The Pittsburgh Steelers' 24-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals is a sign of bigger problems for the playoff hopeful AFC North team. Mike Tomlin and his team looked flat and disjointed against a team they should've beaten. Kenny Pickett's now injured, which means Mitch Trubisky will have to start for the next few games. But it won't matter if the team doesn't have any of its stars step up in big moments to prevent letdowns like Sunday. Are the Steelers out of the playoff race? No. But they're also not in a comfortable position either after losing a game to maybe the easiest opponent left on its schedule. If the Steelers can't find some element to depend upon to pull itself out of bad spurts like they had Sunday, it could lead to them missing the playoffs, and losing the locker room. Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast. The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 16-10 Sunday, with Kenny Pickett and Najee Harris showing new hope for the offense. In their first game without Matt Canada at offensive coordinator, the offense gained over 400 yards for the first time since 2020. The structure of the offense under new offensive coordinator Eddie Faulkner and play caller Mike Sullivan showed a real future for the offense to improve in the coming weeks. Pickett didn't throw a touchdown, but he had one of the best games he's played this season, while Harris ran hard and the offensive line blocked well to control the ball. Chris Carter explains why the offense's performance is sustainable, can be improved upon, and could very well be the start of the Steelers being a real AFC threat. Also, the Steelers' defense had another great game. They have now held opponents to 20 points or less for seven straight games, and are a top 10 scoring NFL defense. T.J. Watt continues his Hall of Fame career with 2 more sacks to give him 13.5 on the season, and the defense wins with backups everywhere. Defensive coordinator Teryl Austin deserves more respect for what he's done this season. Chris Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast. The Pittsburgh Steelers lost 13-10 to the Cleveland Browns, and Kenny Pickett is running out of time to figure out the offense. It was another game when the passing offense looks uncoordinated. That's on Pickett, Matt Canada, and Mike Tomlin. But the Steelers' offense ran the ball better than any opponent had against the Browns all season as Jaylen Warren ran behind a line that created a lot of space on the ground, especially behind Broderick Jones. Is time running out for Pickett to figure it out with this offense? Also, Mike Tomlin continues to dodge the issue in the Steelers' press conferences, and won't call out Pickett or Canada for the offensive issues. Najee Harris seemed very frustrated with the offense, and it continues to look like Tomlin is trying to hide what the the problem is with the offense. Could that lead to an implosion of the Steelers' locker room? The defense looks good, and did enough for the Steelers to win. The Steelers' defense continues to trend upwards with Elandon Roberts playing well, Patrick Peterson coming around, and Keeanu Benton improving with the defensive line. Could that be the key for the Steelers to compete down the rest of the season for the AFC North?
