Danielle Langlois joins the guys to talk about her new solo venture, Jambe Des Bois—a deeply personal label focused on small-lot, handcrafted wines. After years as the winemaker at Lasseter Family Winery, Danielle stepped away to pursue her own vision, working with fruit farmed by legendary grower Phil Coturri and a bit of Syrah from a Carneros vineyard her husband Dan tends himself. The conversation covers everything from Danielle's winemaking philosophy to the unique challenges and freedoms that come with striking out on your own. It's a great listen for anyone who loves Sonoma wines, respects vineyard-driven production, or just wants to support the folks doing it the hard way—by hand, in small batches, and with real intention. [EP 375] Follow along at @jambedesbois and, if you can find a bottle, grab one. These wines don't stick around long. jambedeboiswines.com

Today I sit down with Denis Langlois — father, climber, and dedicated route developer. Like many of us he balances climbing with a busy life of work and family. Denis found that bouldering gave him the most freedom. It let him climb on his own schedule — quick sessions, solo missions, and total flexibility. One day, while commuting to a job site, he passed through a narrow canyon next to his home town in in British Columbia, Canada..and something caught his eye… boulders — tons of them. Unclimbed and Untouched. Denis knew he had to come back.Fast forward to today — thanks to his vision and the help of a few committed locals, the Fraser Canyon is now home to more than 80 established boulder problems, ranging from V0 to V10, with development still ongoing. In this episode, we dive into the deep and layered history of Fraser Canyon — from the Gold Rush to its roots in Indigenous land. Denis shares his personal journey in climbing, how he fell in love with the area, and what it's been like developing a climbing destination from scratch. He's also teamed up with video producer Jesse Wheeler to create a beautiful short film about the canyon and its development — be sure to check that out after the show.I love having route developers on this show — these are the folks literally giving back to the community by creating more places for us to climb and they usually do so out of their own pocket with their own passion… So if you're ever heading up to Squamish, looking to avoid the crowds and try something new, make a stop in Fraser Canyon. Check out the boulders, soak in the views, and if you can, give Denis a shout — as I am sure he'd be stoked to show you around.----HELP SUPPORT THE SHOW & GET ACCESS TO EXCLUSIVE EPISODES! Marcy Langlois has demonstrated the utmost in resilience and transformation. http://bit.ly/3GYu36VSmithsonian Magazine, January 2023, By Chanan TigayThe discussion highlights the groundbreaking work of Mike Langlois, a scholar with an impressive range of expertise, including seven degrees and a deep focus on the Dead Sea Scrolls. His work involves using high-tech methods, such as sophisticated scanning and analysis techniques, to uncover forgeries in ancient religious texts. This process helps separate authentic writings from fraudulent ones, allowing for a clearer historical understanding.Langlois, alongside experts like Dr. Kip Davis, is advancing our knowledge by using modern technologies to scrutinize ancient documents that were once considered gospel truth. The Dead Sea Scrolls, discovered in caves decades ago, have been central to the study of biblical history, but the ability to verify their authenticity has only recently become possible thanks to these innovations. The team's work is crucial because it addresses the core issue of determining which documents are authentic and which are fabricated. The impact of these findings is felt not only in the realm of biblical studies but in other historical disciplines as well.A key aspect of the conversation is the ethical consideration surrounding these forgeries. If forgeries are not identified, they can skew historical data and influence the way cultures, faiths, and mythologies are understood. For believers, especially, the discovery of falsehoods within these documents can be a challenge. Some may resist accepting this new information because it conflicts with deeply held beliefs, but the goal of scholars like Langlois is to uncover the truth, regardless of personal belief systems. The technological advancements being used in this research represent a significant leap forward. While the methods are still evolving, the impact is already profound, offering an objective way to distinguish between authentic and fraudulent texts. The conversation also touches on the broader implications for critical scholarship in religious and historical studies. In conclusion, the exciting work of scholars like Langlois is opening doors for a more accurate understanding of ancient texts. Their efforts help bring clarity to the complex intersection of faith, history, and evidence, and they challenge us all to think critically about the information we encounter. The Non-Prophets, Episode 22.02 airing Sunday, 01-15-2023 featuring Secular Rarity, Richard Firth-Godbehere and Helen Greene.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-non-prophets--3254964/support.

Marcy Langlois is a Trauma Informed Coach who helps people transcend their pain into power, heal their trauma and their nervous system to recover for good. Marcy is also a trauma survivor, chronic illness warrior, and is over 20 years into her journey of sobriety. She now guides others to live beyond their limits through her coaching services, YouTube channel, and multiple other resources. Marcy shares how her own personal struggles began from the day she was born, facing many formidable difficulties, undergoing more than twenty surgical procedures to address her cleft lip and palate. This physical struggle only compounded the emotional burdens she endured growing up, when she was subjected to relentless teasing and bullying during her childhood, as her appearance and speech differed from her peers. She continued to struggle with her deeply entrenched beliefs of being worthless and unlovable, turning to alcohol during her middle school years to numb her pain. Unfortunately, although it temporarily numbed her pain, it accelerated a downward spiral, resulting in a decade-long struggle with alcoholism that resulted in the loss of employment, devastated relationships, and a battle with chronic illness that nearly cost Marcy her life. Until the day she saw the light and changed her life forever. Marcy shares her remarkable story of personal transformation including how dealing with the shame who shaped who she had become, how she changed the wiring of her nervous system simply by changing her thoughts, and how to eliminate predatory thoughts from her inner dialogue, and so much more!
