We trace his journey from childhood s*xual trauma and early exposure to p*rnography, all the way through marriage, relapse, and ultimately, healing. Together, we unpack how addictive patterns form not out of weakness or sin, but out of unresolved pain, disconnection, and a lack of agency.Aaron shares how addiction became his “solution” when life's weight exceeded his capacity to carry it. We talk vulnerability, passivity, and the hard work it takes to confront the pain beneath the behavior. You'll hear how learning to take responsibility, to embrace uncomfortable conversations, and to connect deeply with a community transformed his life—and continues to guide hundreds of men through recovery. This isn't a quick‑fix approach. Instead, it's about lasting transformation: addressing shame, building inner structure, and living within intentional, accountable relationships. Whether you're dealing with p*rnography, alcohol, or another addiction, this episode gives clear tools to identify your real obstacles—and begin building capacity, connection, and courage.Chapters: 00:00 – Introduction & Free Brave Co Courses 02:00 – Why This Series Matters (Addiction Series Overview) 05:00 – What Addiction Really Is: Point A to Point B 06:45 – Aaron's Early Exposure: Abuse & Childhood P*rn 09:00 – Signs You're Addicted Even When You Don't Feel “Addicted” 11:10 – A Spiritual Turning Point & Temporary Sobriety 13:00 – How Passivity Leads to Powerlessness and Addiction 16:00 – P*rn Is Not the Problem—it's How We Cope 18:30 – Building Capacity with Courage, Connection & Community 23:00 – Invitation to “Numb to Known” 12‑Week Group Starting Aug 2025 ABOUT BRAVECOWe live in a time where men are hunting for the truth and looking for the codebook to manhood. In the good old days of driving, we needed to make sure the mechanical things worked: Things like the engine, of course, the steering and the brakes. We were in charge of driving the car. Now, for better and for worse, technologies are moving in and taking over. Sensors, cameras, on-board computers, software. Those powerful technologies are mostly invisible to the naked eye. They give us directions and infotainment; they help to avoid accidents. The more advanced technologies can now deliver us from Point A to Point B without human intervention. That's quite amazing when you think about it. And more than a little bit scary. How do we know that the sophisticated hardware and software will operate safely every time we get into the car? The reality is that there is no such thing as a perfect system, at least not yet. But there are ways to minimize our risks. That's where QNX comes in. The company, based in Ottawa, Canada, delivers real-time operating systems for safety critical applications. As COO John Wall says, the modern car is becoming a robot on wheels. How can we know for sure that our robot remains our best friend, always looking out for our safety and security? John Wall has answers, today, on the Driving With Dunne podcast.

Starting a business is a big decision, and people do it for different reasons. Maybe you have a passion you really care about, or you just want more freedom in how you spend your time. For some, it's about doing something different from the usual 9-to-5 job and having control over their own path. But what does it really take to start a business—and is passion enough to keep you going? In this episode, I have Clara Ansel, CEO and Founder of Business Powerhouse. Clara shares valuable insights into managing business growth sustainably without burning out. The conversation delves into the importance of having a clear destination or 'Point B,' the role of mindset in business success, and practical steps to avoid chaos and inefficiency. Clara also discusses the significance of decluttering one's mind and surroundings, actionable advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, and her personal journey from corporate consultancy to empowering small business owners. Tune in to learn more! --- Listen to the podcast here: Starting and Scaling up a Business with Claire Ansell Welcome to Action's Antidotes, your antidotes to the mindset that keeps you settling for less. Today, I want to talk to you all about starting and scaling up businesses. Now, perhaps you have your reasons for wanting to start a business and, usually, it's about passion that you have or just the desire to have a life where you have a little bit more autonomy over what you do and when you do it, something other than the corporate life, but maybe you're looking at these processes of starting a business and seeing how daunting the process is, how much it really goes on, especially if you do end up with an investor that expects you to scale or if you personally have the desire to scale because