Conocido por sus estudios sobre la “Plaza de los Aparecidos” en Albacete, caso que ha abordado en programas de radio del misterio. Director del podcast “La Academia de los Nocturnos” John Dee – Apasionado por el misterio, crea el pódcast Incognito File, en el que comparte investigaciones nutridas de la prensa anglosajona y en colaboración con otros divulgadores del género. Esa misma inquietud lo lleva a dar el salto a la escritura de la mano de la editorial Guante Blanco, donde publica dos obras: “Los cuervos de Amityville”, en la que aborda uno de los episodios más oscuros y enigmáticos del terror contemporáneo, y una segunda obra que consolida su voz dentro del panorama literario del misterio “Sasquatch, la tribu de los hombres peludos de las montañas”. Javier Resines – Periodista especializado en Criptozoología y Criptobotánica, lleva casi cuatro décadas dedicado a la investigación y divulgación del fenómeno de los animales no reconocidos por la ciencia oficial, con especial interés en la casuística española. Es autor de “Círculo de Buscadores”- un ensayo novelado sobre los críptidos más interesantes que podrían poblar nuestro planeta- y colaborador habitual de diversas revistas y programas de radio y TV nacionales e internacionales. Dirige los blogs Criptozoología en España y Criptobotánica. Colaborador en el podcast Academia de los Nocturnos con la sección “Caminando entre Monstruos”. José Antonio Caravaca – Es uno de los ufólogos más reconocidos de la actualidad. Ha publicado más de un millar de artículos, colaborado en revistas especializadas como Año Cero / Enigmas y El Ojo Crítico, y participa en documentales y programas de televisión como Cuarto Milenio. En 2015 sus investigaciones sobre las diapositivas de Roswell tuvieron gran repercusión internacional. Es especialmente conocido por su «Teoría de la Distorsión», una propuesta innovadora que ha abierto un intenso debate en la ufología y cuyos artículos han sido traducidos a numerosos idiomas. Carlos Bustos – director y presentador del podcast El Centinela del Misterio (Metropolitan Radio). En sus episodios aborda temas de misterio, lo oculto y lo sobrenatural, así como crónica negra e insólita. Ricardo Sánchez – director de Dragón Marketing y Comunicación y director creativo, conocido por su trabajo como Risconegro, tanto en el mundo editorial como en la aplicación de arte y tecnología, la realidad aumentada y el Big Data para eventos y exposiciones. Es licenciado en Bellas Artes y cuenta con una MBA, especializándose en ilustración para la divulgación histórica y en dirección de proyectos de creatividad, arte y tecnología. Marcos Carrasco – Pintor, ilustrador digital y director artístico, licenciado en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Ha expuesto en ciudades de Europa, Estados Unidos, China y en numerosos puntos de España, con obras presentes en colecciones privadas y museos como la Biblioteca Nacional de Madrid y el Museo Miguel Hernández de Elche. Mercedes Pullman - Nieta de exiliados españoles en la URSS, se licenció en Filología Rusa antes de emigrar a España, donde amplió su formación con los estudios de Trabajo Social y una licenciatura en Antropología Social y Cultural en la UNED. Su labor profesional combina la ayuda social con la investigación, siendo la antropología su verdadera pasión. Actualmente es vicepresidenta de la Sociedad Española de Antropología y Tradiciones Populares, directora de la revista digital Antropología y Tradiciones Populares y del programa de radio Encuentros cercanos con Mercedes Pullman. Juanjo Sánchez-Oro – Historiador, licenciado en Historia Medieval por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y miembro del Centro de Estudios Mirobrigenses, perteneciente a la Confederación Española de Centros de Estudios Locales (CECEL) vinculada al Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) Con más de dos décadas de investigación, se ha especializado en el estudio crítico de las creencias científicas, religiosas y sobrenaturales a lo largo de la historia. Sus trabajos abordan mitos arqueológicos, los orígenes sociales del espiritismo y la evolución de la parapsicología, entre otros fenómenos. Es autor de dos libros y numerosos artículos publicados en revistas académicas y de divulgación sobre historia local y de las mentalidades. One year later, middle-class newlyweds George and Kathy Lutz move into the house with Kathy's three children from a prior marriage: Greg, Matt, and Amy. Despite George's irreligiousness, Kathy, a nominal Roman Catholic, requests Jesuit priest Father Frank Delaney to bless the home. Delaney arrives while the family is out boating. Upon entering the house, Delaney is swarmed by flies upstairs and hears a hostile voice ordering him to leave, causing him to flee. The next day, Kathy's aunt Helena, a nun, visits the house but becomes violently ill and leaves abruptly, confounding Kathy. The Lutzes' domestic life begins a sharp decline over the ensuing weeks: George becomes uncharacteristically volatile and abusive, and obsesses over keeping the home warm with firewood, despite Kathy's insistence that it is not cold. George recurrently awakens at 3:15 a.m.—the same time the DeFeos were murdered—while Kathy suffers disturbing nightmares. The Amityville Horror is more than a true crime story—it's a legend steeped in blood, fear, and the unexplained. In 1974, Ronald DeFeo Jr. murdered his entire family as they slept, later claiming he was driven by voices he couldn't escape. Just one year later, the Lutz family moved into the same house and encountered something far more sinister than its violent history—paranormal phenomena that pointed to possible demonic possession. From ghostly apparitions to forces that seemed to control the living, their 28 days inside became one of the most infamous hauntings in history. In this episode, we dive into the murders, the supernatural claims, and the dark questions that still linger about what really happened inside the Amityville house.

