Où travaillent les ingénieurs aujourd'hui ? Quels métiers évoluent ou disparaissent ? Comment le numérique et la transition énergétique impactent-ils le métier ?Pour répondre à ces questions, nous recevons Marc Rumeau et Christine Quinola. Marc Rumeau est président d'IESF (Ingénieurs et Scientifiques de France), une association fondée en 1848 qui représente 175 des associations d'alumnis d'écoles d'ingénieurs en France. Il est ingénieur et a fait toute sa carrière dans des entreprises dans le domaine des automatismes, de l'électronique puis de la sécurité électronique et incendie. Christine Quinola est secrétaire générale d'IESF. Elle a été ingénieure dans la pétrochimie et aujourd'hui, elle a fondé Calliroxe, son entreprise de formations en gestion de projet.Panorama des ingénieurs en France [1:36 – 15:36]Pour dresser un panorama de la profession, IESF réalise chaque année une enquête nationale via son Comité Observatoire des ingénieurs, pour laquelle elle interroge environ 55 000 ingénieurs. L'enquête 2021 a révélé que les ingénieurs se trouvaient dans tous les secteurs et pas uniquement l'industrie, et que la part de femmes continuait à stagner à 24%. Géographiquement parlant, les ingénieurs français sont à 85% sur le territoire français, mais beaucoup travaillent sur des projets à l'internationalAfin d'évoluer dans sa carrière, Christine Quinola souligne la nécessité du réseau, favorisée par des associations comme IESF. Cette fédération encourage la force d'entraide entre les alumnis et accompagner les personnes qui veulent progresser dans leur métier. Nos invités revendiquent l'importance de la curiosité dans ce métier, qui permet de se former tout le long de sa carrière.L'évolution des métiers d'ingénieur [15.37 – 34:38]Plus qu'une disparition de métiers, Marc Rumeau parle de leur évolution et de la nécessité d'un accompagnement dans ces bouleversements. Parmi les domaines émergeants, l'hydrogène, mais aussi la data. Christine Quinola temporise et rappelle le besoin de traiter les données de manière intelligente, faisant émerger de nouvelles compétences, comme celui de data scientist. La transition numérique bouleverse les métiers, comme la transition énergétique. Pour le président d'IESF, il s'agit surtout de trouver des solutions pour le développement durable. Christine Quinola souhaite aussi mettre en avant le mix énergétique comme un secteur qui va fortement recruter. Initialement réfractaire à travailler dans le domaine du pétrole, elle reconnait finalement que ses valeurs écologiques personnelles lui ont permis de changer les choses dans ce milieu, notamment en s'assurant que les normes étaient respectées. Nos deux invités comptent sur les ingénieurs, scientifiques, doctorants français pour participer à la création d'un monde plus durable, mais ils regrettent que leurs compétences ne soient pas suffisamment exploitées.Par ailleurs, d'autres spécialisations ne sont pas assez présentes en France. C'est le cas des experts techniques, tout domaine confondu, et des spécialistes en jumeau numérique.
