Live around 5 p.m. Post-Gazette Steelers insider Paul Zeise ponders what the Steelers should do with linebacker Nick Herbig now that the dust has mostly settled on their NFL free agency moves. Should GM Omar Khan, coach Mike McCarthy and DC Patrick Graham look to give the four-year veteran a contract extension? Or are outside linebackers already taking up too big a piece of the salary cap with T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith already making big money? Is Herbig a potential building block for the defensive alongside fellow young players like Joey Porter Jr., Payton Wilson, Derrick Harmon, Jack Sawyer and Keeanu Benton? Or could the Steelers find another solid depth rusher within this NFL draft class? Paul tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Calvin Austin looks to be on the road back and that may factor in receiver snap counts. High optimism on T.J Watt being in the lineup vs Baltimore. The continuing discussion around the future of Mike Tomlin & his thoughts on the upcoming AFC North showdown on Sunday.
Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo recap coach Mike Tomlin's weekly news conference ahead of an NFL Week 18 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens that will decide the AFC North. They explain that Calvin Austin III, T.J. Watt, James Pierre, Isaac Seumalo and Brandin Echols are all trending in positive directions on the injury front but that Watt, at least, may be limited in terms of snap count. They also ponder ways OC Arthur Smith can boost the offense after an ugly outing in Week 17 against the Browns. Could we see QB Aaron Rodgers attempt to use a higher tempo to keep the Ravens off-balance in the absence of DK Metcalf? Will the play calls be more sensible on crucial downs? And will RB Kenneth Gainwell be more involved without having Myles Garrett to worry about on the blocking front? Our duo tackles those questions and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. On the Tuesday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel, host Noah Hiles welcomes Post-Gazette Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo to look ahead to the team's NFL Week 18 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens that will determine the AFC North race. Will T.J. Watt be available for coach Mike Tomlin's defense with the season on the line? Or will DC Teryl Austin need to rely on Alex Highsmith, Jack Sawyer and Nick Herbig at outside linebacker onces again? And if so, are those guys ready for the challenge of slowing elite Ravens running back Derrick Henry? Our duo tackles those questions, then talks offense. How can OC Arthur Smith and QB Aaron Rodgers get more out of the unit than we saw last week against the Browns? Especially with DK Metcalf and possibly Darnell Washington out of action? Can they compensate with personnel like Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Adam Thielen, Scotty Miller, Pat Freiermuth and others? And get RBs Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell more involved? Live around 5 p.m., Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise reacts to the Steelers' NFL Week 17 loss to the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field. He gives his thoughts on whether he feels coach Mike Tomlin, OC Arthur Smith, QB Aaron Rodgers and the offense focused too closely on stopping Myles Garrett from breaking T.J. Watt's single-season sack record, at the expense of productivity. He also gives his reasons for why players including Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Adam Thielen, Pat Freiermuth, Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell had ineffective days in the absence of DK Metcalf despite the Browns entering the game with a lousy record. Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo report from the team's practice facility ahead of its NFL Week 16 matchup with the Detroit Lions. Gerry and Ray identified getting pressure on Lions QB Jared Goff as one of the main keys to victory, so how will Jack Sawyer fare, as he's in line to start if T.J. Watt and Nick Herbig can't go due to injury? How would a good pass rush affect the game? Could DeMarvin Leal and Jeremiah Moon get involved? How will Derrick Harmon help the run defense against David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs? Is the secondary finding its footing with Asante Samuel Jr.? And what would a win here tell us about this team? Would it change the narrative heading into the postseason? Our duo tackles those topics and more. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. December 12, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 62 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning episode, Alex Kozora and I get right to talking about the latest concerning Pittsburgh Steelers OLB T.J. Watt, who is currently dealing with a lung issue that could prevent him from playing Monday night against the Miami Dolphins. Alex and I go over the Friday morning report from Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network about Watt and how he is allegedly dealing with a tiny hole in one of his lungs. The Steelers released their first injury report of Week 15 on Thursday, so Alex and I make sure to recap it early in this show. We discuss the possibility of T Andrus Peat and DT Derrick Harmon not playing on Monday night against the Dolphins. We also talk a little about the big opportunity that potentially awaits T Dylan Cook should he wind up making his first NFL start on Monday night should Peat wind up being unable to play. The Steelers made several transactions the last two days, so Alex and I make sure to recap those, which includes two offensive linemen being added to the practice squad and Cook being signed to the 53-man roster. On Thursday, we once again heard from two of the Steelers' coordinators, Arthur Smith and Teryl Austin, so Alex and I recap the main talking points to come out of those media sessions. Alex and I then give our picks against the spread for the remainder of the Week 15 NFL games provided by show sponsor MyBookie.ag. We will have our picks for the game between the Steelers and the Dolphins during the Monday episode. This 74-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted above and we end this episode by answering several emails we received from listeners. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Gerry Dulac and Ray Fittipaldo report from Thursday's practice at the team's facility ahead of its NFL Week 15 matchup with the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football. They start by breaking down the news that star outside linebacker T.J. Watt was in the hospital Thursday while being evaluated for a lung condition. While Watt's availability and status are up in the air, what will the Steelers defense look like if he can't go? Are Nick Herbig and Alex Highsmith prepared to step into that role? What about rookie Jack Sawyer? Who can help fill gaps as the Steelers prepare to face De'Von Achane and the strong Dolphins run game? What's with this streak of facing some of the NFL's best rushing attacks? And what is Derrick Harmon's status, as he revealed Thursday he's dealing with the same knee that caused him to miss games early in the season but a different injury?
