On this week's show our Marvelicious hosts run down all the great Marvel toys, books, and collectibles that will make any fan delighted this holiday season. From LEGO sets to T-Shirts, action figures to coffee mugs, prop replicas and even purses, there's bound to be a great gift idea for you in this episode! All that and more is in this new episode of Marvelicious Toys!
Win a copy of Spider-Man 2 for PS5! Details in this episode of Marvelicious Toys where we go in-depth looking at the newest Marvel game. We discuss the product tie-ins, the game itself, and the characters and designs that would make awesome Marvel Legends figures. Speaking of Marvel Legends, on this episode we talk about some great deals on those Hasbro toys. From Ollies to Ross to online sales, find out how to get Legends for as little as $6! And more Legends talk, in the final hours the HasLab Giant-Man got funded...with one of two stretch goals attained. What does this mean for Marvel Legends and future HasLabs, and why do collectors wait so long? All that and more is in this new episode of Marvelicious Toys!
Dwight Stall, Ryan Ting, and Dan Yun from Hasbro's Marvel Legends team talk all things Giant-Man and Haslab--from why no six-inch figures were included as tiers to their thoughts on if this will fund (with just 10 days to go)! Watch now to get all the insights into this 2023 Haslab crowdfunding campaign.
The fourth Hasbro Marvel Legends HasLab is live! After last year's misfire with the Ghost Rider Engine of Vengeance, Hasbro goes back to what has worked before: big action figures! But this is the smallest of the three Legends HasLab figures...and comes in at the smallest price. On this Marvelicious Toys One-Shot, Marjorie, Arnie, and Justin convene to review this highly-articulated big fig and decide whether they're going to back this project (and, if so, for how many)! Also on this new episode, a discussion of Hasbro deciding to return to window-packaging, a look at the Street Humans toy line Kickstarter, and much more!
If you collect Marvel Legends 2022 has been a big year! There have been over 130 figures released, many of which were deluxe or box sets. Plenty of retro carded Legends figures right next to waves from the Marvel Cinematic Universe--Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Thor: Love and Thunder plus What If... and more. And then, of course, a planet-eater (and shelf space-eater) arrived: the Haslab Galactus. Now let's celebrate what a year it's been! Join Justin, Arnie, and guest host Matt "Big Nerdy" from Nerdzoic as they look at the best figures, best paint job, best articulation, and the best Galactus of 2022!
Shopping for Marvel fans can be a challenge. What do they have? What do they want? How could someone know what's new that someone would be shocked by? To the rescue comes Marvelicious Toys' 13th Annual SWEET CHRISTMAS Holiday Gift Guide! From Advent Calendars to Prop Replicas, $5 stocking stuffers to $500 Hot Toys, we run down the super items that you can give (or hope to get) this holiday season! Join Arnie, Marjorie, and Justin now to help make someone's holiday a bit more MARVEL-ous!
With no sales booth at SDCC Hasbro's Marvel Legends exclusive went online. It was the Mojoworld box set with Mojo (sporting a deluxe paint job), Longshot, Dazzler, and....a chibi Wolverine? These exclusive sets are arriving now from Hasbro Pulse, and Arnie, Marjorie, and Justin have theirs in-hand. Join them on this episode for an in-depth review of these figures, and how it compares to the Toy Biz release. Also on this episode, the new Marvel game is taking the internet by storm. Marvel Snap is a card-battler that takes only a couple minutes to play, but can become a time-consuming obsession! Arnie gives an in-depth look and review of this game. With a Haslab Hellcharger post-mortem, a follow-up on the Marvel Unlimited exclusive Daredevil figure, and more, it's all in this new issue of the Marvelicious Toys podcast (and video podcast)!