whatever mission you're serving, you're kind of wanting to bring to more or more people. My guest today is Claire Ansell, and she is the CEO and founder of Business Powerhouse and she has some good thoughts about how we could go about managing this whole process without kind of burning out, without kind of ending up doing too much in a more sustainable fashion. --- Claire, welcome to the program. Hey, Stephen. How are you? I'm doing pretty well today. It's actually a nice 70 degrees here. Nice. That's good. Summer is coming. It always feels nice at this time of year. How are you today? I'm pretty good. It's been an exciting day with doing lots of –– actually like in the same realm as what you're talking about. We launched a new kind of series in our hub called Awaken, which is all about mindset so it's pretty exciting to be jumping on here with you today and kind of continuing the conversation. Yeah, and that's a good place to start. We can talk a little bit about mindset because I'm assuming you work with a lot of people who are either starting businesses or have a business and they're just starting to become overwhelmed as their web traffic, their client base, something kind of picks up. Yeah, and I think it doesn't really matter what phase of business you're in, whether you're a startup or a ten-million-dollar business, the reality –– or a hundred-million-dollar business. I mean, I've seen it right up to 600 million. I mean, at some point, a business owner is overwhelmed in chaos and facing that burnout. It's just the reality of the way in which we structure and grow our businesses. Now, given your role in your business, is there any way to prevent that burnout? Is there any way someone that's starting a business now can adopt either a mindset or a set of operational practical you want to start a business but you don't want to burn yourself out? Yeah, 100 percent, and I think one of the biggest pieces the business owners really miss is they don't understand what their point B is. We talk about point A is where you are today and point B is where are you going in the future and that could be at ...

In this episode, Bradley dives into the concept of "Team HQ." He lays the foundation for creating an effective business operating system (OS) that streamlines processes, reduces dependency on the owner, and adds long-term value to the business.Bradley revisits the roadmap framework introduced in previous episodes—Point A (where your business is today), Point B (where you want to go), and the plan to get there. A core problem many business owners face is a lack of systems, and in this episode, Bradley introduces the first step toward solving it: creating a central repository for your business operations.Key Takeaways:The Importance of an Operating System: Just like an iPhone runs on iOS, your business is running on an OS—right now, that OS is likely just you. The goal is to upgrade and externalize it.Creating a Centralized Hub: You need a "Team HQ," a digital space where all processes, documents, and assets are stored. This could be on Google Drive, Dropbox, or Microsoft Shared Drive.Blueprint OS Framework: Bradley introduces the concept of "Blueprint OS"—a structured approach to organizing business operations so they are easily accessible and replicable.Business Assets: How you do things in your business is an asset. These assets should be documented, organized, and stored in a structured way.Think Like an Acquirer: If you were to sell your business today, what would you hand over? Organizing your operating system now increases your company's value and makes it more enjoyable to own.Starting with Structure: New members in Bradley's program begin by setting up their OS architecture—defining folders, organizing existing assets, and creating an archive for outdated materials.Next Steps: In the following episode, Bradley will outline the core playbooks that should be part of every business's operating system.Action Steps:Choose a digital platform to serve as your Team HQ.Define a folder structure that organizes your business assets.Gather existing assets and categorize them within your OS.Set aside outdated documents in an archive folder.Tune in next week for a breakdown of the essential playbooks for systematizing your business. This episode is a must-listen for business owners looking to build a company that operates independently of them. In this episode, Bradley kicks off a new three-part series on the core problems that small business owners face. Building upon the previous three episodes, where he discussed the roadmap to business success, he now shifts focus to the most significant obstacles that hinder growth. The first core problem? Lack of clarity.Bradley explains how business owners in the $300,000 to $3 million revenue