(00:00-02:43) – Greg Rakestraw is back with the final regular season edition of Soccer Saturday where the Indy Eleven need a win or draw in order to make it into the postseason, which would be a very surprising end to what was a very promising start of the season. (05:47-16:55) – Head Coach Martin Rennie is back in his usual segment of the show and he said that he is feeling good on short rest going on the road today to take on St. Louis FC because it's like a playoff game for both teams, what his expectations are for St. Louis FC tonight considering it is their last match in franchise history, and what some of the key points are tonight to either draw or win the match to make it to the playoffs. (19:56-28:12) – The only Indy Eleven player to find the back of the net on Wednesday in Andrew Carleton shares his thoughts about the fourty-five minutes he gave the team, walks you through what he saw on the field in the moments leading up to his first goal scored, and what Martin Rennie told him at the end of the first half. (31:14-50:12) – SiriusXM's Brian Dunseth returns to the program to discuss how busy he has been broadcasting games between the various leagues that are all in action right now, how people should be feeling about the United States National League in comparison to previous years, and his respect for Landon Donovan following his team's (San Diego Loyal) second forfeiture of a match earlier this week after Collin Martin received a homophobic slur by an unpunished LA Galaxy II's Omar Ontiveros. (53:13-56:59) – Greg concludes this week's edition of Soccer Saturday by congratulating Jerry Little for his 600th career victory, reviews the Champions League pairings, and briefly touches some of the latest news in the EPL.

(05:07-17:23) – Head Coach Martin Rennie is back in his weekly time slot to go over how crazy of a match it was on Wednesday against St. Louis FC despite it being a 1-1 draw, breaks down the only goal his team scored from Neveal Hackshaw, and what kind of Sporting Kansas City II team he could potentially see on Wednesday night with it being their last game of the season. (20:24-35:57) – SiriusXM's Jason Davis follows Rennie to get his thoughts on whether or not Major League Soccer was able to expand their reach since there were more televised matches, why the MLS has not come out with a full schedule like other soccer leagues have, and why people are becoming more excited about the United States Men's National Team. (38:58-52:06) – Marian's women soccer coach and former goal keeper coach for the Indy Eleven in Gary Yohe returns to this program to explain how many matches they will be playing between the fall and spring, how COVID-19 has impacted the NAIA tournament, and what it's like to have such a talented two sport student-athlete in Erin Oleksak. (55:07-56:10) – Greg Rakestraw wraps up this edition of Soccer Saturday by thanking all of his guests for joining him today and tells you which English Premier League matches he will have his eyes on this weekend.

(06:56-15:30) – Martin Rennie is back in his weekly time slot to share what his mindset is like following the loss to Louisville City, how the first day back on the training pitch was yesterday following the loss, still thinks that their best play of soccer is yet to come, and shares his expectations for a very important match on Wednesday against St. Louis FC. (18:31-32:33) – Lead announcer of the USL in Mike Watts makes another appearance on the show to describe how Louisville City has been able to turn up the heat earlier this season in comparison to previous seasons, compares the upcoming Indy Eleven match-up by elaborating on how they stack up against St. Louis FC, and which team he thinks is the best team in the Western Conference. (35:35-46:17) – The first president and general manager of the Indy Eleven in Peter Wilt stops by to inform you about the current project he is trying to work on in his hometown of Chicago and whether or not he has an idea where the new team will play, and how he is dividing his soccer watching time nowadays. (49:18-56:53) – Greg wraps up the show in quick fashion to let you know where you can go to watch some EPL matches, looks over some of the EPL matches that come your way today, and the biggest news this week in the EPL and USL.

IG: jbushue17Professional Soccer Player Jacob Bushue is the captain for FC Haka. He won a national championship with Indiana. Played for St. Louis FC. Then went to Finland starting in the second division working his way all the way up to the league.
Jacob Bushue is a 27-year-old American soccer player currently playing for FC Haka in the Finnish Premier League. Jacob played his college soccer at the Indiana University for the Hoosiers. In 2015, Jacob signed for St. Louis FC in the USL. After playing there for one year, he decided that it was time to chase his dream in Europe. Jacob bought a one way flight to Scandanavia where he went on trial for two teams. Jacob thought the best set up for him was in Finland in the third tier for BK-46. After captaining the team and almost promoting to the second tier, he impressed many people. He then went on to sign for Ekenäs IF in the second tier of Finland. After another impressive season, FC Haka signed him, and he captained them as well. Through his lead, hard work ethic and clear commitment, he helped take FC Haka to the first tier of Finnish Football. As you will hear in the podcast, Jacob is a very disciplined and dedicated individual who will and has done whatever it takes to get to the next level. The three tips that he gave for anyone trying to make it to the next level in sport is: always look to do more than the people around you, find things that people aren't willing to do and do them, and be a coaches' player, a player who the coach wants to play! If you want to reach out to Jacob, you can hit him at Instagram @jbushue17. Enjoy the podcast!

Hello soccer fans! Welcome back to The Sons of a Pitch: An American Soccer Podcast. And our show starts with American soccer at it's highest levels. The USYNT was knocked out of the U-20 World Cup in Poland after a tough game vs. South American champion Ecuador. While they didn't advance further, Tab Ramos' team once again proved the United States is developing talent on an international level. The USMNT also had a disappointing week, with losses to Jamaica and Venezuela in international friendlies. These Gold Cup tune-up games are certainly disappointments, but Berhalter wasn't playing his "A" team, and his tactics needs time to implement. That being said, Nick and Mike have picked against the US in the tournament, choosing Costa Rica and Mexico, respectively. The bright spot for US Soccer has always been the USWNT, and they did not disappoint in their Women's World Cup opener vs. Thailand. A thorough 13-0 drubbing of the Asian squad set a record for largest margin of victory and most goals in a WWC game. Alex Morgan also tied the WWC single game scoring record by netting 5 goals in a superb performance. This team has reminded the world that they are the favorites. Meanwhile at home, the US Open Cup saw Major League Soccer teams enter the tournament. The Chicago Fire embarrassed themselves against St. Louis FC, losing the game 2-1 and losing their cool. Other MLS sides fared much better with Columbus, New England, LAFC, and Houston advancing. Chattanooga and Atlanta were postponed due to bad field conditions, and San Jose vs. Sacramento is ongoing as of time of posting. Finally in MLS action, we saw the Union assert their dominance over the Eastern Conference with a thrilling come-back win over RBNY. The other games went as expected and all the results are up at www.mlssoccer.com. Thanks for listening, and be sure to comment below and follow us @SOPSoccer.

On this episode of Talkin’ Jacks, we had to wait a day to record because everything was so wet from watching the game on Saturday! Speaking of Saturday, the Jacks went down 1-0 to a stout St. Louis FC in a game that played out almost exactly as we expected it to. We broke down what happened on the goal, and what - if anything - the Independence could have done to get a better result in the end. Finally, we covered the news of Bilal Duckett’s retirement and the Charlotte Hounds announcing a 2 year hiatus and what impact that could have on the Independence. Thank you for listening!
