Dr. John Lennox has lived one of the most remarkable lives in modern Christian thought. From sitting in on CS Lewis's final lectures at Cambridge in 1962, earning his PhD and teaching at Oxford as Emeritus Professor of Mathematics, debating Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, and authoring best-selling books on faith, science, suffering, AI, and Revelation. In this conversation, Dr. Lennox joins me to discuss his new autobiography, My Story. We talk about his encounter with CS Lewis, what he considers the hardest objection to Christianity (suffering and evil), and how his mind is increasingly filled with the hope of heaven. When I first heard about Rebbetzin Libbi Kakon, I thought the story would be about a remarkable couple who, despite both being deaf, built a yeshiva for deaf and hearing-impaired students. Then I heard the rest of the story. What I discovered was a woman who refused to let life's challenges define her. Together with her husband, Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Kakon, she helped build a unique yeshiva serving deaf students, raised a family, navigated extraordinary challenges, and continued finding ways to help others. To learn more about Yeshivat Nefesh Dovid or support their work:→ https://www.nefeshdovid.com/✬ SPONSORS OF THE EPISODE ✬► Colel Chabad: Help Israel's NeediestFor over 200 years, Colel Chabad has helped people through some of life's hardest moments. Tuppence Middleton is one of the most talented actors of her generation. Her work spans the intimate and the epic, from the haunting dystopias of Sense8 to the elegance of Downton Abbey. She brings a rare depth to every role she inhabits and her recent memoir Scorpions reveals a courageous and deeply personal side of her story. This podcast is a celebration of an impressive career to date, a tutorial in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and also serves as a reminder that we can look at someone, judge, think they have it all, perhaps allow a modicum of envy to creep in and yet we have absolutely no clue what challenges they are facing. The conclusion of the Viking Age is often associated with the pivotal year 1066, marked by the death of Harald Hardrada at the Battle of Stamford Bridge. Hardrada was a legendary King of Norway who had lived an extraordinary life, serving as an imperial bodyguard in the Byzantine capital of Constantinople where he was rewarded with gold or "embers of the hands." He sought to reclaim the English throne, which had previously been held by King Canute during the era of the North Sea Empire that united England, Denmark, and parts of Norway. While 1066 is a convenient historical bookmark, Barraclough argues it is an Anglo-centric view that ignores the persistence of Norse culture in other regions like Greenland or Russia. The era also featured figures like Harald Bluetooth, who famously claimed to have converted the Danes to Christianity and whose runic initials now serve as the symbol for modern Bluetooth technology. Another symbolic ending occurred much later in 1263 at the Battle of Largs, where King Haakonof Norway faced off against King Alexander III of Scotland. Although the battle was inconclusive, Haakon'ssubsequent death in Orkney led to the Western Isles being ceded to Scotland, marking the end of significant Norwegian political control in the region. 7/81630
What do you do when your accountant brain knows the numbers, your life blows up anyway, and the answer turns out to be halfway around the world in a weird little movement called FIRE? We head to New Zealand to talk with Bronwyn Candish, a chartered accountant, community builder, and one of the clearest Kiwi voices in financial independence movement. She talks to us about starting over after divorce, rebuilding from the middle, and discovering that "doing money right" has a lot less to do with credentials than with courage, alignment, and actually taking action. This episode covers: Growing up with scarcity in New Zealand and how that shaped Bronwyn's money mindset Why being an accountant did not automatically make her good with money Lifestyle creep, overbuying on housing, and drifting into paycheck-to-paycheck living Divorce as a financial wake-up call in her late 30s How Bronwyn found FIRE through a random article and went deep down the rabbit hole The role of KiwiSaver, housing, and DIY culture in the New Zealand version of FI Why community and accountability matter so much on the journey How Bronwyn turned her accounting practice into a FIRE-adjacent coaching space The creation of Black Friday and the growth of the Kiwi FIRE community What it looks like to be "mid-journey" and still deeply love the path . === SUPPORT THE SHOW ===
