NFL Week 10 Power Rankings: Quinnen to Cowboys, Sauce to Colts, Bills on Top

Missing the Point

The NFL trade deadline has come and gone, and the league looks completely different. MTP Power Rankings hosts Dave Clarke and Bob Kelly are here to break down every blockbuster trade, every questionable move, and every new contender as we head into Week 10 of the 2025 NFL season. The Jets blew it up in dramatic fashion — Sauce Gardner traded to the Colts, Quinnen Williams shipped to the Cowboys, and Breece Hall rumored to be the next big name on the move. Dave calls it the biggest in-season rebuild in years, while Bobby questions whether either trade actually moves the needle. Did the Colts overpay for star power? Can Quinnen Williams fix a Cowboys defense that just got embarrassed by the Cardinals? The guys also break down the rest of the trade deadline deals: Rashid Shaheed heads to the Seahawks to give Sam Darnold more speed on offense to pair with Cooper Kupp and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Jakobi Meyers heads to Jacksonville, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling brings veteran experience to the Steelers offense. Dave argues that Pittsburgh made one of the smartest under-the-radar moves of the deadline, while Bobby calls it “too little, too late.” Then, it’s on to the rankings — and there’s a major shakeup at the top.The Buffalo Bills reclaim the #1 spot after a statement win over the Kansas City Chiefs, dominating on both sides of the ball. The Buccaneers and Eagles stay steady at two and three, while the Patriots continue to climb behind Drake Maye’s control and maturity under Mike Vrabel’s leadership. The Rams, Colts, and Lions round out a competitive top tier, while teams like the Broncos and Seahawks are quietly building resumes that can’t be ignored. The Bears are another story — shocking the Bengals in what Dave calls “the craziest game of the season.” They praise Caleb Williams for his ability to deliver under pressure and highlight DJ Moore’s near-touchdown that flipped the game. But Bobby doesn’t let the special teams off the hook, calling their kickoff coverage “unacceptable.” Both agree Chicago’s arrow is pointing up, but they still need cleaner execution to stay in playoff contention. Other topics include the Packers’ embarrassing loss to the Panthers, Steelers’ defensive turnaround, and Bo Nix’s underrated run in Denver. The guys agree this season feels more unpredictable than ever, with few dominant teams and plenty of parity across the league. Dave also takes aim at the officiating inconsistencies and revisits the debate over the “tush push” — calling for a rule change after too many controversial calls. By the end of the episode, every team gets its place: contenders, pretenders, and those officially crossed off for the season. Would Steelers' Omar Khan signing Asante Samuel Jr. make up for quiet NFL trade deadline?

On the Thursday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by FanDuel and Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette sports columnist Paul Zeise to analyze reports that free agent CB Asante Samuel Jr. will visit the Steelers next week. Would GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin securing a deal with the veteran make up for their quiet NFL trade deadline? Or would it still be reasonable for fans to want to see more new faces beyond Kyle Dugger and Marquez Valdes-Scantling? What are the chances Sameul ever arrives here considering broad interest in him from teams around the league? If the Steelers miss out, will they regret not adding a CB next to Jalen Ramsey, Joey Porter Jr. and Darius Slay Jr.? And what should we make of reports saying Khan was close to completing a deal for Jakobi Meyers or another WR to pair with DK Metcalf as a weapon for Aaron Rodgers? Our duo tackles those questions and takes stock of the Steelers' place in the AFC pecking order. Were the wins against the Colts and Patriots flukes because of the many turnovers generated in those games? And what will it say about this team if it can win in NFL Week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers? Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The Steelers newest addition is in town and was at practice. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, an old friend of Aaron Rodgers, was chatting with the media today. MVS also sounds like a guy that will be in the lineup sooner rather than later and not just hanging out at practice. We also got news that Asante Samuel Jr. is visiting the Steelers next week. A reason the Steelers may not have traded a 4th round pick yesterday is due to the record Omar Khan has drafting in that round – which has yet to have a clear miss in 3 years. The San Francisco 49ers have officially revealed their final 53-man roster for the 2025 NFL season, and there are plenty of surprises, tough cuts, and big roster questions heading into Week 1. Quarterbacks Brock Purdy and Mac Jones lead the offense, while the backfield is stacked with Christian McCaffrey, Isaac Guerendo, Jordan James, and Brian Robinson. But the roster news doesn't come without controversy. The wide receiver room is dangerously thin, with just Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall fully healthy after Brandon Aiyuk landed on the PUP list and Jacob Cowing is expected to go on IR. Veterans like Russell Gage, Chosen Anderson, DeMarcus Robinson, and Jeff Wilson Jr. were among the most notable roster cuts, leaving serious depth concerns. Could the 49ers look to free agents like Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Hunter Renfrow, or Robert Woods to fill the void?On defense, the Niners kept a loaded group on the defensive line with Nick Bosa, Bryce Huff, Mykel Williams, Alfred Collins, Yetur Gross-Matos, and more, but surprise cuts like Trevis Gipson raised eyebrows. At linebacker, Fred Warner anchors the core with Dee Winters and Nick Martin, while the secondary is led by Deommodore Lenoir, Ji'Ayir Brown, and Jason Pinnock. We'll break down every position group, the most shocking roster moves, the biggest winners and losers from cut day, and which free agent targets could be brought in to bolster depth before Week 1. Can the 49ers overcome injuries and suspensions to remain a Super Bowl contender in 2025?This is your full 49ers 53-man roster reaction and breakdown — let's dive in!

