This week on the KOKO Show we are back bigger, better and more bodacious after a much needed week off. The lads have rested their weary bodies and sharpened their footy minds in order to tackle this week's double dose of RC magic and to celebrate Mr Giteau's 43rd Birthday in style. On the show we went cover to cover on the Wallabies' narrow loss to the All blacks at Eden Park, extending their unbeaten streak at the ‘Garden' to 52 wins on the trot and we have a seriously deep gander at the weird and wacky result out of Durban that saw the Springboks slap the rumps of the Pumas to the tune of 67-30. Plus, the KOKO lads are joined by the Eastern Suburbs eshay and Canberra's clippered up king Mr Tom Wright, to chat about how his ACL recovery is going, when we can expect him back on the pitch and what it was like to see James Slipper play his 150th Test Match over the weekend.With the boys getting older and the beers flowing more freely we checked back in on our KOKO Fitness Challenge to see how the lads are progressing or regressing in their goal to reach that ever elusive 10% body fat. However, thanks to our new friends at WHOOP the boys can track their journey and see in what areas they are excelling and where they need to lower the shoulders and partake in a couple of tough carries. Finally, we took some time to celebrate the mighty English Red Roses on their incredible World Cup win at Twickenham, as they took down those crazy Canadians 33-13 in some serious style. In this episode of the show, Binksy, Jamie and Stu look back at the fourth Test between England and India, plus New Zealand's victory in the T20 Tri-Series final against South Africa. We also look ahead to the 5th Test in the UK and the Black Caps v Zimbabwe series. We start the show by talking about India's fantastic fightback on days 4 and 5 of the Test at Old Trafford, which saw the series remain at 2-1 with one match to play. There were hundreds for Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja, but also some controversy surrounding the conclusion of the day's play. Ben Stokes wasn't happy then, but he'd done plenty to earn his player of the match award, taking a 5-wicket bag and scoring 100 across the course of the Test. Joe Root was equally impressive, and Rishabh Pant's bravery stood out for the visitors. We round out the India v England conversation with a discussion about potential and probable changes the 5th and final Test. To finish the show, Stu chimes in to highlight the Black Caps' unbeaten run to some T20 silverware in Zimbabwe, which culminated in a dramatic final against South Africa. With 7 runs needed from 6 balls, Matt Henry stepped up and, with the help of two fantastic catches in the outfield, closed out the victory for New Zealand. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, rugby league was a code looking to expand nationally after the success of its premier competition in Sydney. Clubs emerged in Brisbane, Newcastle, and the Gold Coast. Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation took the growth in the sport as an indication it ought to expand even further and plotted a coup, to take the running of the code out of the hands of the establishment - the Australian Rugby League. What followed was a war that ripped the sport apart with Murdoch on one side and the other, backed by another multi-millionaire media mogul, Kerry Packer. It was mogul against mogul, club against club, and players against players. On 15 March 1877 play began between England and Australia in Melbourne. So began an extraordinary tradition of the finest form of sport: the Test Match. An incredible innovation that involved two teams playing cricket for up to nine days in one case, it is unique in sporting contests. However Test Cricket is bound up by Empire, class and race. Great teams have been barred from competing, and there have been moments of high controversy including Bodyline and the D 'Oliveira Affair. One thing remains constant: the England batting collapse. He leaves after four years in the role in order to 'pursue other challenges'.
