Return To Dust embodies the sound of shedding the weight of the past while embracing the promise of tomorrow. The Los Angeles-based quartet—Matty Bielawski [guitar, vocals], Graham Stanush [bass, vocals], Sebastian Gonzalez [guitar], and London Hudson [drums]— brings a fresh perspective to alternative rock. Their music fuses powerful harmonies, fuzz-laden riffs, and seismic grooves, fueled by the raw energy of four Gen Z friends jamming in a garage. What may seem like a traditional approach on paper feels like an act of rebellion today, rippling towards a real turn of the tide. As the story goes, the band settled in Los Angeles to record with producer Jim Kaufman [Everclear, Danny Worsnop, Night Riots, Helmet]. 2024 saw them unveil their independent self-titled full-length debut, Return To Dust, featuring single “Belly Up” which surged online, organically gathering over 2 million Spotify streams. Distorted Sound hailed it as “a grungy, punky thrill ride,” while Revolver applauded the group's “Alice In Chains-inspired form of modern-day grunge.” In the aftermath, they lit up the stages at major festivals like Inkarceration, Welcome To Rockville, and Sonic Temple, while also joining rock legends Chevelle and Sevendust as support on their respective tours. Signing to LAVA Records/Republic Records with more music on the horizon, the group is poised to stand at the forefront of the next generation of rock music.
Our Friday Forum gave their reaction to last night's Dublin City Riots. Joining Pat this morning was Verona Murphy – Independent TD for Wexford, Cathal Crowe – Fianna Fáil TD for Clare and Fionnan Sheahan – Ireland Editor, Irish Independent.
Are you familiar with the White Night Riots? What about the name Harvey Milk? In San Francisco in 1978, a man named Dan White may or may not have consumed a Twinkie. And this may or may not have lead to him taking the life of mayor George Moscone and his arch nemesis, Board of Supervisor member, Harvey Milk. Does one thing seem not to correlate with the other? Yeah, we didn't think so either. (If you'd like to learn more about the so-called Twinkie Defense, please check out this episode of Maintenance Phase). But regardless, the outcome of his trial was a slap in the face to the LGBTQ+ community. Enter the White Night Riots. The White Night Riots were a watershed moment in the LGBT rights movement. The protests brought national attention to the discrimination and violence faced by the LGBTQ community, and helped to galvanize support for the fight for equal rights and brought the police brutality issues the gay community was facing front and center. The riots also forced the city of San Francisco to confront its own history of discrimination and prejudice, and to take steps towards greater inclusion and acceptance. This month, Megan covers a story that she mentioned in passing a few months ago, and Danielle demanded to know more about. This one's for you, babe! Megan talks about the assassinations of Harvey Milk and George Moscone, and the resulting “White Night” Riots. Harvey Milk was the first non-incumbent, openly gay elected official in the United States, and was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Mayor, George Moscone, was his political ally. However, on November 27, 1978, they were gunned down by a coworker, fellow Supervisor, Dan White. The jury's verdict left not only Danielle absolutely shocked, but also shocked the entire city of San Francisco. Episode 92 - Music Producer Jim Kaufman! Jim is a brilliant producer and I became a fan of his through his work with the bands The Black Moods and Them Evils. I quickly found he has done so much more throughout his career. He started his production career working under the legendary Charlie Clouser (Nine Inch Nails) on a Helmet record and the score for the first Saw movie. He quickly started producing his own records including Danny Worsnop (Asking Alexandria), Night Riots, Moon Fever and many more. Did I mention he also works with Dee Snider of Twisted Sister? This was a great conversation of all things music and amazing opportunity to pick the brain of one of the best producers out there! Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to Jeanine Pirro (Author, Don't Lie to Me) about Donald Trump's plan for post-election riots, a Manhattan DA's choosing protesters over the police, and what the real Donald Trump is like. Jeanine discusses her exclusive interview with Donald Trump where he revealed to her how he would deal with any post-election riots. She discusses the rioting and looting in major cities and how some DA's appear to be siding with rioters against the police by dismissing charges against them, but charging officers for misconduct. Jeanine discusses how she got to know Donald Trump on a personal level many years ago and what the mainstream media caricature of Donald Trump gets wrong. Learn more about your ad choices.
