The Comics and Chronic podcast is an absolutely insane and hilarious show that never fails to deliver laughs. Every episode is better than the last, with great commentary and awesome special guests like Tommy Chong. The hosts of this podcast have a fantastic dynamic and their banter will leave you rolling with laughter. Plus, if you're not satisfied, they even offer a money-back guarantee. With its unique blend of comedy, weed, and comics, this podcast is a must-listen for fans of all three.
One of the best aspects of The Comics and Chronic podcast is the great chemistry between the hosts. Cody, Jake, and Anthony play off each other seamlessly and their comedic timing is spot-on. The conversations on this show are so good that you'll wish you were in the room to add your own input. The hosts also do a great job of bringing in interesting and relevant guest features, such as Tommy Chong. These special guests add another layer of entertainment to an already hilarious show.
However, one potential downside to this podcast is that it may not appeal to everyone. If you're not a fan of comedy or weed culture, then this may not be the right podcast for you. Additionally, some listeners may find the jokes and humor style to be a bit crude or over-the-top at times. While it's all part of the charm for many fans, it may turn off others who prefer more subtle or sophisticated humor.
In conclusion, The Comics and Chronic podcast fills a niche that many listeners didn't even know they needed filled until they tuned in. It offers a condensed audio book club experience for comic book fans who don't have enough time to read themselves. Even if you're not familiar with the series being discussed in an episode, you can still enjoy the witty commentary and good laughs provided by Cody, Jake, and Anthony. And let's not forget about Cody Cannon's voice - it scratches an itch in your brain that you didn't even realize was there. Overall, this podcast is a great choice for fans of comedy, weed, and comics looking for a hilarious and entertaining listen.

But first, disaster strikes Cody! You'll have to tune in to hear how. We take a little trip to segue city this episode. Is using chairs to promote the Avengers cheap as fuck? Who will the roster for the Defenders be in the next season? Michael Gandolfini kills it and successfully emulates his father's acting. Was the CGI good? Would a Robert Rodriguez Daredevil film crush? Should Ben Stiller play a 90's Daredevil? Will the Avengers just put anyone on their team? Did this show suffer from a Marvel trope of the hero not wearing their costume enough? This week on Comics and Chronic we discuss the Disney+ series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" is an animated series that follows Peter Parker on his way to becoming a hero, with a journey unlike we have ever seen and a style that celebrates the character's early comic book roots.”The show is an alternate universe in which spider-Man origins villains and friends vary, but at its core still maintain the integrity of the classic Spider-Man lore. Jake feels about Ang Lee's Hulk the way Anthony feels about Ben Affleck's Daredevil. This show does a great job of world building and developing characters from the Spider-Man universe who aren't necessarily usually that big of a deal. This show blows What If? out of the water! Is X-Men 97 better than Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man? Hot Aunt May makes another appearance in animated form. The animation is a perfect blend between modern & the classic 1960's comic look. Will Spider-Man make a cameo in Daredevil Born Again? Hopefully we get a build up to the Sinister Six. Are Marvel's smaller projects cooler than their larger ones? Do we want to see Apocalypse return for a live action X-Men movie but with him actually being cool? Is Avengers Doomsday going to reset the MCU? What's up with Cody's eyes? On the newest episode of BatMarch the boys discuss Batman Forever directed by Joel Schumacher starring Val Kilmer, Jim Carrey, Tommy Lee Jones, Nicole Kidman, & Chris O'Donnell. But first special guest Ahmed Raafat joins us to discuss the movie. Ahmed is an immensely talented comic book artist whose new series Who Are The Power Pals? just released from Dark Horse Comics. He also did a variant cover for Anthony's comic Superguy #1, and even recently worked on the comic Quick Stops with Kevin Smith. Batman Forever is a blend between the old Adam West Batman & Tim Burton's Batman. It's Bat Shit crazy. Despite being blasted by critics, the movie did very well at the box office. Jake has a technical problem during recording and ends up being lost to the void. Tommy Lee Jones apparently hated Jim Carrey during filming. Did