What if the story you're stuck in isn't who you are… it's just who you've been? In this conversation, I sit down with Jordan Belfort "The Real Wolf of Wall St", and I'll tell you right now, this is not the interview you're expecting. Most people know Jordan for one chapter of his life, but today we go way deeper. We talk about identity, values, and what it really takes to rewrite your story when the world keeps trying to define you by your past. And what hit me the most is this. He didn't have to become someone new. He had to rediscover who he was before everything went off track. That is a powerful lesson for every single one of us. We also get into the truth about money, success, and the tradeoffs nobody talks about. There is a point in your life where chasing the next level has a cost, and you better start asking yourself if it is worth it. Jordan opens up about choosing ethics over easy money, even when it cost him millions. That kind of discipline and clarity is rare. We talk about building a life that is not just successful on paper, but one that actually feels right when you wake up every day. Then we shift into something every entrepreneur and salesperson needs to hear. This is a masterclass in communication and persuasion. Jordan breaks down what really makes someone influential. It is not manipulation. It is understanding people, asking better questions, mastering tonality, and building real trust. If you have ever wondered why some people instantly connect and others don't, this part of the conversation alone is worth listening to twice. And we go into the future. AI, business, and what is coming next. Jordan is deep in the AI world right now, and what he shares about where things are headed will open your eyes. Some jobs will disappear. New ones will be created. But the people who win are the ones who adapt, who learn, and who stay ahead of the curve. The lesson is simple. If you do not disrupt yourself, someone else will. This episode is about ownership. Ownership of your story, your skills, your future, and your standards. If you are ready to stop living in your past and start building what is next, this one is for you. Key Takeaways: Why your past does not define you and how to rewrite your identity The difference between chasing money and building a meaningful life The real truth about ethical selling and influencing people the right way How tonality, presence, and communication determine your success Why becoming an expert is a decision, not a timeline The future of AI and what it means for sales, business, and entrepreneurship Why you must disrupt yourself before the world does it for you

In her book, Wife, Mother, Spy: An Extraordinary Life Filled with Ordinary Days, Ms. Ann Butler explores the complexities of balancing a career in the Agency's Clandestine Service while raising five children with a “non-tandem” spouse. This event will offer students unique insights into the realities of operational tradecraft, specifically the discipline required to maintain work-life balance as a wife and mother while navigating often risky high-stakes overseas field assignments as a 24/7 undercover CIA spy. About the Author: Ann Elizabeth Butler was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and grew up in Endicott, New York with her parents and three brothers. At Union-Endicott High School, Ann was editor of the yearbook, played clarinet in the marching and concert bands, often went to Greek Peak with the ski club, and was active in the French and Key Clubs. She majored in Economics at the University of Notre Dame, spending her sophomore year abroad in Angers, France at the Université Catholique de l'Ouest. After graduation, Ann received a Rotary Scholarship to study in Belgium and obtained a Master's in International Trade from the Université de l'Etat à Mons. In 1986, Ann began a 27-year-long career as an undercover officer in the Directorate of Operations at the Central Intelligence Agency. Early on, while working full time, Ann attended evening classes at George Washington University and earned an MBA with a concentration in International Business. Before moving to Washington, DC to start her new career, Ann met Joseph Potak, to whom she has now been married for 37 years. They have five children together: Claire, Kyle, Eric, Alexis, and Katrina. Ann's work with the CIA required her family to move every few years to a different city, country, or continent. Her mission was simple - recruit spies and collect intelligence, to help protect the United States. Ann Butler has spent her life striving to find the balance between being a wife, a mother, and a spy. Her story is full of both very challenging as well as very rewarding moments. Now, she has written them all down. With her memoir, Wife, Mother, Spy, she wants others to read her story and know that although it's not easy - they too can have it all." **Learn more about IWP graduate programs: https://www.iwp.edu/academics/graduate-degree-programs/ ***Make a gift to IWP: https://wl.donorperfect.net/weblink/WebLink.aspx?name=E231090&id=3

Huang Chin-tao (黃金島) was never a household name, but his life story is the story of modern Taiwan. In this concluding episode, we follow Huang from the 2.28 uprising in 1947 as he joins a resistance group led by a rare combination: a Taiwanese woman communist guerrilla commander, Xie Xuehong, whom we've dubbed Agent "Red Snow." After fighting bravely but losing the Battle of Wuniulan Bridge in Nantou, Huang becomes a fugitive and then spends more than two decades in Taiwan's prisons. There is, however, finally some happiness: a few years after being released, he found love and became a political activist in what would become Taiwan's first real opposition party. For this tale of resistance, survival, and a regular man's refusal to be broken by history, we drew on Anna Beth Keim's excellent biography Heaven Does Not Block All Roads.

