Adam and Jason ”Mayhem” Miller are back with comedian Dave Landau and Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block. It's a jam-packed episode covering everything from stand-up's grunge era to boy band nostalgia. Adam and Dave Landau break down the evolution of comedy and music—why grunge wouldn't exist without hair metal and how American culture demands constant reinvention. Plus, Adam sounds off on Randi Weingarten's latest billionaire rant, Gavin Newsom's painfully obvious attempt at a rebrand, and the absurdity of solar panels on churches. Then, Joey McIntyre joins the show to talk New Kids on the Block, his Boston roots, and what it's really like to grow up in the biggest boy band on the planet. He shares stories from Broadway, his new solo tour, and even dishes on leaving Bill Burr hilarious voicemails. Adam Christie (comedian) is back and not a moment too soon, as he has strangely encountered a lot of genies (?) over the last few months, and needs our help sorting through it all. We sort through a lot of things on this episode, as we discuss the new Beetlejuice Fanta, Star Wars Pepsi, the milk cartons that mooed, working at Blockbuster as a movie snob, and Kirk Cousins' weird jar of stones. Plus, AutoTune the News makes a triumphant (?) return with an assist from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Stefan checks in on a QAnon account, and there's a Jeopardy! anecdote so insane that John has to have it cross over onto a BP episode. If you want to hear a bunch more crossover episodes with tons of great guests, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month will get you THREE bonus episodes every single month! Last week, our good friend Luke Taylor joined the show to discuss the Canadian CGI animation show ReBoot, and it was a grand old time. We also have ad-free episodes, an exclusive Discord, merch discounts, and when the show's main episodes end in a few weeks, the only place to find us will be on Patreon! So join now! Also, a reminder that we are going LIVE in a few weeks! On October 11th and 12th, we'll be doing 4 shows over 2 nights at Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret with our good pals Bryan Quinby and Chris James from Guys and Not Even a Show! Individual show tickets and weekend passes are available now at bit.ly/top3weekend. See you there! Comedian, Venice Surfer, Bar Owner, Chris Gorbos starts with Anton Chekhov short stories and ends with Jack Reacher headbutting his way through cheap paperbacks. The two friends exchange ride sharing experiences they felt were unexpectedly profound and how they relate them to the story of a horse and buggy driver that Chris reads every year. Chris holds Josh's feet to the fire over how the idealist expects to build a better world and they both agree that reading shouldn't be a pretentious experience.TOUR UPDATES: Joshua will be in Richmond, California September 16 & 18th doing stand up at the Factory Bar and in Chicago November 7 and 8 at the Comedy Bar downtown. The boys work on their flexibility. As we age, our flexibility wanes, our joints ache, and we huff and grunt our way out of bed every morning. So Adam proposes Team Grawlix stretch every night for a week, then measure their flexibility. A nice, easy challenge, right? But nothing is ever that simple on The Grawlix Saves the World. Instead, the boys head straight for the gutter in an effort to crown the new KING OF FLEXIBILITY. Featuring standup comedy clips from Noah Reynolds and Julia Corral! The boys get tattoos. Oh boy. This is a doozy. A simple request from Adam—that the trio get Grawlix tattoos together—takes a wild spin into Passive-Aggressive Acres (a suburb of Riff City) in a way that only a vintage GSTW episode could. The ending is such a shocking surprise that we're still not entirely sure what happened. We just know it's all great. Featuring standup comedy clips from our sweet boy Ben Roy and Anthony Crawford! Mark Little (actor/comedian) joins the show to, in his words, provide us with a "short, troubling anecdote" about how he was forced to block a guy after he sent Mark a very strange DM and turned out to be...well, not a good guy (a Nazi). Thankfully Mark was able to cut the conversation off before it got too bad and the rest of this episode is neither short nor troubling, as we chat about Mark creating one of the first viral videos ever, Powerthirst, and how that led to an appearance at a weird convention for people who made stuff that went viral (in 2009). In other news, we recorded this episode two weeks ago and Stefan says he's excited for the Canucks season (lol) and that leads to a discussion of hockey fans, EA NHL soundtracks, and Treble Charger. Plus! Hellraiser and other horror movies, the Super Mario movie, YouTube comments on classic rock videos, and John forgot that he already talked about Coyote Ugly last week. If you want to make sure you hear everything we talk about every week, head on over to patreon.com/blockedparty, where $5/month gets you access to THREE bonus episodes every single month. This week, it's a pair of video episodes as Aaron Warner from ChapoFYM and I Hate This Team joins us to watch some classic hockey highlights in the special $8 tier and above bonus, and finally, the video of us taking Jesse from Canadian Tire will see the light of day. You won't wanna miss it! Plus, you get merch discounts, access to the Discord, live show discounts, ad-free episodes, and MORE! Mark Little is an actor and comedian who hosts a show in Toronto every Friday at Comedy Bar called "Good Stuff" and you can find him on Instagram at @mark_little_comedy.
