This week Brian and Harrison intro the show by covering all the major topics in their lives and within the AFL, including: BTs next big project (Dyl Buckleys' shed), the AFLs small forward boom, the surprise sacking of MFCs CEO, more LIV Golf death chat, an English Premier League championship / relegation discussion, and plenty more. Their guest this week is TV presenter Rebecca Maddern, and fair warning, this one doesn't miss a beat. From the chaos and chemistry behind AFL broadcasts to what really goes into pulling off live TV, Bec lifts the lid on life in the media world. Equal parts fun, frenetic, and high-pressure. She also opens up about her time on The Footy Show, including navigating the infamous “boys' club” and some unforgettable moments alongside Sam Newman. Beyond the cameras, Bec shares a deeply personal side, speaking about her journey to conceiving, the challenges of IVF, and balancing it all while working in a fast-paced, male-dominated industry. There's plenty of laughs, a few raw moments, and a real look at what it takes to thrive both on and off screen, from the front line of news to the behind-the-scenes reality One of the most fun and energetic chats we've had. Bec brings the energy, calls it as she sees it, and keeps BT honest at every turn. There something in this one for everyone. Jaega Wise meets chef and broadcaster Matt Tebbutt at home in South Wales, to discuss his "Life Through Food". Matt has been presenting Saturday Kitchen Life on BBC One for almost a decade, but before he was a TV Presenter he worked as a chef - first in professional kitchens in London (he was in fact sacked by Marco Pierre White) and later ran his own gastropub in south Wales. It was his cooking there at The Foxhunter - which he ran with his wife Lisa - that first got him noticed by the media, and an appearance on the second ever series of the Great British Menu. To discover what life is like on set for Matt, Jaega also pays a visit to the studios of Saturday Kitchen Live as they are rehearsing, to see how the live cooking show is put together week after week. She meets the team in the backstage "engine room" - the test kitchen - and discovers what they mean when they talk about "heroes", and finds out what happens at 11.30am after the cameras get turned off. Plus she chats to wine expert Olly Smith about Matt's career and the friendship they've developed while working in food tv. Produced for BBC Audio in Bristol by Natalie Donovan
Tensions between Italy and Russia are riding high. Italy has summoned the Russian ambassador in Rome after Vladimir Solovyov, a Russian television presenter, insulted Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on air. According to Italian media, Solovyov said Meloni was, among other things, “a disgrace to the human race” and a “certified idiot”. He went on to call her “fascist scum who betrayed her electors.” Italy Correspondent Jo McKenna told Mike Hosking it's uncertain whether this was sparked by Meloni's shaky relationship with US President Donald Trump, her support for Ukraine, or if it was personal for Solovyov, who apparently has a few luxury villas on Lake Como that are now subject to EU sanctions. Did Abnormal Refraction Doom The Titanic? In this powerful and thought-provoking episode of Review It Yourself, Sean sits down with renowned historian, author and TV presenter Tim Maltin to explore one of the most compelling alternative explanations behind the sinking of RMS Titanic — the Abnormal Refraction Theory.Drawing from his ground-breaking research in Titanic: A Very Deceiving Night, Tim explains how rare atmospheric conditions on 14 April 1912 may have distorted visibility in the North Atlantic. Could a natural optical illusion have delayed iceberg warnings, confused distress signals, and changed history forever? If you're searching for Titanic history, Titanic iceberg theories, or scientific explanations behind the Titanic disaster — this episode delivers evidence, clarity, and serious debate.A Deceptive Night in the North AtlanticMost Titanic discussions focus on speed, lifeboat numbers, or Captain Smith's decisions. Apart from being a World Champion, Olympic Gold Medallist, TV Presenter, Sports Commentator, Author, Corporate Speaker, Fashion Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, Macadamia Farmer, Mum of Two and Wife of one, Giaan Rooney hasn’t really done much. Hi Team, I'm tied up with PhD commitments today, so we're revisiting one of my favourite episodes with Farmer Dave (David Graham). See you tomorrow with a new ep. *I wasn't sure what to expect going in to this chat because unlike a lot of people, I knew virtually zero about farmer Dave (my bad) but what ensued, was an hour of captivating conversation with a bloke who's had (and