Fun interview with Country Artist Dylan Jakobsen. We chat about his new album, his traveling stories, and what defines a Dylan Jakobsen song. Website: https://www.dylanjakobsen.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DylanJakobsenMusic/ Dylan Jakobsen isn’t your typical country artist. He didn’t grow up on a farm & he doesn’t drink alcohol. His love of country music stemmed from artists like Church, Stapleton & Petty whose lyrics helped him find his voice as a writer and shape his career. “I don’t want to be just another one of many. I’m here to prove that this is where I’m supposed to be.” Though you won’t see him onstage without his acoustic, Dylan has spent the last 2 decades learning all the instruments you hear throughout his music. His first album [From Where I Began] was a testament to that strong work ethic when the release garnered him his first Country Breakout Top 50 single [Silverado] as an independent artist. Since then, Dylan was named “One of 10 New Country Artists to Watch” by The Boot, has toured the US, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia, and been a support artist on dates with Eli Young Band, Cody Johnson, Aaron Watson, LOCASH, Chase Rice, Drake White & more. His newest release [I AM] walks you through a story 25 years in the making. From writing the songs, playing the instruments & producing the album, to building the home studio to record this in, this album is so much more than he could ever imagine. “You know I wanted this album to be special, to be more than just another release and be something I was proud of from beginning to end. And my only request is that you listen the album from beginning to end, at least 1 time before you judge it. Feel my story, hear my journey, meet the real me.”
Black River recording artist Abby Anderson is a rising female in country music – she is listed in The Bobby Bones Show’s “Class of 2019,” MusicRow’s “Next Big Thing for 2019,” and Sounds Like Nashville’s “19 New Country Artists to Watch in 2019." She heads out on the road with Rob Thomas starting May 28th for his Chip Tooth Smile Tour after already playing some of the biggest festivals in the country including Tortuga and Stagecoach! We talk about many of her recent releases including a cover of GRAMMY and Oscar-winning song “Shallow” from "A Star Is Born," a collaboration with recording artist Jimmie Allen. Her latest single, “Good Lord,” is a preview to new music she has coming out soon. She shares her process of crafting a song and why Tom Douglas has been one of her greatest influences!
Jillian Cardarelli is a singer-songwriter from Boston, Massachusetts who went to Nashville to pursue her dream of being a country music singer-songwriter. In a short time, her work ethic and talent has allowed her to share the stage with the classic and contemporary singers of country music. Rolling Stone put her in the list of the 10 New Country Artists you need to know. Whether in the recording studio or on stage, it's clear that singing is what Jillian Cardarelli was born to do. Meet her on The Paul Leslie Hour!“Cardarelli's recordings blend the heritage and the modern, with her upcoming EP's tracks cut via old school full band takes at a non-Music Row studio.” -Rolling Stone Support The Paul Leslie Hour by donating to their Tip Jar: https://tips.pinecast.com/jar/the-paul-leslie-hour
The Claim2Fame Podcast is a resource for artists Every episode features successful artists and industry experts sharing compelling stories and valuable knowledge about the music industry hosted by CMA, ACM & CCMA Award Winning Broadcaster Cliff Dumas. Cliff talks to Ashley McBryde. One of Rollingstone's Top 10 New Country Artists to Watch this year about writing music even when you're having a bad day. Ashley McBryde Dubbed as one of Rolling Stone’s “Artists You Need To Know," citing she's "an Arkansas red-clay badass, with the swagger of Hank Jr. and the songwriting of Miranda Lambert," McBryde fearlessly lays it all on the line, and it's that honest all-in approach that has led to NPR critic Ann Powers to ask if McBryde could be "among the first post-Stapleton country stars?" McBryde's album will showcase an artistic vision that will prove her to be one of the genre's keenest working storytellers, bringing unwavering honesty back into a pop-preoccupied genre. Pulling tales from every corner of her human experience, McBryde sings with fire and fury, laughing and swigging that brown stuff along the way. McBryde was raised in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. At three, she'd secretly pluck her father's guitar like an upright bass, and after about the 17th time being caught, her father bought her a guitar of her own. When she was twelve, she played her parents and grandparents her very first composition. It was at Arkansas State when, while a member of the marching band, McBryde finally started sharing her voice with others, and finally moved to Nashville in 2007 where steadily worked a circuit of dive bars, biker hangouts, and colorful joints fighting to have her songs heard. Her first EP, the self-released 2016 Jalopies and Expensive Guitars was just a taste of what McBryde can do, and, on her full-length debut, she will meld her songwriting chops with the vision of producer Jay Joyce, peppering her tales with a touch of guitar-driven rock fury. McBryde isn’t afraid to tell the truth, get raw and real and use the spirits of country, folk and rock when it serves her greater purpose. And that's to tell the stories that shake us, make us and tell us a little more about what it's like to be human.
