On today's episode of Good Guy / Bad Guy, Chael & DC continue the conversation centered around the new UFC Middleweight champion, Khamzat Chimaev. Following his win vs Dricus Du Plessis, Khamzat told Chael that he should be the #1 Pound-4-Pound fighter in the UFC… Well, he came in at #4 this week, so do the guys believe that is the correct ranking or should he be higher? Khamzat Chimaev. Merab Dvalishvili. Kayla Harrison. These are just a few names that are UFC champions and their background is in wrestling. So that got DC + Chael thinking… Are we in the “era of the wrestler” in the UFC right now? Plus, what is the biggest fight the UFC can make right now; Khamzat vs Islam or Islam vs Ilia? Sticking with matchmaking, with two big fights booked at middleweight, who will come out the #1 contender? And, on the heels of the WWE x ESPN partnership announcement starting on September 20th with WWE Wrestlepalooza, WWE Superstar Bronson Reed joins the show! Learn more about your ad choices. Not sure how you're supposed to beat this guy Merab Dvalishvili at this point. Poison? Blow darts? The Dark Arts? Regular-ass fighting ain't working, as Sean O'Malley found out at UFC 316 on Saturday. Looked like O'Malley was trying to do the right things — stay off the cage, work the body, show improved takedown defense, get up when Merab put him on the mat. Didn't matter. Merab is just too good at what he does … and it seems like he's getting better at it. If he's gonna start throwing out nasty submissions now? Fuck it, shut it down. And then we gotta show Cory Sandhagen standing in the crowd looking like a middle school kid tryna act tough? Yeah, we're not loving that guy's chances. Plus, Kayla Harrison vs. Amanda Nunes? Give it to me, it's mine! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Merab Dvalishvili continued his dominate run in the Bantamweight division with his submission victory over Sean O'Malley at UFC 316 in a title rematch. He continues to get better with age and the fellas ponder how he can be stopped. Kayla Harrison claimed the Women's Bantamweight title defeating Julianna Peña via submission. Amanda Nunes could be next for Harrison in a highly-anticipated superfight. Patchy Mix made an underwhelming UFC debut against Mario Bautista. Is this proof that there's a huge gap between the UFC and every other MMA promotion or was Mix just outmatched? Plus drama with Keyshawn Davis after he didn't make weight and was stripped of his title when his match against Edwin De Los Santos was canceled. To top it off, he was ejected from the arena where his brother Kelvin Davis had just fought against Nahir Albright, after allegedly assaulting Albright post-match. With UFC 316 just days away, Matt and Jim welcome two fighters making their second appearances on Unfiltered: rising flyweight Joshua Van and heavy-hitting welterweight Khaos Williams. Kicking things off, Matt finally gets to meet 23-year-old prospect Joshua Van after missing his debut episode — and wastes no time bonding over Bruce Lee movies before breaking down Van's upcoming clash with veteran Bruno Silva. Focused and self-aware, Joshua explains why he's preparing for the best version of Silva — knowing how dangerous a fighter can be coming off a loss. In the middle of the show, the guys dive into the UFC 316 card — sharing thoughts on the title fights between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O'Malley, and Julianna Peña vs. Kayla Harrison — plus Kelvin Gastelum's return, Patchy Mix's Octagon debut, and Kevin Holland's wild schedule. Matt and Jim each make three official fight picks heading into Saturday's stacked show. Then it's time to catch up with Khaos Williams, who joins ahead of his short-notice bout against UFC newcomer Andreas Gustafsson. The welterweight striker reflects on his turbulent path — from getting jumped and stabbed in his younger years to a life-changing entry into MMA. Now 31, Khaos talks about staying grounded by embracing risk, investing in real estate, and focusing on long-term growth both in and out of the cage.
It's been a wild week in the world of MMA, and it began this past weekend prior to the scheduled UFC Vegas 107 main event between Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber, when the latter was forced to withdraw at the last minute due to a health emergency — and that was the beginning of the road to UFC 316 fight week. On an all-new edition of Between the Links, the panel reacts to the fallout of this past Saturday's headliner getting scratched, both fighters' comments since, and if it could be a massive fight for the UFC in the future. Additionally, they'll discuss Tom Aspinall publicly saying he's the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion and wishing Jon Jones the best in his "retirement," if the fight is officially off of life support and gone altogether, UFC 316 as a whole, if the card is good, Merab Dvalishvili vs. Sean O'Malley 2, Julianna Pena vs. Kayla Harrison and the rivalry growing by the day, and much more. Host Mike Heck moderates the matchup between MMA Fighting's Jed Meshew and multi-promotional commentator Ben "The Bane" Davis. The odds don't look very competitive headed into the dueling title fights atop Saturday's UFC 316. Merab Dvalishvili and Kayla Harrison are both pretty big favorites over their opponents (challenger Sean O'Malley and chalmpion Julianna Peña, respectively). The line on Harrison, in fact, is outlandish — though that fight is admittedly most interesting because of what a Kayla Harrison title reign might look like at women's bantamweight, not necessarily because we expect it to be close. As for O'Malley, is there anything he can do differently against Merab this time around? Aside from not J'ing the peen? Also, Maycee Barber couldn't make the walk last weekend. In and of itself, that doesn't seem like a HUGE deal. Buuuuut … is it indicative of larger, more dire issues with the UFC right now? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On today's episode of UFC Unfiltered, Jim Norton and Matt Serra are joined by two familiar friends of the show: lightweight Jared Gordon and women's bantamweight champion Julianna Peña. Fresh off a decisive first-round stoppage win, Jared breaks down the finish and reflects on how his recovery journey has strengthened his mindset inside the cage. After revealing he's now a proud girl dad to a 4-month-old daughter, Jared gets a laugh out of Matt's hilarious (and slightly scathing) story about a young YouTuber who kicked off their interview by asking Matt what it's like to be the same height as a kid — prompting Matt to jokingly offer up his daughter for a grappling match with the young content creator. Shortly after, Jim and Matt's interview with Julianna Peña kicks off with some sparks, as she joins mid-sentence — just as the guys are in the middle of complimenting her, saying she's not getting the respect she deserves ahead of UFC 316. Once they clear up the misunderstanding, the conversation shifts into an engaging breakdown of her matchup with Kayla Harrison. Julianna talks about being an underdog throughout her career, staying focused through the noise, and how she's preparing for Kayla's unique skill set. Plus, she weighs in on the looming possibility of a high-stakes trilogy with Amanda Nunes.