range often have a general idea of where their business stands and where they want it to go. However, this understanding is typically not well-documented, shared with the team, or structured in a way that ensures consistent execution. He introduces the concept of a business roadmap—understanding Point A (where you are today), Point B (where you're going), and the plan to bridge the gap—as the solution to this clarity issue.Resources & Links:Listen to the previous three episodes on building a business roadmap.Join Bradley at The Quarterly when you register at https://quarterly.blueprintos.comDon't miss Bradley's upcoming webclass, Operator to Owner, and save your seat at https://webclass.blueprintos.comNext Episode: Stay tuned for next week's episode, where Bradley will tackle the second core problem small business owners face.Rate & ReviewSubscribe to Above the Business for more insights from industry leaders who are transforming the way businesses operate. In this episode of The Above The Business Podcast, Bradley Hamner wraps up his three-part series on creating a roadmap for your business. If you haven't yet listened to the first two parts, be sure to check out the last two Friday episodes, where he covered Point A—understanding where your business is today—and Point B—establishing your business blueprint with a clear vision, objectives, and targets.Today, Bradley dives into the final and most crucial piece of the roadmap: the plan. He explains how to craft a strategic, actionable plan that directly addresses the primary constraint holding your business back. Drawing insights from business leaders like Alex Hormozi, he emphasizes the importance of identifying the biggest bottleneck in your business and implementing a focused strategy to solve it.Key Takeaways:Point A: Understand where your business stands today with a deep dive into your numbers, marketing data, and financials.Point B: Define where you're headed with a structured business blueprint, including a three-year vision, one-year objectives, and 90-day targets. The Plan: Identify the constraint that is blocking progress and create a structured action plan to overcome it.Avoiding Shiny Object Syndrome: Many small businesses try to implement too many ideas at once without giving any a chance to work. Bradley explains why fewer, more focused initiatives yield greater long-term success. The Power of Commitment: Any strategy or initiative needs time to work—at least 90 days, often six months to a year. Businesses that jump from one idea to the next without giving strategies time to take hold never see the results they want.Scaling Beyond $1M: Once a business surpasses the million-dollar mark, it gains operational efficiencies that allow for more initiatives and faster growth.Making Your Plan Tangible: Bradley recommends physically printing your business plan to make it more concrete and professionalizing it for better execution. If you're ready to take control of your business's growth and transition from operator to owner, this episode provides a clear framework to get there.Next Steps:Join Bradley's Operator to Owner web class, where he dives deeper into strategies for building a business that runs without you. In this episode of The Above The Business Podcast, Bradley builds on last week's discussion about defining Point A—where your business stands today—by shifting focus to Point B: where you want to go. He shares a structured approach to crafting a compelling business roadmap, emphasizing the importance of vision and goal setting.Bradley introduces the concept of the Business Blueprint, which consists of three key components:Three-Year Vision – A vivid and aspirational picture of where you want your business to be in three years.One-Year Objectives – The major milestones and goals to achieve within the next year to move toward that vision.90-Day Priorities – Short-term, high-impact actions that create momentum and prevent stagnation.Too often, business owners get stuck in a cycle of repeating the same goals year after year, creating a Groundhog Day effect. In today's episode of The Above The Business Podcast, Bradley dives into the importance of understanding exactly where your business is today—your Point A. Next Friday, he'll discuss Point B: where you want your business to go.Bradley shares how he first encountered this concept in his favorite business book, The Road Less Stupid by Keith Cunningham. He emphasizes the significance of truly grasping your business's current state, rather than giving it mere lip service.Key topics covered in this episode:Understanding financials: monthly revenue run rate, annual revenue trends, and profitability. The Rule of 40: year-over-year growth rate plus profitability percentage.Marketing insights: cost per lead, customer