For Hasbro's third Marvel themed Haslab they took a hard left turn from previous offerings. Instead of a giant figure like Galactus and the Sentinel, the Hasbro Marvel team is putting the pedal to the metal with Robbie Reyes and the Engine of Vengeance (aka the HellCharger). Join our hosts to find out if this $350 car is fire or if they should have pumped the brakes. Also in this show, a new Marvel Unlimited exclusive Marvel Legends figure was announced, and it may have you seeing double. Our hosts Dare to find the Devil in the details on this figure, and weigh in on if it's a must-have. With a report on D23, some Legend-ary clothing and more, it's all in this Marvelicious Toys podcast!
It's been three years since the last proper San Diego Comic-Con International. Now, finally, this week it makes its return for 2022, and likely 120,000 fans will gather. Yet, this will be a different feeling SDCC (and not just because of mask mandates). Hasbro has no sales booth, and no Marvel exclusive. The Hasbro Marvel panel is Friday, not Saturday. Mezco also is sitting out on exclusives this year. Companies like DC, Warner Bros., and others are sitting the convention out entirely. Yet there's still much to get excited for. Justin, Arnie, and Marjorie detail it all in this issue of Marvelicious Toys! They list every announced exclusive, from a 12" Man-Thing to a tiny Toynk pin, and not one but two blue Iron Man figures. Also on this week's show, a brief (spoilery) discussion of Thor: Love and Thunder, plus some collectibles and tie-ins that will make your eyes sparkle. All this and Shrinkey-Dinks too are in this pre-SDCC Marvelicious Toys!
Hasbro's got their Mojo workin…does it work on you? An exciting livestream revealed a slew of unexpected figures, including Spider-Man from the '70s Japanese TV Series, a Mojoworld four-pack, Morph from the '90s X-Men Animated Series, a giant Sentinel to go with the Retro 3.75" Line, and more! Our hosts run down the most exciting updates on this episode. Plus…Marvel Legends for under $3? That's right! Watch now to find out what stores have figures at the lowest price ever…and what stores are raising prices fastest. Have you ever wanted a Marvel Legend of yourself? Maybe in Iron Man's armor, or Spider-Man's spandex suit? It seems that may be coming with the Selfie Series of Legends figures! Expected to be revealed at SDCC, tune into Marvelicious Toys now for an early look at this new 3D printed figure. With a look back at Toy Fair 2006, the newly rereleased Diamond Select Toys Watcher figure, a review of Doctor Strange, and a lot of anticipation for Thor: Love and Thunder, you'll find it all in this episode of Marvelicious Toys! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/marvelicioustoys/support
Hasbro broke new ground with the Sentinel Haslab project. It set records for the biggest Haslab response (until beaten by the Hasbro Galactus a year later). It became the largest Marvel Legends figure of all time. It could be Master Mold, Tri-Sentinel, Battle Damaged, or regular. It was an ambitious project, preceded by awe-inspiring online tease photos. Was it too ambitious? On this Marvelicious Toys, join Arnie, Justin, and Marjorie for a hands-on review of the Sentinel, as well as the included Sentinel Prime/Bastion and Female Sentinel Prime 6-inch figures. Is the Sentinel worth the hype (and possibly the after-market eBay pricing)? Find out now! Also on this show, hear our hosts give a contemporaneous review to Sony's Venom: Let there Be Carnage It's all in this brand-new Marvelicious Toys episode! We knew it was coming...now we know what it looks like: Hasbro's plastic-free packaging. This step towards sustainable packaging is certainly making waves among those who like to keep their figures mint in package. (Some people even buy extra plastic to protect Hasbro's paper-and-plastic packaging). On this new podcast our hosts react to the first look at the plastic-free figure packages. Then, in an exclusive interview, Arnie and Justin talk to Hasbro's Marvel Team of Dan, Ryan, and Dwight to see what this means for retro carded figures, build-a-figures, and more! Also on this show, there's a new sub-line of Legends: the Marvel Studios Legacy Collection. These rereleased figures have paint updates, but no build-a-figures. Our hosts debate if they're worth your dollars. With a look at the 60th Anniversary Spider-Man figures, a Strange popcorn bucket, some love for No Way Home, and much more, it's all in this all-new Marvelicious Toys! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/marvelicioustoys/support
