Would the Jets move on from Rob Saleh after this season? Probably not, because Aaron Rodgers seems to like him. Callers wonder how Saleh survives after how bad he has been in his two years. A caller is upset at how Italians are being portrayed by the media with Tommy DeVito's success. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the boring Vikings/Bears game from last night as Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were thankful when it ended. Russell Westbrook got into it with a fan last night and talked to the media about it after the game. Jerry ran into Tony Paige at the Rutgers basketball game last night. Sonny Gray signed with the Cardinals and Erik Kratz claimed Larry Rothschild was the reason he wasn't good with the Yankees. In the final segment of the hour, we got a handwritten note from Luke, a young kid who came to visit us on the show a few weeks back. A caller who claims to be best friends with the DeVito family said it's been a great ride for the family.

Hour 1 We had another brutally boring football game last night between the Vikings and Bears. Boomer said it's because there have been 50 different starting quarterbacks this year. Even though we have been complaining about how bad the product has been, we are still watching. There's also a lack of hitting in practice which leads to poor play in the games. Boomer also said the majority of players coming in from college are not prepared for the pro game, particularly at quarterback. Even Patrick Mahomes sat for a year before he played. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with sound from last night's boring Monday night game. Rex Ryan said Brandon Staley should go back to Division III football. Gio wonders what Bill Cowher does with his free time and imagines him out clubbing in NYC. Joe Schoen talked to the media and didn't say much. Bill Simmons had a strange way to describe the Eagles season thus far. It involves Milton Berle. In the final segment of the hour, the Mets hired Scott Havens as President of Business Operations. They are going to try and build a casino over by Citi Field.  Hour 2 Giants GM Joe Schoen met the media and he was asked so many questions about the draft even though they are still ‘in the hunt' and the draft is so far away. He was also questioned about allowing Leonard Williams to decide if he wanted to go to Seattle. How involved should NFL owners be in the job of the GM? A caller doesn't like the way the media is portraying Italians when it comes to Tommy DeVito. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Vikings announcers reacting to the loss to the Bears. Joe Schoen met the media and said Daniel Jones is the quarterback when he's healthy but they still need another QB. Maggie Gray talked about Bills fans throwing dildos on the field and Jets fans changing T-I-*-S. Gio does a Jon Heyman impression. In the final segment of the hour, Sports Illustrated is being accused of using A-I to create fake authors and using fake headshots for the authors. Eddie found an old memo from Mark Chernoff back in 1999 about putting ‘Eat Me' as the screen saver.  Hour 3 Would the Jets move on from Rob Saleh after this season? Probably not, because Aaron Rodgers seems to like him. Frank Reich was fired by the Panthers yesterday, the second straight year the Panthers fired a coach before he finished his first year. Hour 4 Gio's wife can't believe Al Roker has to do weather both in the morning and at night. Gio looked it up and he makes $10 million a year. Boomer wants a job like Jimbo Fisher, where he gets let go and still makes $76 million. Gio asked Al who's running the NY Rangers and Al said, ‘Gunther'. A caller said Tommy DeVito saved the Giants season, at least making it watchable. Boomer was in the bathroom and heard somebody wipe three times and he thought it was a lot. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and Boomer reads what Chat GPT said about him. Jerry starts with the Bears beating the Vikings in a boring MNF game. Mike McDaniel met with reporters and had fun with someone about the offensive line. Gio is in a Twitter fight with someone named Zach Braziller of the NY Post. He has had enough of the schmucks attacking WFAN. He called them ‘soapbox media a-holes'. The Moment of The Day involves Maggie Gray getting ‘dumped out' of her own show because of her salty language. In the final segment of the show, Boomer has his stat pack out with Bill Belichick info. We talked about Belichick's future with the Patriots and where he might go.

