guilty and whether justice was really served. Then, Erica's grandmother Pam Schmidt takes justice into her own hands.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
It's July 2004. The police's main suspect, Christian Gabriel, reveals important details connected to Erica's disappearance – and possible whereabouts. He even leads detectives to a wooded location outside of Dayton, Ohio. But police are left with more questions than answers. Christian's statements continue to shift and change as he is interrogated. Hosts Bryn Caswell and Nathan Edwards visit a remote warehouse and inspect the van police believe struck Erica Baker.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

February 7, 1999. Kettering, Ohio. Nine-year old Erica Baker leaves her family's home to take their dog for a walk. While a pair of eyewitnesses see Erica in a nearby park, she soon vanishes without a trace and the dog is found unattended. Six years later, a suspect named Christian Gabriel is indicted on the charges of evidence tampering and abuse of a corpse after confessing that he was in a van which fatally struck Erica in a hit-and-run accident before the responsible parties disposed of her body. Even though Gabriel recants his confession, he winds up being convicted on these charges and serves nearly six years in prison. Numerous searches fail to turn up Erica's body and following his release, Gabriel still does not divulge the location of her remains. Was Gabriel being truthful in his original confession or did something else happen to Erica? On this week's episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we explore one of the most frustrating missing children's cases you'll ever hear about. If you have information about this case, please contact the Kettering Police Department (937) 296-2555. 14 Minutes of SaaS - founder stories on business, tech and life
Christian Gabriel talking with Stephen Cummins "They started off saying, ‘You know, yeah, we'd love to build Capdesk. If we can get, you know, 15 percent of your company in warrants, we'll build it.' And once we built the prototype and our second funding round came up, I then asked them, you know, how much would it cost to hire two of you to go full time? And they gave me this ridiculous price. So then I said, 'You want to be equal co-founders, then? ... And they said ‘Yes. Wow!' And the first thing that happened with equal co-founders was, ‘Christian, We need to rebuild the whole platform.'"

This week, we have Amityville's own Christian Gabriel sharing a nice pour of Cascade Street Distillery's Chipotle Vodka. Christian feels his life began after high school when he joined the Marine Corps, dealing with the ups, the downs, the deaths of friends in Iraq, and coming back a different man. This led to him discovering painting as therapy, since using alcohol to treat PTSD is not a sustainable option. During Christian's darkest moments, painting made him feel that he did not need anyone else, just a brush and his imagination. Tune in to hear the rest of Christian's story!Christian Gabriel works and gives back to the community as well. He is involved with East Creative, an art collective, and Do Good Multnomah, a non-profit organization helping homeless veterans find housing. Christian is also a co-organizer of Rose City Wellness Week, which is happening this month starting on 17 Sept and runs until 23 September.Thank you as always to Cascade Street Distillery for providing their Chipotle Vodka! It was delicious, smooth, and has a definitive kick. If you are ever looking to spice up your salsa, try adding some of their Chipotle Vodka for a new kick.