In this clip from the Thursday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, presented by Edgar Snyder & Associates, host Adam Bittner welcomes Post-Gazette insider Christopher Carter to react to the team's roster decisions at the wide receiver position. Have GM Omar Khan and coach Mike Tomlin closed the door on a move for an outside WR2? With names like Amari Cooper and Marquez Valdes-Scantling off the market and Gabe Davis still not getting an offer despite multiple visits to the team? Are Roman Wilson, Calvin Austin III and others enough behind DK Metcalf? Especially in the event of injury? How much can OC Arthur Smith's offense really rely on tight ends like Jonnu Smith, Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington in the passing game? And can 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers effectively distribute the ball to all of those targets? Our duo tackles those questions and more.

Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it's the team's interest in signing free agent wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Valdes-Scantling spent four years playing with Aaron Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers, but that's not the only reason that he's a good fit for the Steelers. He's also still, even at 30 years old, a productive deep threat that can stretch the field and take defensive attention away from the team's other options. Alan breaks it down. RUNDOWN   Nugget ice machines, clinking noises, and bizarre celebrity rumors (yes, even LeAnn Rimes' teeth). The warm-up turns nostalgic as the show celebrates musical birthdays for Billy Ray Cyrus, Gene Simmons, and Elvis Costello. And what about the chaos of late August sports: college football's return, the NFL looming, and the Mariners somehow both collapsing and contending at the same time? Hotshot recounts the fantasy football fiasco that ended his playing days back in 2007, while Mitch embraces his role as a “passionate pessimist” when it comes to Seattle baseball. And through it all, one bright spot remains—Brian Woo quietly posting Cy Young–level consistency, even if the voters never notice. Mitch interviews Nancy King, who was just 16 when a family trip to Seattle in August 1964 turned into the story of a lifetime. From checking into the Beatles' hotel, to a chance encounter with a Liverpool journalist, to being ushered into a private room where she spent 30 unforgettable minutes with John, Paul, George, and Ringo — Nancy recounts how one magical evening reshaped her life and inspired decades of storytelling. CBS analyst and Rose Bowl–winning coach Rick Neuheisel joins Mitch to open another season of weekly college football chats, breaking down the new 12-team playoff format, the looming SEC and Big Ten power plays, and the frenzy around Arch Manning's Texas debut in Columbus. He weighs in on Washington's year-two outlook under Jedd Fisch, Heisman dark horses, and makes his first official “Rick's Pick” of 2025 — with Oregon and LSU circled for January glory. Mitch welcomes back Joe Doyle and Brady Farkas for episode 348 of this Mariners No-Table segment, where the trio dissects Seattle's uneven road trip, a roster struggling against lefties, and what Cal Raleigh's historic home run pace means for the franchise. With Padres, Guardians, and Rays looming, the group debates roster moves, Harry Ford's September call-up chances, and whether the Mariners are missing their moment to bury Houston.   GUESTS   Nancy King | Eyewitness to the Beatles' 1964 Seattle stay and lifelong storyteller of that night at the Edgewater Hotel Rick Neuheisel | CBS College Football Analyst, Former Head Coach & Rose Bowl Champion Brady Farkas | Host, Refuse to Lose Podcast (Mariners on SI) Joe Doyle | MLB Draft & Mariners Analyst, Over Slot Substack   TABLE OF CONTENTS   0:00 | From Nugget Ice to Beatles Nights 21:56 | Passionate Pessimists, Fantasy-Free Since '07, and Mariners in the Madness 35:30 | GUEST: Nancy King; From North Dakota to the Edgewater: A Teenager's Night With the Beatles 1:05:25 | GUEST: Rick Neuheisel; Kicks Off College Football: Playoff Paths, Arch Madness, and Husky Hopes 1:34:28 | GUEST: Mariners No-Table; Mariners No-Table: Clunky Rosters, Cal Raleigh's Power Surge, and a Crucial Week Ahead 2:02:21 | Other Stuff Segment: Chinese Taipei wins Little League World Series, Issaquah loses to eventual softball champion Texas, Seahawks preseason struggles & roster cuts (Marquez Valdes-Scantling uncertainty), Lee Corso's final College GameDay broadcast, John Wall retires from NBA, Bengals Ring of Honor controversy (Boomer Esiason email & Corey Dillon snub), Roger Federer declared billionaire via On Running stake, Nolan Bushnell turns down 1/3 of Apple for $50K, Sean Kemp sentenced to 30 days home detention, Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant card sells for $12.93M, Ro Crowder rearrested for sniffing strangers, Bellevue Pickleball Club opening.