Tommy Lee try to make his Two-Face too much like Jim Carrey's Riddler? Did we all get the McDonald's Batman Forever glasses? This is the only movie to show us a live action origin of Robin. Letting people borrow comic books is something Jake & Anthony can agree on: DON'T DO IT! Cody admits he ruined one of Jake's comics while Jake admits to holding one of Cody's hostage. Cody gives reason why you shouldn't let him borrow anything. Is 3 shots of liquor equal to one shovel? BatMarch continues as we cover the 1988 DC comic Batman: The Cult by Jim Starlin & art by Bernie Wrightson. The story follows “Batman's struggle against a messianic cult leader, Deacon Blackfire, who aims to control Gotham City. Blackfire recruits followers from the city's homeless, criminals, and dispossessed, and operates his cult from the sewers. Batman is captured, brainwashed, and even participates in a killing before Robin rescues him.”But first Anthony completes his metamorphosis into going full Weezer with new glasses. Cody's vision, among other things, is questionable. Jake's vision remains superior. The boys talk the latest DC film news. Cody's ranking has infected the podcast. Anthony has Jack Quaid energy. LOTR over Harry Potter every day. This comic has one of the best Batman villains: Deacon Blackfire. Cody's not keen on Jim Starlin's Batman/Bruce Wayne. There are actual stakes in this story with Batman being captured, drugged, and tortured. Cody's son is Jason Todd. We love to see Batman trip balls. This story may or may not be anti-transients. The Dark Knight Rises borrows tremendously from The Cult. This is one of the darkest Batman comics with pimps, hookers, and even Batman just letting a woman get killed in the streets. The art perfectly depicts Batman & Gotham with horror elements and imagery that reflects Batman's mental state throughout the story. Deacon Blackfire does things that some of Batman's main rogue gallery has never accomplished. Do we reveal what we'll do for BatMarch 2026? Is this the only use of Deacon Blackfire in Batman comics? It's been too long since we brought up Stephen Lang but he comes back for some stellar casting this episode. We're kicking off the annual 3rd season of BatMarch with our 275th episode and a classic Batman comic: A Death In The Family. .. and YOU get to decide the fate of the podcast! This 1988 Batman story featuring the death of Robin Jason Todd is one of the most iconic DC Batman stories written by Jim Starlin, art by Jim Aparo, & edited by Dennis O'Neil. But first Cody once again lies & gaslights us into believing he's capable of being on time. Cody also falls in love with the MCU after years of disappointment. Is this story a hot bed of mediocrity? Jason Todd is low key a bitch & deserved to die. His mom might be the worst human alive. Anthony points out similarities between this book & HBO's The Penguin. Is this book racist & dated as fuck? Is Chris Jericho a piece of shit? Which one of Cody's friends got a DUI recently? Cody & Jake fuck with Shane Gillis. This comic features Jake & Anthony's favorite Batman color scheme. Is Superman a boot licker in this book? Are the choices for this story a little off? Does it feel like a Batman story? The fans voted for Jason Todd to get killed off. Is RFK Jason Todd? Would Trump give The Joker a position in his cabinet? Is Covid rotting Jake's brain or turning him into The Leader? Tune in this month for more BatMarch as we cover The Cult, Batman Forever, Batman Earth One, The Dark Knight Rises, & Batman White Knight. This week on Comics and Chronic, we finish out our coverage of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy with The Return Of The King directed by Peter Jackson. The boys recorded this episode one day before Trump takes his office. The boys gain another moniker. Is Return Of The King better on a rewatch? Is it the least favorite of all three movies? What are the differences between the ending of the movie and the end of the books? There are moments in this movie where the CGI doesn't hold up. Anthony doesn't put respect on Viggo Mortensen's name. Luigi Mangione is our Aragorn. Frodo loses our respect when he makes Samwise cry. Jake & Cody are Sméagol and Deagol. Is this movie really Pippin's movie? Is he responsible for Gandalf becoming OP? Almost every character including villains be getting high! Is there an orc in the movie that's supposed to look like Harvey Weinstein? Anthony gives us his connection to Regis Philbin. Is Back To The Future considered one of the best trilogies? What are the best comedy trilogies? The hype for Daredevil Reborn is strong. Cody hates the MCU so much he goes back & rewatches films to give them a lower score? Go listen now! This week on