La platja de Lloret de Mar ha acollit aquest diumenge la 40a edició de la Travessia Yasuji Fusano, organitzada pel Club Natació Lloret. En total, 281 nedadors s’han llençat a l’aigua: 208 han completat la prova de 1.500 metres i 73 la de 500. Entre els participants hi havia esportistes d’arreu de Catalunya i, com a novetat d’enguany, també un equip de nedadors belgues que aquests dies s’entrenen a Lloret. La presidenta del Club Natació Lloret, Olga Valls, ha fet una valoració molt positiva de la jornada i ha destacat tant l’ambient com la fidelitat dels participants. «La travessia ha anat molt bé. Hi ha molta feina els dies previs, però és molt satisfactori veure que tot surt bé i que les valoracions dels participants són tan positives».Olga Valls En l’àmbit esportiu, Guillem Pujol s’ha imposat a la prova de 1.500 metres amb un temps de 18 minuts i 46 segons, un registre que li ha permès establir un nou rècord de la travessia. El nedador, retirat de la competició d’elit des de fa un any, tornava a participar en aquesta cita després de diverses edicions d’absència. Guillem Pujol, guanyador de la categoria masculina dels 1.500 metres de distància. En categoria femenina, la victòria ha estat per a la belga Jolien Vermeylen, que ha completat el recorregut amb un temps de 20 minuts i 13 segons. L’organització també fa un balanç molt positiu del canvi d’horari. Aquest any la sortida s’ha avançat mitja hora, una decisió que ha contribuït a millorar les condicions de la prova. «Creiem que ha estat un encert avançar la sortida, tant per l’estat del mar com per la quantitat de gent que hi havia a la platja. Fa un any que va deixar la competició professional, però aquest diumenge Guillem Pujol tornarà a nedar una prova molt especial per a ell: la Travessia Yasuji Fusano de Lloret. Pujol assegura que és una oportunitat per retrobar-se amb la gent de casa i amb una de les travessies que més gaudeix. «És molt especial per a mi, ja que és el memorial de Yassuji Fusano, que va ser entrenador meu quan era petit a la piscina de l’Olympic».Guillem Pujol Tot i haver-se retirat, Pujol continua molt vinculat a les aigües obertes. Explica que segueix entrenant-se i també que actualment és el president del Comitè d’Aigües Obertes de la Federació Catalana de Natació. A més, reconeix que, enguany, competirà sobretot per gaudir de l’ambient però sense renunciar al seu esperit competitiu. «Intentaré competir diumenge, i si puc intentar guanyar o posar-ho difícil a la gent. Allà estarem donant guerra».Guillem Pujol El nedador també anima a tothom a participar-hi. Destaca que els 1.500 metres són una distància molt assequible per a qualsevol persona amb un mínim de preparació, i també, que l’ambient que s’hi viu, fa que valgui molt la pena. «Que s’animin a gaudir de l’experiència i de l’ambient que es crea. A Lloret, a més, el paisatge també ajuda».Guillem Pujol En aquesta edició, la travessia comptarà amb un màxim de 300 dorsals disponibles, en una nedada popular en què inicialment eren molt pocs els que hi participaven. «El món de la natació cada vegada va a més i especialment les aigües obertes, és una tendència que s’està explotant molt». Guillem Pujol La travessia de Yasuji Fusano se celebrarà aquest diumenge a Lloret i tornarà a reunir nedadors provinents de tot el territori, en la que serà ja la 40a edició d’una de les cites esportives més emblemàtiques de l’estiu.
