Chris, Lily, Paul & Jordan dissect the season 5 finale "All Due Respect", an episode that ties up loose ends, sets the stage for season six, and provides numerous powerful and entertaining moments, even if it is in the tough position of following "Long Term Parking". In a season about Tony as a leader, the situation with New York reaches it's apex, and Tony has to take the reigns and make a brutal and permanent decision. Some interesting scenes of Tony's underlings reacting to his leadership, and the return of "The Bear"... sort of. All this and so much more, right after we park our car at Johnny Saks house... This week, Chris, Lily, Paul, & Jordan cover the monumental "Long Term Parking", which is dubbed by many fans as the best episode in the whole series. Impactful and devastating, this penultimate episode of season five won both Michael Imperioli and Drea De Matteo their Emmys. The Tony B situation boils over into "do or die" territory, Tony and Carmela negotiate the terms of a reconciliation, and the three seasons of storytelling with Christopher and Adriana culminates to its brutal and shocking, but inevitable conclusion. One family is made, while another family is unmade. All this, plus some "Born to Run" discussion, suitcase talk, eggs, and the FBI, right after we replace Paul's colon with a semi-colon... Tony and Adriana Come Home On the penultimate episode of season five of Pod Yourself A Gun, Matt and Vince are joined by writer and podcaster Chris Cabin from the We Hate Movies Podcast to talk about The Sopranos season five episode twelve, “Long Term Parking.” Chris is our first “affiliated” guest, if you know what I mean. A photo of his father getting arrested ran in the New York Times because Chris comes from a self-described criminal family who ran a book for the Jewish mafia in Pittsburgh. So I'm not saying something bad will happen if you don't listen to this episode, I'm just saying you have some beautiful ear drums and you should use them while you still have them. God forbid something bad happens to them, but if you listen to the pod, nothing bad will happen to them. In what is possibly the show's most gut-wrenching episode, we say goodbye to an animal-printed real one. If you haven't seen the episode yet, first of all what are you doing reading this? Second, stop reading now if you don't want it spoiled. RIP to our poor girl Adriana. She was so loyal to her man who was so loyal to his capo that she got ulcerative colitis and nearly had a Jerry Lewis moon face for her own wedding. She deserved better. Though her final moments occurred off screen, so you could choose to be one of those freaks who thinks that if a character's death is not explicitly shown, the character is not dead. You're wrong and you're dumb, but you're sweet. At one point in the conversation, someone calls Adam Levine the Disney+ Dave Navarro, and that itself is worth a five-star review on Apple Podcasts. It's another fantastic episode with two amazing guests. First up, the legendary Peter Bogdanovich talks about how he started out as an actor in NYC and what gave him the bug to start directing. He shares stories about his friendship with Orson Wells, how he cast Tatum O'Neil in the Last Picture Show and of course how he ended up on the Sopranos. Peter became friends with David Chase who asked him to play the role of Melfi's psychiatrist. He also directed Michael and Steve in Sentimental Education S5-Ep6 of the Sopranos. Next Marianne Leone joins the podcast. Michael worked with Marianne on Goodfellas and the two remained friends ever since. She is a lot of fun and shares some great stories about her days on the Sopranos and how Federico Castelluccio restored a painting of her grandparents. Then Michael and Steve get into one of the most surprising and dramatic episodes of the entire series. Michael and Drea both won Emmys for their performances as well as Terry Winter for the screenplay. Tim Van Patten was nominated for directing. This is a great one…Talking Sopranos S5-E12 “Long Term Parking”. Director Paul Bright (@PaulBrightFilms on twitter) sits down with host Craig Price to discuss digital filmmaking. Comicpalooza premiered Paul's latest film "Long Term Parking" on May 23rd. Little did he suspect that his trip to Houston would force him to cross paths with Craig! The two discuss creating films for the small, small screen (phones and tablets), how you think about shooting films with unlimited recording capabilities, auditioning actors a foot away from a cell phone camera and some of the pros and cons of the available distribution outlets for independent filmmakers. They also discuss how the new, smaller high definition cameras allow for more shot flexibility and how actors act knowing that they can do unlimited takes (in theory) without having to start the scene all over. Also, Craig blatantly tries to get cast in Paul's next film. Pathetic, really. It's a great discussion for anyone interested in making their own independent films. You can find Paul and his movies at http://PaulBrightFilms.com and check out his vlog Paul's Tub Talk on Youtube.