The Jets lost again and Gio does not want you blaming anybody except Zach Wilson. Boomer said there appears to be no leadership. Buck and Aikman said the Jets offense is ‘stuck in neutral'. The proof is in the performance and the performance is brutal. The Jets went into the bye after beating the Eagles and barely beat a team with negative passing yards and lost to the worst defense in the league. Rob Saleh says and does nothing on the sideline. ESPN showed him a ton of times just standing there. Troy Aikman was very critical of Zach Wilson and Rob Saleh. The Jets don't have another QB they can trust to play. They brought in Aaron Rodgers' buddy, Tim Boyle, and they clearly don't trust him. Boomer said Maxx Crosby must be lickin' his chops knowing he goes against Zach this Sunday night. The Jets defense has to be pissed. C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update. He starts with the Chargers punt return in the first quarter. The Chargers only had 191 net yards of offense and still won by 3 TDs. The Jets are about to have a fractured locker room if they don't already. The Jets and Giants are the two worst offenses in the NFL. The Mets hired Carlos Mendoza as manager as Craig Counsell goes from Milwaukee to the Cubs. RJ Barrett returned for the Knicks and they beat the Clippers. In the final segment of the hour, we took calls from upset Jets fans who can't believe Zach Wilson is still the QB. The Jets have 8 TDs on the year. CJ Stroud threw 5 on Sunday.  Hour 2 Gio said in about a month Aaron Rodgers is going to go to the Jets and say he's ready to play and they are going to have to make a decision. They have let him do whatever he wants from the moment he got here, including bringing his ‘stiff' friends as Gio put it. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the Jets losing to the Chargers 27-6. Garrett Wilson said it's tough to look at the defense when they keep going 3 and out. Zach Wilson said he's seeing the field better than he ever has. Sal got BT to spit out his coffee after his reaction to the Mets hiring Carlos Mendoza as manager. In the final segment of the hour, when will the Jets turn to Trevor Siemian at QB? Why do Joe Douglas and Rob Saleh continue to put Zach out there every single week?  Hour 3 Mets fans were freaking out over the Carlos Mendoza hire as Mets manager. Gio wasn't all in on Craig Counsell so it's not a big deal to him. The manager has to manage the clubhouse and the bullpen. That's it. Boomer said Menoza is highly respected and people seek out his advice. The Cubs just blew the manager's salary out of the water with the hiring of Counsell. Gio said the most important hire was David Stearns, and he's here now. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the Jets losing to the Chargers. The Chargers had 8 sacks. Kyler Murray has a chance to start for the Cardinals this week. The Knicks beat the Clippers, spoiling the Clippers debut of James Harden. In the final segment of the hour, Gio talked about Nick Cass on social media and his hilarious videos. We then talked about Daniel Jones' future with the Giants including potentially trading him and not taking as big of a cap hit. The Kyler Murray contract is a complete disaster for the Cardinals.  Hour 4 Ben Volin of the Boston Globe said the Patriots could make a coaching change if they lose to the Colts on Sunday. Jerod Mayo would be interim coach and Mike Vrabel for next year. Is there any way Robert Kraft would fire Belichick mid-season? We got back to the Jets and Zach Wilson. A caller thinks the Jets didn't bring a competent QB in here because Aaron Rodgers wouldn't allow it. C-Lo returns for an update but first today is Election Day. Al has no idea who's running and what their platforms are. C-Lo starts with the Jets losing to the Chargers. We heard from Mike Francesa and his disgust with the Jets performance. Sal Licata said he never learns his lessons with the Mets. He gives up. The Moment of The Day involves 81 year old John in Smithtown getting all worked up about the Jets. Jerry is in for Boomer today as he's speaking to a hospital group in Arkansas today. Gio wonders how much he's getting paid for that. We also realized none of us will ever be in Arkansas, ever. The Texas Rangers won the World Series. Jerry picked them before the season started but never placed a bet on them. Gio said the most important thing you need to win a World Series is a locker room full of guys that care. And that is where a great manager like Bruce Bochy comes in. This is the type of manager the Mets need to find. Our friend and former WFAN employee Kevin Burkhardt was right there at the World Series one day and Cowboys/Rams the next. He's the Joe Buck of Fox Sports now that Buck is at ESPN. C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update. He starts with the sounds from last night's World Series win for the Texas Rangers. Corey Seager won the MVP. Bruce Bochy talked about the group of players he had this year. The Knicks lost to the Cavs at the Garden. Gio said the Nets are playing their asses off ‘devoid of those three idiots'. Bob Knight passed away at 83. Will Levis plays tonight in Pittsburgh and Gio said he is not a well liked guy. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about NFL head coaches that got fired mid-season, and how the team did the following week. This is relevant as the Giants play the new Antonio Pierce led Vegas Raiders. It does seem to spark a team more than it doesn't.