acquisition cost (CAC), and customer value.Sales pipeline metrics: lead conversion cycle, number of leads per sale, and overall sales data.Culture and operational efficiency: revenue per employee and business scalability.Bradley illustrates these points with real-world examples of businesses scaling from six to eight figures, showing the necessity of data-driven decision-making.You can evaluate your own business metrics with Bradley's free tool. Adi Jaffe grew up as a privileged kid, first in Israel, then in Southern California. So how did he go from being a “good little jewish boy” (as he describes himself!) to finding himself up with a SWAT team in his face one day after waking up from a crystal-meth and GHB induced haze?Adi's story is a cautionary tale of getting caught up in addiction… of trying to “escape” living in reality… of trying to “fit in.” Once he began selling drugs, his life devolved quickly… he went from being a typical college student to finding himself literally banned from Beverly Hills, and living a life he likens to the one depicted in the movie, Scarface. He's been hogtied and robbed. He found himself carrying a sawed-off shotgun. His life - to put it simply - was a mess. And it only got worse with that SWAT team, which was followed by an arrest that landed him in jail for over a year.Fast forward to today: Adi has a beautiful life. He lives with his beautiful wife and adorable children in the Hollywood Hills. He helps people fix their lives, using the Ph.D. he earned from UCLA's top-rated doctoral program in psychology (where he graduated with honors!). He's a best-selling author with his first book The Abstinence Myth, and just released his second book Unhooked: Free Yourself From Addiction Forever. So how on earth did this powerhouse move from POINT A to POINT B with such drastic improvement? And could he help YOU do it too?Tune in to hear the whole story… and why he believes that gratitude played a central role in his transformation and daily glow-up.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands
In this episode of The Above The Business Podcast, Bradley Hamner dives into the critical importance of having a business blueprint. Just like building a house requires a well-thought-out architectural plan, growing a business requires a clear roadmap. Without it, business owners often find themselves working hard without a clear direction.Bradley breaks down the essential components of a business blueprint and how to create one effectively. He introduces a four-step framework for success:Know Where You Are (Point A): Take an honest look at your current business situation, including metrics, financials, team structure, and more.Envision Your Compelling Future (Point B): Define what success looks like three years from now, creating a structured vision for your business.Make a Plan: Outline the steps necessary to get from Point A to Point B, ensuring realistic timelines and resource allocation.Execute the Plan: Implementation is key—take action, gain buy-in from your team, and make your vision a reality.Throughout the conversation, Bradley highlights common challenges business owners face, such as lack of clarity, blind spots, and unrealistic expectations. He emphasizes that designing comes first, then building—just as an architect would before construction begins. If you want to take control of your business, move from operator to owner, and build a business that runs without you, this episode is for you.Key Takeaways:Business owners need a clear blueprint to scale effectively.A three-year vision, one-year objectives, and 90-day priorities provide necessary structure.Understanding your current reality (Point A) is critical before planning for the future (Point B).Execution is just as vital as planning—without action, nothing changes.Getting outside perspective helps reveal blind spots and refine strategies.Resources Mentioned:Join Bradley's upcoming live web class at blueprintos.com/assets to learn the exact business blueprint he uses with coaching clients.Rate & Review:If you enjoyed this episode, please leave a rating and review on your favorite podcast platform. A new survey of what people here now think about getting from Point A to Point B can help guide planning for the region's future. On today's show, we hear about the present and future of transportation. Also, Ozarks at Large's Jack Travis reports a new program aims to help entrepreneurs in the cycling industry. Plus, we consider how money is changing collegiate sports.
New cars are great at moving people from Point A to Point B. But older cars, those that are sturdy and reliable and have a lot of miles on them, excel at simply moving people. You need both kinds of leaders in your company to get you to where you want to be.