continues to have) a fascinating life. After years navigating all kinds of darkness and eventually finding his way into the light of happiness, purpose, love and connection, he's now helping others do the same. A movie could literally be made about Dave's journey. Here are a few snippets. He was in charge of feeding, cleaning and caring for twenty farm dogs when he was 3. He is the youngest of 11. Was an international model at 19. Grew up on 100,000 acre farm. ‘Came out' on national television (Big Brother). Has travelled to more than 80 countries. Was crippled with depression and anxiety as a teenager. Is a father of five. Currently lives on his farm in the country with twenty-something dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits, dwarf goats, alpacas, ducks, goose and a horse. Created RuffTRACK: a farm-based youth charity that protects kids, keeping them out of prison and up skilling them for a secure future (the story he shares around this is amazing), is an animal behaviourist, TV Presenter, speaker and good bloke doing good things. Enjoy. rufftrack.com@rufftrackSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Jeannette is joined by TV presenter and adventurer, Alice Morrison, who shares her remarkable journey from a conventional career as a chief executive to embarking on thrilling adventures, including cycling across Africa and exploring the hidden histories of the Nabataean civilisation in her new TV series, "Arabian Adventures." Jeannette and Alice explore the catalysts for change in Alice's life, her experiences with self-discovery, and the importance of living authentically KEY TAKEAWAYS Life can take unexpected turns, and it's essential to adapt and find new paths. The journey from a conventional career to adventurous pursuits can lead to personal growth and fulfilment. Engaging in physically challenging activities can help reset your mindset, allowing you to focus on the present moment rather than getting lost in worries about the future. It's crucial to understand that your identity is not defined by societal expectations or roles. Embracing your true self and making choices that align with your values is more important than seeking external validation. Negative feedback is a part of life, but it's essential to not let it deter you. Understanding that others' opinions are often reflections of their own experiences can help you maintain your confidence and focus on your goals. BEST MOMENTS "I think really the physical side of it, in a way, is a servant to the exploration side of it." My new series for the BBC, Arabian Adventures: Secrets of the Nabateans airs is on BBC News. Here it is on iPlayer. I travel to the furthest places on earth and walk through its toughest habitats. I have been described as ‘Indiana Jones for girls' (which I liked!) We live in a time when the world is in crisis in so many ways. I want to bear witness to what is happening to the planet as our climate and our society changes and I want to tell the stories that bring we humans together rather than the ones that drive us apart. For this episode, David provides you with some excerpts of an interview he has done with the British broadcast journalist and TV presenter Rob Bell. Rob is best known for his programmes about engineering, industrial history and pursuing outdoor adventure. Recently, Rob has started exploring how society and organisations can encourage male friendships and positive male communities. That is what they discuss today. To explore how to get unstuck on your mission, put your purpose into practice and convert your ideas into impact book a discovery call with David here https://calendly.com/david-peoplewithpurpose/30min KEY TAKEAWAYS A lot of business leaders present themselves as unrelenting decision-makers who are always driving forward, as being alphas. Most of the world´s biggest business leaders are not naturally extroverted or charismatic. Great leaders don´t have to posture, they use their words and actions to motivate and lead. Being authentic and vulnerable resonates with others. If you never say sorry, admit someone else´s idea is better than yours or show empathy, you end up isolating others. Maintaining a persona burns a lot of energy, you really do need to be yourself. BEST MOMENTS “I´m not alpha at all.” “People know that they (authentic leaders) mean it because of the way they behave.” “You have to be you to be the best you can.” “How genuine they are gives me goosebumps…it´s important to encourage people to be real.” “Friendship is not needing to worry about who you are and how you come across.” “Radical candour is where you care personally and challenge directly… you are more likely to find that in friendship groups.” EPISODE RESOURCES Do you want free coaching with David?
