Names matter! Based on information gathered from the Social Security Administration, the “Top Baby Names for 2023” were: For Boys For Girls 1. Liam Olivia 2. Noah Emma 3. Oliver Charlotte Because names matter, I actually work hard at trying to remember names. I wish I were better at it. It is something for which I regularly ask GOD's help. While names in our culture sometimes have some importance attached to them, names in the culture into which JESUS came were of utmost importance! In the Bible, there are many passages of scripture giving us many names for JESUS. He has to have so many names to communicate the many beautiful truths about the manifold nature of his incredible Character. I believe that the scripture verse we will look at for the next four weeks is the single most important Old Testament verse about the names of JESUS. I'm praying you'll make plans now to invite someone to join you for the next four weeks of our Christmas Sermon Series, that I've entitled “NO OTHER NAME”. In this first message, we'll explore why the Bible tells us that JESUS is our “Wonderful Counselor” and discover the incredible, personal implications that name of HIS, has for your life. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Pastor Joe Still

What does peace mean? Is it a feeling when everything is calm and quiet? Is it a ceasefire between two enemies? As we continue our Christmas Sermon Series "Unto Us a Child is Born," we look at the last title used for the coming Messiah in Isaiah 9:6 which is "Prince of Peace." We need peace in our lives and peace in this world, but we must truly understand what peace is and be sure that we are not settling for or seeking a false peace. Then, we can fully trust Christ as our Prince of Peace.

Teaching Pastor Stephen Bramer continues our Christmas sermon series "Three Wise Women". This message in the series is titled, "Mary: A Woman who Believed the Impossible was Possible" and covers Luke 1:26-2:19. Originally preached at Waterbrook Bible Fellowship on Sunday, December 10, 2023.
In our sermon series around the themes of Advent leading up to Christmas, we explore absolute love this week. God is always faithful and always fulfills His promises. God's love deeply knows all of each of us, from the beginning to the end, and He constantly provides His life-giving power to us. Because of His love, He richly extends His eternal mercy to us and will reward a humble heart. Because He fulfills every promise, we can trust Him with everything in life. Just like Mary did in scripture when she was told about the birth of her son being the Messiah, we should glorify the lord and rejoice in our soul because of God's saving love. Is your faith at a point to where nothing matters more than answering the call of God? Have you set out to glorify yourself or is your soul magnifying the Lord and His saving love? Are you truly believing and placing your faith in the promises of God? If you've got questions or need prayer, we'd love to connect with you, answer any questions you have, and take time to pray with you. Just reach out today! Teaching Pastor Stephen Bramer begins our Christmas sermon series "Three Wise Women". This message in the series is titled, "Elizabeth, A Notable Woman in the Christmas Story" and covers Luke 1:5-56. Originally preached at Waterbrook Bible Fellowship on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
We begin the Christmas season with a sermon series diving into the aspects of the advent – hope, joy, love, and peace. This week as we look at the source of our true hope, we see that it comes from a God who has come to earth to be among us. Hope is the expectation of future blessings and the confidence that the best is yet to come. As Christ followers, we can have true hope because Jesus removes our past, reshapes our present, and refocuses our future. Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because He has come to His people and redeemed them. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant Daved, salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us. That's what brings us hope this Christmas – Jesus. If you've got questions about Jesus or want to know more about placing your hope in the finished work of Christ as you call Him savior, then reach out today. We would love to take the time to answer any questions you've got and pray with you. As always, you can take the next step by visiting burnthickory.com/next

Be Amazed That Jesus Identified With Us A. Jesus was in the form of God. He is exactly, and equally and eternally God. B. Though He was a king, He took the form of a slave. Jesus was not a clone. He was not God in disguise. He was not just a replica of a human being. He was a real flesh and blood man just like you and me. 2. Be Appreciative That Jesus Was Crucified For Us Jesus didn't die out of obligation; He died out of obedience. The cradle without the cross is incomplete. The cross without the cradle is ineffective. 3. Be Mindful That Jesus Is Magnified Over Us
This Sunday Pastor Jeff will begin a brief Christmas Sermon Series. We'll get started by looking at a part of the biblical Christmas story that's almost always overlooked, yet incredibly relevant to our lives today. If COVID interrupted your worship attendance pattern, Christmas is a great time to get back in the swing. Come home for Christmas!

You see, it is the ''who'' of Christmas that makes the ''what'' of Christmas, so important and the ''why'' of Christmas so understandable. Jesus Entered Into Life With Us In creation, God has revealed His power. In scripture, God has revealed His principles. In Jesus, God has revealed His person. The impossible is that man can become God. The inconceivable is that God would become man. The incredible is that Jesus is both. Jesus Existed In Eternity Before Us Jesus Expresses God To Us