Welcome to the Marvelicious Toys 12th Annual Holiday Gift Guide! In this issue Justin, Marjorie, and Arnie run down over 100 products that any Marvel fan would be proud to own. Action figures! Statues! Books! Toothbrushes? Games! Find the perfect gift for the Marvel fan in your life (even if it's yourself!) in this all new Marvelicious Toys podcast. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/marvelicioustoys/support
The Marvel team at Hasbro must wish they weren't working remotely. They could just walk into the office, drop a microphone, and walk out again. For the second time in a row they not only broke the HasLab funding records (in dollars AND backers), they smashed through it and just kept going. Not only is the Galactus HasLab funded, we are also getting the Nova figure, the Silver Surfer figure, the Morg figure, and an alternate Doctor Doom head! In this podcast Justin, Marjorie, and Arnie have a postmortem on Galactus. It was a smash success, but could it have done even better? We dissect the HasLab from start to funding to finish. Also in this week's show, the Hasbro team of Dwight Stall, Dan Yun, and Ryan Ting sat down with Arnie for a 20-minute exclusive interview. They talk retro 3.75-inch figures, retro Legends, Galactus, and more. Finally, Hasbro has revealed their waves for the next two MCU movies -- The Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The hosts react to these reveals and ask the Eternals question: "who wants figures in ornate robes?" With a discussion of next month's PulseCon and more, it's all in this week's Marvelicious Toys! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/marvelicioustoys/support
Justin, Marjorie, and Arnie are back and counting to Five, Electric Company style! Everyone does end-of-year best-of lists, but who does them in August? Marvelicious Toys! Join the hosts as they count down their favorite five figures so far in 2021, and the five they're anticipating most! Some of these selections will surprise you! Also in this new show, an update on the Galactus Haslab. It's clawing towards its funding goal. The hosts discuss their hopes, but why is the number so high? Hasbro's Steve Evans gives an answer. With the exciting news of the Haslab Sentinels getting ready to ship and more, it's all on this new Marvelicious Toys! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/marvelicioustoys/support
Welcome back to the all new Marvelicious toys! Evil forces conspired to stop our podcasting heroes from continuing their quest to help Marvel collectors worldwide, but with great podcasts come great responsibility. So Arnie, Justin, and Marjorie have clawed their way out of Kraven's shallow grave and are back to celebrate all things Marvel collecting! And there is much to celebrate, Hasbro announced their second Marvel Legends HasLab project: Galactus! If funded this will be the biggest Marvel Legends figure ever...but it has the steepest HasLab goal ever as well. Our hosts devour this new announcement and share their thoughts in this episode. Also in this podcast, Hasbro Marvel team members Dwight Stall, Dan Yun, and Ryan Ting join Arnie and Justin for an exclusive 20-minute interview. Hear them talk about cancelled figures, Legends dream projects (including dioramas!), the tricks of translucence, and so much more. With a MCU-wrap up with Black Widow and Loki and much, much more, it's all in this jam packed, all-new all-different Marvelicious Toys podcast!
Did you get what you wanted for Christmas? On the Marvelicious holiday we enjoyed a Spider-Ham...no, not for Christmas dinner, but as part of the new Spider-Verse wave of Marvel Legends! This wave was supposed to come out in 2021, but it seems the Toy Gods knew we needed something good in 2020, so this wave came early! On this podcast Justin, Arnie, and Marjorie look at Miles Morales, Peter B. Parker, Spider-Ham, Spider-Gwen, and Prowler, as well as non-Spider-Verse figures of a Hand Ninja, Frog-Man, and the wave's Build-A-Figure...Stilt-Man! With a look at the newly announced 2021 M.O.D.O.K. Legends Deluxe Figure, the House of X/Powers of X wave of figures, and the much wanted Ms. Lion figure (with bonus Firestar), it's all in this unexpected, bonus Marvelicious Toys podcast!