After spending an intensive six-day immersion with the master of personal development, Tony Robbins, Jeannette shares the foundational strategies for shifting your mindset and scaling your business. She dives into the "Triad" of emotional influence—Physiology, Focus, and Language—and explores how to effectively audit your life by identifying what's missing and what's holding you back. From the five universal "Givens" of life to the six core human needs that drive every decision, this incredible session provides a high-level roadmap to move you from living by chance to living by design. You'll Learn Why: Self-auditing is the vital first step toward personal growth, requiring an honest assessment of what is great in your life versus what is missing. Understanding the six human needs—certainty, uncertainty, significance, connection, growth, and contribution—is key to recognising the subconscious drivers behind your behaviours. Accepting the five "Givens" of life, such as the fact that everything ends and life isn't always fair, builds the resilience needed to handle setbacks. Mastering the "Triad" (Physiology, Focus, and Language) allows you to instantly shift your emotional state and change how you interpret life events. Redefining your "Primary Question" can move you from a state of constant self-judgment to a mindset focused on empowerment and contribution. This episode is living proof that no matter where you're starting from — or what life throws at you — it's never too late to be brave, bold, and unlock your inner brilliant. Extraordinary living doesn't happen by accident. It happens by choice. Last weekend, in my blog, I created the acronym JAPHILAFF as a simple reminder to prioritize Joy, Acceptance, Peace, Health, Inclusion, Love, Abundance, Forgiveness, and Focus in our daily lives. These principles serve as guideposts for making intentional decisions that nourish our body, mind, and spirit. As I reflect on how I practice JAPHILAFF, I see how laughter, curiosity, and a lighthearted perspective help me stay grounded, consistent, and aligned with my values. This approach empowers us to live fully, embrace challenges with grace, and create a life that feels both meaningful and playful. I will share how we can all live a life rooted in JAPHILAFF! Most people talk about wanting an extraordinary life. However, very few are willing to live extraordinarily different to earn it. That gap is what this episode is about. Austin Zaback built what most people chase for decades before the age of 30. Over $3 billion in real estate sold. Twelve companies founded. Hundreds of employees. A national real estate team spanning multiple states. None of it came from luck. It came from obsession. In this conversation, we unpack what it actually means to be obsessed in your 20s and why that season of life is the greatest window most people waste. Austin shares the sacrifices, intensity, and relentless standards that allowed him to build trust, authority, and momentum while most people his age were still figuring things out. We talk about how he earned credibility as “the young guy” in rooms full of older, more experienced players, why mastery and work ethic still beat shortcuts, and how becoming impossible to ignore in your market changes everything. Austin breaks down why obsession is not about burnout or hype, but about commitment, clarity, and eliminating distractions long enough to build something real. This episode also challenges the idea of balance. We explore the difference between grinding aimlessly and building with intention, how Austin thinks about family, business, and long-term fulfillment, and why efficiency in your 30s is earned through intensity in your 20s. If you are early in your journey, this episode shows you the standard required to separate from the pack. If you are further along, it will force you to ask whether you are still playing at the level your goals demand. This is not motivation. It is a reality check. We hope you enjoy it!