PASTOR CLAUDE STAUFFER On today's podcast, we welcome back Pastor Claude Stauffer of Calvary Chapel of Hope in Amityville, NY. Pastor Claude is a graduate of Hofstra University (B.A. Sociology) and Asbury Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity). He has been in ministry since 1986 and presently serves as the senior pastor of Calvary Chapel of Hope, a church he has served from its beginning in 1993. He served bi-vocationally as a pastor and social worker for 16 years. He is the author of over 30 books, the latest of which is a thorough look at the person and work of the Holy Spirit and has a vital radio ministry to the Northeast and beyond. Today we look at the first few chapters of Zechariah in order to understand the who, what, and how of being used by Him. Primarily, the key verse is "Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord " (Zech. 4:6). So much of what goes on in the church seems to point to a generation that thinks worship-tainment, a best-selling self-help book, and programs are the way to accomplish the work of God, when really, none of that works. We have really enjoyed what we have seen from Zach Creggers. Barbarian was fantastic and Weapons looks like it is going to be great. But what could he do with a video game movie? Especially one with as passionate of a fan base as Resident Evil. Well, as long as he sticks the lore he should be alright.Another long running horror property is the Amityville series. It lost the plot a long time ago - there have been comedies, stories about government conspiracies, and even a dildo movie. But it is still chugging along. The news that Johnathan and Vanessa Winters are taking a stab at an original Amityville is the most exciting thing to happen to the franchise in decades. But is it more exciting than the announcement surrounding the next Robert Eggers movie?Film fests give up a chance to cover short films. On this show, we talk about Shrimp Fried Rice, the story of a renowned chef who is about to face his biggest nemesis. It is an outrageous tale that is a reminder of everything we love about genre movies. It is laugh out loud funny and a nice change of pace.Baba Yaga from 1973 is much more serious. Arguably, it is too serious. But, it is also self-aware which makes it much more palatable. The film is unabashedly arthouse, name dropping Fellini while mixing animation and psychedelia. There also seems to be a message about consumerism and why supposed intellectuals are not as smart as they think they are. It is also a straight up horror movie with a witch, creepy S&M doll, and a whole lot of nudity. It is an intriguing, if not always entertaining, watch. It is a strange mix that is confusing, but also hard to turn away from. As if it is casting a spell on you…A surprisingly short lived trend was social media horror. Even to this day, there are plenty of movies made about it, but nothing has seemed to catch fire in a big way. So while Friend Request is not covering new ground, it also does not feel derivative. It is also really good; so why isn't it more popular?For everything it does right, the writing constantly does things to hold it back. It is inconsistent and overly complicated. It feels like they kept every idea they had. The end result is scary and surprisingly effective, but there are also many moments that just feel off. It also has one of the worst types of endings. George and Kathy Lutz moved into 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, New York, in December 1975, roughly one year after its previous residents were shot and killed in their sleep. They fled less than a month later, leaving behind their belongings and claiming to have been terrorized by demonic forces. This story served as the basis for Jay Anson's 1977 book, which itself spawned nine follow-ups, more than 60 films, and countless parodies and homages. A half a century later, what's it like to revisit the non-fiction (?) book that started it all? The Losers' Club finds that out in the latest episode of their Danse Macabre series, in which they discuss the books and movies recommended by King in his 1981 horror treatise of the same name. Losers Jenn Adams, Randall Colburn, Ashley Casseday, and Ana Marie Cox unpack the disputations, lawsuits, and defenses that color the book's history, as well as whether you can ever read a story as it was originally intended after its been fed through the pop cultural gristmill.

In the original Poltergeist a happy likable family, through no fault of their own, become the victims of a malevolent spectral force. In part two, the spectral force is there, but the happy likable family...is not quite as happy or likable. By adding too much Amityville and Shining to the mix, plus a tiny dash of xenophobia it misses the mark a bit. But there's still a lot to like about it.