It's time for the podcast version of your Holiday Gift Wishbook--the Marvelicious Toys 10th Annual Holiday Gift Guide! Justin, Arnie, Marjorie, and the entire Marvelicious team have come up with dozens of items, and we guarantee at least one of them will be perfect for the Marvel fan in your life. Or maybe you'll see some things for yourself and there's nothing wrong with some self-care this holiday season! So join us as we find the cool, the unusual, and simply the best gifts for 2020!
When planning this year's releases, Marvel, Sony, and Hasbro all had good reason to believe Morbius would have come out last July and, a few weeks ago, we'd all have flocked to theaters to see Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage. That's not how things worked out but we still have the symbiotic joy of Hasbro's latest Venom wave of Marvel Legends figures. With a movie-styled Venom, comic-styled Morbius, and a slew of other slimy symbiotes, join Marjorie, Justin, and Arnie as they review all these figures. Including the massive Venompool Build-A-Figure, and the Walmart exclusive Venomized Captain America! Also on this show, the hosts run down the latest Hasbro reveals including next year's Into the Spider-Verse wave of Legends. All this and more in an exciting new Marvelicious Toys podcast.
Hasbro's Marvel team is full of surprises--and they love surprising their fans. For example, did anyone see the Marvel line going 3.75-inch figures with five points of articulation? Yet that's the case with the new Retro figure line. Join the party with Arnie, Marjorie, and Justin in this show. Another surprise...did the world need a fourth Marvel Legends Role-Play Captain America shield? It just might... our hosts look into what makes this new shield release special. With some really hard to find...purses? Plus New Mutants home media release and more, it's all in this new Marvelicious Toys podcast!
One of the greatest things about being a collector is the sense of community had with other collectors. Facebook groups, site forums, Twitter, and more has brought collectors together to talk toys and more, but there's truly no substitute for a massive gathering of fans and friends like that had every year at San Diego Comic-Con. Except this year. With no mass gathering in San Diego toy companies took to the internet to announce, and put up for order, the latest Marvel toys. On this Marvelicious Toys podcast, join Marjorie, Arnie, and Captain Justin look at the announcements from Hasbro, Hot Toys, and more! We also look at the soon to be released (ever to be released?) New Mutants movie and the first scenes revealed in their Comic-Con International panel. Plus - Marvel's Avengers beta is out for X-Box One and PS4. It's been sold as the next major event game from Marvel, the successor to the smash PS4 hit Marvel's Spider-Man. Yet the development company is different, as is the game's entire goal. How does it play? Arnie gives the rundown in this issue of the Marvelicious Toys podcast!
Marvel Legends are having a moment. The Marvel Legends Sentinel isn't the first HasLab, but in just one weekend it became the biggest! Store exclusives sell out in a blink. The line releases over 100 figures per year. Fans just can't get enough. On this Marvelicious Toys podcast Justin and Arnie sit down with some of the people who make this all possible: Senior Brand Manager Ryan Ting, Associate Brand Manager Dan Yun, and Senior Design Manager Dwight Stall. Join them as they discuss all things Legends, from Hasbro's early offerings in 2006 through the HasLab Sentinel and more! It's a wide-ranging 30 minute interview that's not to be missed. Also in this episode, Marjorie, Justin and Arnie discuss the HasLab Sentinel now that they've had time to ruminate on it (and order it). We discuss the new UK exclusive Marvel Legends Endgame wave. And there's a look at Square Enix's new, gorgeous Marvel Bring Arts figures. All that and more in this new Marvelicious Toys podcast!
(Originally published on Marvelicious Toys' YouTube Channel July 10, 2020) Last week Hasbro announced their first Marvel Legends Croudfunding project: The Haslab Sentinel. Over 2-feet tall with light-up features and massive articulation. It ships in Fall 2021 after blowing through its funding goal! What makes this so awesome? Join Arnie, Marjorie, and Justin for this reaction video. Hear their reactions as Hasbro's team announces the Sentinel and then their post-announcement wrap-up!