Comics and Chronic the boys make history by covering their first ever manga, the classic Japanese horror manga Uzumaki by Junji Ito. It's Manga and Marijuana! “Kurouzu-cho, a small fogbound town on the coast of Japan, is cursed. According to Shuichi Saito, the withdrawn boyfriend of teenager Kirie Goshima, their town is haunted not by a person or being but a pattern: UZUMAKI, the spiral—the hypnotic secret shape of the world” But first The Costco Guys rise through the hierarchy of pop culture along with The Rizzler by making their AEW debut. Cody gives us his home makeover plans. This is the first manga Jake has ever read. Each story in Uzumaki is more insane than the last. The story is literally a spiral into madness. The book has an anthology feel that ultimately ties together in the end. Cody reveals how he came to own Uzumaki. Is this one of the best horror comics ever made? The boys decide they need to cover more of Something Is Killing The Children. This book is so unsettling that at some points Jake had to put it down. Cody gives his take on the animated Uzumaki on Adult Swim. Has Cody infected Jake with his snail like slowness? What sick scientific experiments was Anthony up to in 1st grade? Cody used to pretend to be an apex predator and eat bugs. Uzumaki is an uncomfortable yet engaging read with equal parts body horror, existential dread, and losing one's mind sprinkled throughout. He is the creator & writer for such comics as Kali, Raiders, & Birdking published by Dark Horse Comics as well as Undying Love published by Image Comics. Go check Daniel Freedman's books out now! https://www.danielfreedman.tv/ But first, Daniel confuses Jake for Cody (A surprisingly common occurrence). He also gives insight to his experiences with Comic Cons and lets us know which ones are his favorite. Is Artist Alley at Comic-Con being pushed more and more to the back as time goes on? Daniel is also a screenwriter but has been focusing more on books over the last couple of years. Will his book Undying Love finally be made into a movie? Daniel lets us know why he prefers writing comics to screenplays. Daniel explains how Birdking came about. Daniel Freedman is a big Lord Of The Rings fan & some of its influence can be felt in Birdking. How did Dune influence Daniel Freedman? Daniel & artist CROM have done an incredible job world building Birdking. Daniel gives his advice to Anthony as a fellow writer & comic creator. This week on Comics and Chronic Jake & Cody are in for another Half Baked episode & they're discussing the Robert Eggers film Nosferatu starring Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Emma Corrin, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, & Ralph Ineson. “ A gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and the terrifying vampire infatuated with her, causing untold horror in its wake.” But first, Cody shows off his Christmas gifts. Is this movie over hyped? When compared to Bram Stroker's Dracula the answer absolutely! This movie is NOT the best movie of the year. Werewolves are sexy AF. Is Robert Eggers hit or miss? The Witch & The Lighthouse are way scarier. Jake fell asleep during the movie. The movie is beautifully shot, has great acting, is sexy, and amazing cinematography but still doesn't BUSS. NEPO babies make a return this episode. Does Nosferatu cuck Nicholas Hoult? Does the movie have enough vampire lore? Cody mispronounces Guillermo del Toro's name for the millionth time. Psylocke, Archangel, Deadpool and Fantomex sign up for Wolverine's secret squad of assassins, but their first mission - to find and deal with the reborn Apocalypse - casts a long shadow. On the newest episode of Comics and Chronic the guys are joined by guest Hunter Saling. Hunter Saling is an actor and comedian, most notably one-third of sketch group Business Casual. You can see him next in the trio's new show, “COWBOYS” with dates in January throughout California. Hunter has been reading comics for as long as he can remember and plans to continue reading them until he can't remember anything. Tonight they discuss Umbrella Academy (the comic). The Umbrella Academy is an American comic book series created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá. It follows a dysfunctional family of adopted superherosiblings with bizarre powers attempting both to save the world and find their place within it. Published intermittently by Dark Horse Comics, the comic is released in six to seven issue limited series, typically lasting six issues. Since 2007, three volumes have been published, as have two spin-offs. The fourth volume of the main series is currently in development. Do the guys like this more than the TV series? What comics did Hunter get