C-Lo returns for an update but first we played the bleeped out clip of Gio cursing at a caller from the previous segment. We also compared the guy's voice to the ‘pervert Al' character. The Texas Rangers won the World Series last night, their first ever. They celebrated by singing Creed's ‘Higher'. Bobby Knight passed away at the age of 83 and we have an outtake of him doing a commercial for the Marines. Antonio Pierce met the media and talked about Raider pride and the commitment to excellence. In the final segment of the hour, Carl Banks said he no longer wants to do the weekly interview with Sal & BT. Sal and BT individually talked to Carl off the air and said everything was good. Ten hours later Gary Myers put out a tweet as ‘breaking news' that Carl was resigning his weekly interview spot because he was disrespected. Gio said this means nothing as his segment was boring. It is not a loss for WFAN as nobody really liked it. Gio called it the most boring 15 minutes of the week. Gio is clearly happy to see it go.  Hour 3 Callers react to Gio's strong take about Carl Banks resigning from his weekly interview with BT & Sal. C-Lo returns for an update Gio is nervous about the upcoming release by Dua Lipa. He needs her career to keep going. We talked about female pop stars and how long they stay popular for. The Texas Rangers won the World Series last night, the first for their franchise. Arizona Diamondbacks Manager Torey Lovullo said he just wants to suck his thumb and eat ice cream to get over the loss. Bob Knight passed away at the age of 83. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the death of Bob Knight and his legacy. A 76 year old man talked about going to three Pink concerts and how much he loves her.  Hour 4 It's getting tougher every week to pick a knockout pool team. The Browns over the Cardinals looks like a solid pick. What about the Falcons over the Vikings? Gio wants to make a ballsy knockout pool pick by taking the Bengals over the Bills. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day and starts with the death of Bobby Knight. He has some clips of Knight going off during a talk show and one where he talks about sitting on the bench being a great motivator. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is all pumped up about his new arena. Antonio Pierce met the media and he was fired up to be leading the Raiders. Mike McDaniel was asked about people dressing up as him for Halloween. Chris Russo was all worked up because the Chiefs and Dolphins are on Sunday morning when he's at church. The Moment of The Day involved Gio cursing at a caller and then we compared his voice to ‘pervert Al'. In the final segment of the show, Chris Russo not only backed out of his retirement bet, but now he has backed out on the deal he made with Howard Stern about wearing an Arizona Diamondbacks bikini. Gio said it makes him look like a ‘chump'. Gio also talked about the Biggie song where he talks about Anthony Mason's girlfriend.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 61: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: House Republicans have fully embraced Dementia J. Trump's tiny, ugly, Johnson. And even as Speaker Mike Johnson checks all the denialist nihilist boxes - he's homophobic, he wants to put abortion providers in prison, he wants to make gay sex illegal, he wants to spend taxpayer money on religious projects, he is so obscure that Senators Barrasso and Collins had no idea who he was - are the seeds already in price for his eventual dethroning? On January 6th, during the insurrection, on Fox News, Mike Johnson CRITICIZED DONALD TRUMP. One can only assume that nobody has played the clip for Trump or said "Are you aware, sir, that he blamed you for not doing more to stop things, SIR?" In the short term there is new reporting that Johnson was far more involved in the insurrection than originally known. He was the point man in the House's Amicus Brief to the Texas lawsuit to throw out the electoral results from Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Washington (a brief so controversial that other Republicans said Trump should preemptively pardon all the Congressmen who signed it). But now it turns out he briefed other Congressmen on January 5th on how to rationalize blocking the certification of Biden's victory on bullshit "constitutional" grounds.  Meanwhile: when will a judge in this country do the right thing and put Trump in jail the way he would put you or me in jail? During the lunch break at the civil fraud trial yesterday, Trump AGAIN attacked Judge Arthur Engoron's clerk. The judge merely assessed a $10,000 fine. If you're not going to have the balls to put him in prison, at least get his attention. The fine should be $1,500,000,000. See what he does about that. B-Block (19:43) IN SPORTS: Dusty Baker ends his baseball managerial career, while the only manager to commute with me on the New York Subway system shifts from San Diego to San Francisco. And Baseball's Hall of Fame announces ten nominees for its annual recognition of one great broadcaster and I've worked with three of them and four of them are good friends and good grief I'm old. (26:17) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Tommy Tuberville may have been thwarted by Senate Democrats. There's a Clarence Thomas money scandal (no, a DIFFERENT one), and here we go: Eric Adams says he was made mayor of New York City by God. Only this time it gets translated in real time into Spanish. C-Block (32:47) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: America lost something when the intricate, rehearsed, multi-person practical joke vanished. 41 years ago this month I was fortunate to play a minor role in the greatest practical joke I ever witnessed, when we at the NFL player strike negotiations convinced a reporter from The New York Times that he had just missed the biggest story of the year.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