Send us a textYou've probably used a map app like Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze to help you get from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible. But did you ever wonder how they work? Did you ever wonder whether we should slavishly follow their directions or be skeptical and consider external factors like our own prior driving experience? Well, wonder no more. Mark and Joe take the fastest route that starts with paper maps, brings them past an obscure mathematician's brilliant idea, stops for gas to consider the wonders of GPS and crowdsourcing, and arrives at the destination of Clarityville (population: you). As the head coach for ECFIT she provides strength training programs for endurance athletes seeking to perform at their very best in triathlons, marathons, and cycling events. Her clients include world champions and olympians as well as everyday athletes seeking excellence. Get Gritty Tip: Embrace the Recovery (even when it isn't pretty) Resilience isn't about avoiding failure—it's about how you recover. Every stumble in training, whether it's a missed workout, a bad race, or a tough session that didn't go as planned, is an opportunity to rebuild stronger. Reframe setbacks as stepping stones. Ask yourself: What did I learn? How can I grow? As triathletes, we build resilience by leaning into discomfort and using it to fuel our comeback. Remember, the path to greatness isn't linear—it's the grit to keep going that sets you apart. Reflective Questions: What is one lesson I can take away from my most recent setback or challenge? How do I typically respond to adversity, and what small shift can I make to approach challenges with a growth mindset? What support or tools can I use to help me come back stronger the next time I face an obstacle? Remember, the difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is how you use them. TriDot Workout of the Week: TriDot Workout of the Week - MAV Shuttles Warmup ~10 min @ Z2 with 3-4 x 20 sec Strides Main Set Priming: 4 min progression run ending with last 1 min @ Z4 2 Rounds (3 min @ Z2): 6 x 20 sec @ Z6 Effort (20 sec @ Z1) Z6 pace is as fast as you can go and complete the session with relatively consistent efforts. Balance of time @ Z2 Session Note Accelerate from a stop to 'fast' for a 20-second total effort with great form. This is followed by a very slow jogging recovery for 20 seconds. This session can be done in a 'shuttle' format where alternating 20-second fast efforts go back and forth across the same stretch of space. eg. Run your first 20-second fast effort from Point A to Point B. From Point B, do your jogging recovery as an out and back returning to Point B at the end of 20 seconds. Your next 20-second fast effort will be from Point B back to Point A. The following recovery will be an out and back jog from and returning to Point A. Repeat the back-and-forth pattern for the prescribed number of fast efforts. The goal and motivation is to run fast enough for each 20-second fast effort to be able to cover the same distance without slowing down toward the end of the session. Older and heavier athletes should be careful to take smaller, quicker steps during acceleration...not longer more intense, stressful strides. Stay tuned, train informed, and enjoy the endurance journey!

Click/tap here to view the Sermon Reflection Guide. Our culture celebrates efficiency. We prioritize getting from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible, and we are good at it! But what if closing the gap between problem and solution isn't always the goal? Some things—like heartache, grief, and struggle— cannot be rushed. Though we crave instant relief, Scripture tells us what we truly need: patience. Of all the commands in the Bible, which is the hardest for you? To rejoice? To forgive? To serve? For many of us, patience might top the list! Why is it so difficult to wait? And where is patience when we need it most? In this sermon, we explore what James 5 has to say about this Fruit of the Spirit, and what it looks like to practice patience in difficult circumstances and in our relationships with God and others.

This week America on the Road proves yet again that there is more to driving than just getting from Point A to Point B in a thoroughly rational but also thoroughly uninvolving crossover SUV. We experienced this firsthand as we road-tested two exceedingly enjoyable sports cars — the legendary Mazda MX-5 Miata and the almost equally legendary Subaru WRX. The 2024 WRX TR trim that Co-Host Chris Teague tested offers improved performance and handling from its rally-inspired chassis and suspension. It features a Brembo braking system with six-piston front and two-piston rear calipers, larger pads and rotors, and a larger brake master cylinder. Suspension enhancements include stiffer springs, revised damping rates, and a retuned steering rack for better control and response. The TR comes with 19-inch satin gray alloy wheels and Bridgestone Potenza S007 summer tires. Inside, it has Recaro seats with black and gray Ultrasuede, red stitching, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat. With its six-speed manual transmission, the 2024 WRX TR is base-priced at $41,655. How does it compare to Teague's GR Corolla? He'll tell us in his report. Across the country, Host Jack Nerad got the chance to test the 2024 MX-5 Miata Grand Touring trim, which received significant updates enhancing performance and comfort. Powered by a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine delivering 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque, the MX-5 Miata retains its classic front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. The Sport and Club trims come exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission, while