Thanks to Hasbro's Marvel Legends Gamerverse figures, you can recreate the fun of Marvel's Avengers video game on your shelf! With Ms. Marvel, Captain America, Iron Man, and the build-a-figure Abomination the game comes to life! Wait…there's no game yet? So…if we don't love (or even know) the game yet, what's the imputus to buy these figures? Are they great toys independant from any delayed video game? On this Marvelicious Toys Justin, Arnie, and Marjorie review the entire Avengers Gamerverse wave of Legends with four figures based on the upcoming game, and four figures from the pages of Marvel Comics. Plus a look at Jada's Hollywood Rides cars, Venomverse toys, and more…follow The Leader figure and watch our new show now!
Hasbro's Marvel team blew away fans at 2020's New York Toy Fair. Several times during their presentation Hasbro's Dwight Stall, Dan Yun, and Ryan Ting could have dropped the mic and walked away. Sugar Man build-a-figure! X-Men movie figures! New articulation with no peg holes! Yet the surprises and reveals kept coming, up to teasing a massive Haslab crowd-sourcing project. On this issue of the Marvelicious Toys Podcast, hear our exclusive interview with Dwight and Ryan. Then hear a second interview with the inclusion of Dan and Master Model Artist Tony Colella. It's over 40 minutes of talking toys and Marvel Comics with Hasbro's team. Then Arnie, Marjorie, and Justin unravel all Hasbro's reveals, helping you keep track of which stores offer which exclusives, what waves are coming, and what you can order now. It's a jam-packed, double-sized podcast, and it's only Part 1 of our 2020 Toy Fair coverage!
We are just a few days away from New York Toy Fair International where the biggest toy companies will reveal the toys that we'll be hunting for all year. Marvelicious Toys will be there to bring you live coverage from Hasbro, LEGO, Mezco and more! And while we wait for the big show, Justin, Marjorie, and Arnie are here in this new episode of Marvelicious Toys to review the first Marvel Legends wave of 2020--The Fantastic Four (Plus Dr. Doom and Hulk). All this and more in this issue of Marvelicious Toys!
Take a moment and reflect... If you collect Marvel Legends you are right now in a golden era. The number of figures, and variety, is unparalleled for a 6-inch scale line. In 2019 Hasbro released 135 different, highly articulated and detailed figures (counting the Dani Moonstar Walgreens exclusive as three). The figures covered the MCU, the 616, and more, with X-Men fans getting their due (finally), and deep dive figures such as Rock Python and Living Laser. This is a heyday. Star Wars collectors had this type of generous release (in 3.75-inch scale) from 2005 through 2012, and now get less than 25 figures per year. So understand that sometime in the future, collectors will look back and realize this was the best time ever for Marvel collectors. On this new episode of the Marvelicious Toys podcast Arnie, Marjorie, and Justin do reflect on the excess of riches that Dwight Stall (Senior Design Manager), Ryan Ting (Senior Global Brand Manager), Bobby Vala (Senior Product Designer) and the rest of the Hasbro Marvel team delivered in 2019, and run down their favorite figures from the year. What was the best MCU figure? The best multi-pack? The best Build-A-Figure? They give their picks for all of that and more on this week's Marvelicious Toys. Watch the show and then give us your thoughts -- what were your favorites this year? Let us know in the comments on our web site.
As the 2010s come to a close many take this time to reflect on the past. For Marvel collectors it's been a CRAZY decade! In 2010 Hasbro was hardly making any Marvel Legends figures, choosing to focus on their 3.75" Marvel Universe line. That changed in 2012 with the rebirth of Marvel Legends, and an explosion of figures. One of the hallmarks of the Marvel Legends line is its Build-A-Figure concept: buy all the figures to build another, usually much larger, figure. It started with Toybiz in 2002, and continues to this day. Watch this episode of Marvelicious Toys to revisit the Build-A-Figures of the past, with a specific focus on Hasbro's releases. From Annihilus to Bro Thor, and every single one in between--it's all in this special Marvelicious Toys!
