And it's the scepter they seem to be using to find their way, but is that why it's glowing? Or is it that it's using its own powers to influence people, and by doing so is releasing the gamma Clint needs to find it? Or is it Loki somehow controlling it? We love how she's played Loki here. Her ‘thank you' to him is particularly gratifying. The shots of her looking at Loki followed by Loki looking at her – though from a profile shot – do look a bit funky though. We talk a bit about the interior workings of the Helicarrier shot that gets us from the prison to the lab, even if it is a strange space that's hard to make much sense of. But it does get us into the lab, and into the conversation that Kyle's here for. It's his favorite scene in the film, and we understand why. We get to discuss the teaming up of Tony and Bruce against Fury, and how that soon includes Steve. Considering how Steve stormed out earlier, it's nice to see he's now on their side, albeit not for long. Phase Two is introduced. Not the films, but the weapons, and we complain about the fact that they couldn't come up with a different name. We also ponder Hydra's and Zola's involvement in continuing the development of Tesseract weaponry. There's a lot going on in this minute and we're here for it. Minute Thirty-Seven: From Erik Telling His Assistants Where They Can Put It to Coulson Telling Steve About His Vintage SetJay Shepard from MCULocationScout.com and RetroZap.com joins us in this episode!In the thirty-seventh minute of The Avengers...Following our last minute's extended scene, we already have another one. We're in Loki's underground lab and there is more between Erik Selvig and Clint Barton, between Erik Selvig and Loki, and between Clint Barton and Loki. It all feels awkward, though. While there are some interesting points brought up in this extended scene – like Barton talking about why he might not have killed Fury and more about Selvig's connection to the Tesseract – it all plays awkwardly. We definitely prefer the version as it exists in the film, though this one is an interesting exploration of these characters. The scene plays a bit strangely anyway. They have an awful lot of people they've found in just a few days and seem to have accomplished an incredible amount of work on everything. Plus, we have the odd exit of the scene with a request for an eyeball. Just what is Clint up to? That, of course, brings us back to the bridge of the Helicarrier where we get a bit of the conversation about trading cards between Steve and Phil. It's pretty cute. All in all, there's certainly no shortage of content to discuss in this minute! This week a TV movie crushes a group of reviewers that has already been beaten down by so many bad films this season. The cherry on the top of this steaming pile is The Hoff! The henchmen are the Blue Man Group? Arden thinks the set from the baddies’ lair was stolen for the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. The villainess has obviously been through the A Clockwork Orange treatment and it didn’t work. She crazy. All of The Hoff’s best lines are in the Quotes section on IMDB. Armin says the mind reading scenes are just Action Essentials 2 plopped into the TV film. Armin also adds that he missed years of the plot of Interstellar on a restroom break. Here, he’s the president of the USA. We saw Gremlins so we’re going to steal this bit. Arden thinks the false ending with The Hoff & Lips on the Helicarrier could have been more Titanic-like. Wait, there’s a helicarrier? Yes, the Lego version is very expensive. Armin says this movie is better than Gymkata, but as bad Waterworld. Arden tells us the other movies that came out this year, The Big Lebowski, American History X and Saving Private Ryan. Generally, things started to turn around for Marvel with Blade and X-Men. Arden read Baywatch for the articles. Armin says you should watch Blade and Chris recommends Spider-Man. Arden suggests Spectre while Paul warns you to not watch Tomorrowland, ever.