the Grand Touring we tested offers either a manual or a six-speed automatic. In addition to Kinematic Posture Control, the Miata now offers a revamped electric power steering system with a new steering rack and software enhancements for smoother steering and better precision. Exterior updates include new LED headlights and taillights and additional color options. Inside, the 2024 Miata features a revised center console, an 8.8-inch infotainment display with added touch functionality, and Mazda's first Alexa integration. But does all this new stuff blunt the winning Miata experience? Nerad will have the answer in this show. In the news this week, Honda has given an in-depth briefing about its upcoming all-new lineup of electric vehicles, and the concepts are startling. We'll give you the details. General Motors has just ditched a major brand name as it does an about-face in its electric vehicle strategy. We'll tell you what brand they are turning their back on and give you our comments. If you are thinking about buying a new car soon, you should be aware that a substantial percentage of buyers are now taking on massive monthly payments when they make a purchase. Will you be one of them? And in the True Crime Files Automotive Edition, there is a new development in the trial of a major figure in the Volkswagen Dieselgate scandal. Is there prison in his future? This week, our special guest is Chevrolet bicyclist safety expert Mike Fry. The new Chevy Traverse has a system that is particularly useful in preventing vehicle-bicycle accidents, and we'll talk with him about that and about bicycle safety. We think you'll enjoy the discussion. So we have a lot of show for you this week. Thanks for joining us, and don't forget to look for new content on our YouTube and Rumble channels. America on the Road is brought to you by Driving Today.com, Mercury Insurance, and EMLandsea.com , the publisher of Nerad's latest book, Dance in the Dark, which is available HERE on Amazon.com
From the beginning, the clients adored the Bridle Path property. The expansive lot featured a charming yet notably outdated split-level residence, surrounded by lush tree coverage and a bonus accessory dwelling unit (ADU) at the rear. Instead of demolishing the house outright, the project aimed to maintain the essence of the 1950s split-level while integrating modern elements and creating versatile spaces for everyday living. Through relatively simple, yet strategic moves, a home can undergo a significant transformation with relatively little intervention. A straightforward realignment of wall heights and the fascia created a striking visual reference line from the exterior. By embracing multifunctional areas, the design sought to maximize usage while minimizing unnecessary square footage. Rather than expanding the existing footprint, the architect repurposed the carport to accommodate additional space blending the new and old seamlessly with the goal of respecting the property's and preserving its character in the neighbourhood.Maggie has loved the art and science of architecture since she was young. Raised by an engineer and an artist she was exposed to the field through her uncle who, in the 1950s, trained under Frank Lloyd Wright's protégé. Wylie went on to earn a Bachelors in Architecture from the University of Arizona in 2009 and subsequently moved to Austin. After almost six years in design-build and construction project management, Maggie launched Point B with a mission to deliver an enjoyable, streamlined client experience by pursuing an effective synergy between design and construction. She seeks design solutions that are founded on candid conversations about the realities of budget, the construction process and client requirements. With the help of a great team of employees and incredible clients, Wylie has conceptualized and grown Point B into a successful and expanding practice that is woven into the fabric of Austin's rapidly growing built environment. Your masculine core clearly sees the problem at Point A, you establish a path to a better future at Point B, but she gives you irrational kickback refusing to budge from Point A. Do you have a problem(s)? Probably each of us has at least one if not several. Sara's podcast is about problem solving. How do we bridge the gap between our current state to our desired state. And how do we get from point A to B? Sara just got back from the High Sierra and charting their own trails. At one point, she looked from a ledge and saw their next pass that looked like a meteorite just dropped to earth. This meant climbing over a lot of small rocks and she was hit with fear. As they charted out how and began the journey, she realized she was doing it. She was getting from point A to Point B and once she arrived at the destination, she looked back at the point where she was so scared, where the problem seemed so enormous, and realized that the closer you get to the problem, and chart a course, it is easier to move towards your goal. Get close enough to see clearly. We can use some of the 35,000 decisions we make a day, to get closer to the problem, chart a course, start on it, and as we move towards our desired goal, we see it more and more clearly. Remember to: Get closer to it Simplify Use Clarity Follow your internal source within. Here's to solving a problem and getting to the point you desire! This time Mr. Park would like us to discuss the planes, trains, automobiles, helicopters, horses (and unicycles) that get us from Point A to Point B. Finally, Dagan invites the gang into his dojo for a little martial arts action! Four brave warriors take to the matte in order to discuss everything from our practical experience with combat sports to our pop culture martial arts favorites in film, TV, anime and games.
