Kelâmî Dergâhı şeyhi ve 32. Nakşî Postnişini olan Muhammed Es'ad Efendi (k.s.), 1848 (Hicri 1264) yılında bugün Irak sınırları içinde kalan Musul'un Erbil kasabasında doğdu. Muhammed Es'ad Erbili (k.s.), Nakşibendi tarikatının Hâlidiyye Dergâhı Postnişîni olan babası Muhammed Saîd Efendi'nin terbiyesinde ehl-i tarik bir ailede yetişti. Erbil ve Deyr'deki zamanın alimlerinden ilim öğrendi ve 1870 yılında yirmi üç yaşında zahiri ilimlerden icazet (diploma) aldı. Taha el-Hariri'ye intisap etti. Beş yılda seyri sulukünu tamamlayarak, hilafet aldı ve Hacca gitti. Hacc dönüşü Şeyhi vefat edince, İstanbul'a geldi. Fatih Camii'nde Hafız Divanı ile Molla Cami'nin Lüccetü'l-Esrar kitabını okuttu. Ünü kısa zamanda etrafa yayıldı. II. Abdülhamid Han'ın damadı Halid Paşa kendisini saraya davet ederek sohbetlerinden istifade etti. Bu arada Meclis-i Meşayih üyeliğine ve akabinde Kelamî Dergâhı Şeyhliği'ne tayin edildi. Kenz-ül İrfan adlı hadis kitabını neşretti ve büyük ilgi gördü. Abdulhamid Han tarafından vazifeli olarak Erbil'e gönderildi. Şeyh Muhammed Es'ad Erbili (k.s.)'un en önemli özelliklerinden biri “Tarikatı, Şeriatın yaşanabilmesi için bir araç olduğunu ısrarla vurgulamış ve uygulamış olmasıdır”. Bu konuda “Tarikatın esası Şeriattır” demiştir. İkinci özelliği ise Peygamber Efendimiz (s.a.v)'e olan büyük aşkı ve sünnet-i seniyyeyi yaşama konusunda gösterdiği titizlik ve gayretidir. Tekkelerin kapatılmasından sonra hiç sokağa çıkmamaya karar vererek, Erenköy Kazasker'de satın aldığı köşkünde inzivaya çekildi. Ancak evi sürekli polis gözetiminde tutuldu. 23 Aralık 1930'da Menemen vakasıyla ilgili tutuklanarak Menemen'e sevk edildi. İdam talebiyle yargılandı. İlerlemiş yaşı sebebiyle cezası müebbede çevrildi. Oğlu Ali Efendi idam edildi. Menemen'de askeri hastanede tedavisi yapıldığı sırada 3 Mart'ı 4 Mart'a bağlayan gece zehirlenerek Şehid edilmiştir. Cenazesi ailesine verilmeyerek Menemen'de defnedildi. Es'ad Efendi (k.s.)'nun yetiştirdiği en önemli talebesi ve yolunu devam ettiren zât, Hz. Mahmud Sami Ramazanoğlu (k.s.)'dur. Offaly. His poetry has been published in The Poetry Review, Poetry London, Poetry Ireland Review, The Stinging Fly, bath magg, New England Review, The London Magazine, The North, The Moth, Magma, The Rialto, The Irish Times and RTÉ. He has been awarded first prize in The Patrick Kavanagh Award for Poetry (2024), Southword Editor's Poetry Award (2023), The Rialto Nature Competition; Place Poetry Prize (2021). In 2021, he was highly commended in The Moth Poetry Prize. In 2024, his poetry chapbook Saturn Devouring was published by The Lifeboat Press. He is currently a Government of Ireland IRC Scholar and PhD candidate. He teaches at the Mary Lavin Centre/School of English in University College Dublin and also works for Granta magazine. He lives in Dublin.Jane Robinson's collections, Journey to the Sleeping Whale (Salmon, 2018) and Island and Atoll (Salmon, 2023), as well as other poems and essays, reflect her deep ecological awareness. With a doctorate in Biology from Caltech, Jane is also a recipient of the Shine-Strong and Strokestown Poetry awards. She lives in Dublin.Annemarie Ní Churreáin is a poet from northwest Donegal. Her books include Bloodroot (Doire Press, 2017), The Poison Glen (The Gallery Press, 2021) and Ghostgirl (Donegal County Archives, 2023). Her work has been shortlisted for the Shine Strong Award for Best Debut Collection (IRE) and for the Ledbury Hellens Best Second Collection (UK). She is a recipient of the Arts Council's Next Generation Artist Award, The Markievicz Award, and a forthcoming 2025 Hawthornden Foundation Residency (NYC). Ní Churreáin is a former fellow of Akademie Schloss Solitude Fellowship (GR). Her writing for stage has appeared at the Abbey National Theatre of Ireland. Hafez lived in Shiraz under the waning Mongol Ilkhanate and at his death in 1390, the region was being incorporated into Timur's empire. What more do we know about Hafez's socio-political and cultural context? There are many mythical tales about Hafez. What can we know about his life? The influence of Hafez can't be underestimated.
