Mike and Natalie talk about why they chose the fantastic guests they did and highlight some of their favorite moments of the past seven months’ worth of episodes. We revisit Steve Kerr’s savage sigh at his daughter’s college volleyball game and the absurd chant Mike led at Dodger Stadium during the 1982 L.A. City baseball championship. We hear New Orleans Saints star Cam Jordan talk about why raising a black child is America carries daunting overtones and get some insight from rap legend Luther Campbell (aka Uncle Luke) into his late friend Tupac Shakur’s psyche as it pertained to social activism. Two doctors at the forefront of the COVID-19 fight, Greg Huhn and Ajay Nirula, tell us why Dr. Fauci is a legend, and Brandi Chastain takes some current women’s soccer stars to task. Former NFL receiver turned political commentator Donté Stallworth tells a Bill Belichick story with an unexpected twist. Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur gets grilled by an unlikely interviewer, former Oklahoma and Dallas Cowboys coach Barry Switzer looks back on a drunken argument with Jerry Jones, and Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay tells Mike why he shouldn’t worry that rock icon Stephen Stills hates him.
In 2013, Donté Stallworth was preparing for his 11th NFL season when he took his then-girlfriend on a hot air balloon ride. When it hit a power line, they were electrocuted, engulfed in flames and told to brace for a crash landing. Then things got even crazier. For the first time, Stallworth shares the whole horrifying story. We also learn about Patriots coach Bill Belichick’s unexpected act of kindness and the clutch intervention of current Houston Texans VP of Communication Amy Palcic.
Beginning with a story about an ill-timed bathroom visit before running the 40-yard-dash for NFL scouts, and concluding with a 40th birthday fantasy that includes serenading his White House neighbors with a bullhorn, Stallworth entertains and enlightens while digging into the most significant issues of our time. Well versed in the history of protests for racial justice, within the sports world and beyond, Stallworth talks about being tear-gassed outside the White House, the parallels between 1960s activism and the current movement and the reason so many Americans have reached a boiling point. He also discusses the dismay he felt toward former teammates Tom Brady and Drew Brees--and Patriots coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Krafts--after they endorsed some political stances he finds offensive.
So cool that NJ is doing a round robin high school baseball tournament starting this week. They get a closure on their season especially the seniors. Loved the MLB documentary "Junior" on MLB network. And didn't know that his hatred for Yankees came for racism his dad dealt with when he played for the franchise. Very eloquent words written by Donté Stallworth in the NYT. More minority candidates are needing in the owners, coaching and management positions in the NFL.
Donté Stallworth, former NFL WR joins the show to talk about the issues the country is facing and whether Colin Kaepernick will get another shot at the NFL. In Around the NFL, we take a look at Michael Thomas and his generous donation, Dalvin Cook's holdout and Bo Scarborough's future. Finally, Flag on the Play!

Special Guest Donté Stallworth by Elizabeth and Matt Bruenig
When I confessed to Donté Stallworth that when we first started following each other on twitter I had no idea he played football, he had a surprising reaction…he was thrilled. Donté has seamlessly made the career transition from football playerto political commentator. He’s regularly seen on MSNBC, CNN and he’s written for HuffPost among others. We had a wide-ranging conversation about the politics of football, Trump’s influence over the game, Deflategate, 2020 candidates and most importantly why Bill Belichick always looks like he’s passing a kidney stone. I never thought I would talk football but I also never thought Trump would be President. So Donté was the perfect guest to discuss the collision of these twoworlds. Sarah Westwood, Daniel Dale and Joan Walsh discuss Trump's truth problem with Brian Stelter. Dale says "incessant dishonesty" is "a central feature of his presidency," yet it's too often treated as "a side show rather than the central story." He says journalists should keep Trump's lies front and center.;Trump is trying to shift blame for government decisions that cause immigrant children to be separated from their parents. Daniel Dale points out that Trump officials have "owned" the new policy, while Trump himself is blaming Democrats. Walsh asks, "Where do we draw the line in cruelty?"; Michigan Congressman Dan Kildee and Mother Jones reporter Rebecca Leber join Brian Stelter to discuss the EPA's lack of transparency. EPA officials blocked some journalists from attending a recent speech by EPA chief Scott Pruitt. "I'm not gonna stand for it," says Kildee, a Democrat who is calling for an investigation.; Trump on NFL players who don't stand for the anthem: "Maybe you shouldn't be in the country." Former player Donté Stallworth's reaction: "I think it's detestable for the president to use that type of rhetoric, especially towards American citizens who are peacefully protesting."; New York Times media columnist Jim Rutenberg discusses Sean Hannity's anti-Mueller and anti-media talking points, plus the need to inform the public about how the media really works. Rutenberg previews the new inside-the-NYT series called "The Fourth Estate."; "Trump does not want this story told -- that's the bottom line." Carl Bernstein says the president wants to bury the Mueller probe because "Mueller has the ability and the facts to reveal him, Donald Trump, in a really terrible light."To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy
The FBI has "grave concerns" about the release of the now infamous Nunes memo and who better to explain the implications of what its release might mean than the ex-Deputy Director of the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center, former Mueller deputy, CNN contributor and 'proud shitholer,' Philip Mudd, and former chief White House ethics lawyer under President George W. Bush, Richard Painter, to discuss the most recent updates in the Mueller investigation. In light of Super Bowl Sunday, we just had to have on former NFL-star and renaissance man Donté Stallworth to further our discussion from last week regarding the intersection of sports and politics. Oh, and half of M&M Politico Florida's Marc Caputo dropped in to raise a little hell - Caputo style. Enjoy!
Earlier this year Donté Stallworth and three other former and current NFL football players spent three days lobbying Congress in favor of criminal justice reform. In other words, they did politics outside of football -- demonstrating that even as players continue to kneel during pregame anthems, there's a deeper commitment to policy than many people may realize. Stallworth joins the show to talk football and politics along with HuffPost reporter Travis Waldron. The Republican health care bill is officially dead, but HuffPost reporters Jeffrey Young and Igor Bobic explain what's next in the Trump administration's quest to kill the Affordable Care Act. And HuffPost reporters Jen Bendery and Jessica Schulberg explain the highly questionable port policy that is not helping hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico at all.