into when he was young? Was this comic inspired by 9/11? Did Jake not know this comic's writer was also the singer of My Chemical Romance? The film follows adventurer and treasure hunter Rick O'Connell as he travels to Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead, with librarian Evelyn Carnahan and her older brother Jonathan, where they accidentally awaken Imhotep, a cursed high priest with supernatural powers. The guys also discuss how Anthony will save us from AI. They talk about how hot the cast is and all of the cast's illustrious careers. Was Imhotep antisemitic? What were the conditions like on set? Would we survive this movie? Does this feel like an early MCU movie? Who would we cast as 90's MCU? Find out on the newest episode of Comics and Chronic! This week on Comics and Chronic we discuss Velvet by Ed Brubaker & art by Steve Epting published by Image Comics. “From the best-selling creators of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER comes VELVET, a slick and sexy new take on the cold war spy genre. What if the secretary to the man running the world's most top secret spy agency was actually their most dangerous weapon, once upon a time?”But first the boys discuss underwater aliens, James Cameron's role in 9/11, and Immaculate Constellation. Mike Tyson & Jake Paul were used a distraction from the under water aliens/congress hearing. Operation Sleepy Baby is uncovered. This book has hard James Bond vibes with a strong female lead. A lot of real life references to historical espionage history. Becky 2: The Beckoning is coming to theaters near you! Once you start reading this book you won't be able to put it down. We come up with a new sound effect for the sound board specifically made for Cody's thinking. This is Brubaker at his best. Everyone agrees this is one of the best comics we've read. Why does Ed Brubaker end a lot of his stories with someone by the beach? Will we delve deep into the origins of the Blue Waffle STD? This week we discuss The Private Eye by Brian K. Vaughan, art by Marcos Martin, & colored by Munsta Vicente. “Years after the digital cloud "bursts" and exposes all of our worst secrets, THE PRIVATE EYE is set in an inevitable future where everyone has a secret identity. Following an unlicensed P.I. who is thrust into the most important case of his life, this sci-fi mystery explores the nature of privacy with frightening prescience.” But first the boys talk US Politics, election, and who we voted for. The darkest secret of all is your identity. This book is a 10 issue comic that originally was digital only but is now printed by Image Comics. Anthony lists his favorite Batgirls. In this future there is no internet, libraries are valued, and the overall world building in this comic is incredible. Can we prevent Betty Yayo 2069 from coming online? Cody believes they'll let us smoke weed in concentration camps. The book has 1984 vibes . Brian K. Vaughan doesn't have the best luck when his comics become TV shows. The mystery of Jake being sick begins in this episode. Tune in this week for more shenanigans! In our second Half Baked episode pf the week, Anthony & Cody discuss The Night Eaters: She Eats the Night by writer Marjorie Liu and illustrator Sana Takeda. “Chinese American twins Milly and Billy are having a tough time. On top of the multiple failures in their personal and professional lives, they're struggling to keep their restaurant afloat. Their parents, Ipo and Keon force them to clean up the house next door—a ruin that was the scene of a grisly murder—the twins are in for a nasty surprise. A night of terror, gore, and supernatural mayhem reveals that there is much more to Ipo and her children than meets the eye.” But first, are Cody & Anthony the true backbone of the podcast? Is this comic relatable? Does this have A24 vibes? Is family trauma the backbone of this comic book & A24? Is this book as funny as it is terrifying? How does Bruce Lee factor into this book? At its core, this is a book about generational trauma and a wholesome family tale that deals with immigration. Would Anthony send his baby daughter into a house of demons to get her to grow up? Was a large man shrieking like a girl on a dirt road the closest thing to a cryptid Cody has ever seen? Is Appalachia one of the oldest palaces on earth? And what the fuck does that even mean? Out past the poisoned wasteland lives a man even the Nightcrawlers and Organ People fear. Some name him Joe Glow, others call him the Meltdown Man. But his name...is Geiger." But first Jake reveals a new action figure. Plus, is Geoff Johns one of Anthony's most influential comic writers? Does this book have a lot of the usual post-apocalyptic/nuclear wasteland elements?
