From time to time on Hope Renewed we have the opportunity to sit down with pastors and talk with them about navigating the challenges of serving in the church from the viewpoints and experiences of those who are on the "frontline" in local church ministry. We're able to hear their sometimes painful stories and how they have found hope to sustain and strengthen them for the long haul. This episode is a conversation with Sean's good friend Pastor Doug Smith, serving in McBain MI.
We discuss unbiblical Worldview issues that are harmful to our society, and the fact today's Christian church has accepted some of these views. Daily podcast, relevant articles on issues pertaining to Christians and more can be found on Stand Up For The Truth.
Today, we look at how and why America has been in constant crisis mode to the point of fear and fatigue - which is all part of the enemy's agenda. We also discuss the movement to erase American history and the gravity of the recent Supreme Court LGBTQ ruling. Daily podcast, relevant articles on issues pertaining to Christians and more can be found on Stand Up For The Truth.
Topics we tackle include: Black Lives Matter, Christian worldview, some true history of slavery, God's sovereignty, social justice activism, "white privilege," police brutality, racism, forgiveness, and redemption. How should the church respond? So much could be said about the current state of our culture, but the premise of this conversation is America has gotten off track because we have abandoned truth, denied God, and expelled His laws from the public square. The Gospel is the cure, love is the answer, and a biblical worldview is absolutely necessary! Daily podcast, relevant articles on issues pertaining to Christians and more can be found on Stand Up For The Truth.
Carl Gallups joins us to discuss some of the news coming at us so quickly these days and the lack of reason and critical thinking today. We touch on the corona-virus/fear-induced impact on the nation's businesses, politics, and churches; we tackle media bias, and look at the rampant lies, emotion, and deception of the Black Lives Matter movement. Daily podcast, relevant articles on issues pertaining to Christians and more can be found on Stand Up For The Truth.
We discuss trials and the testing of our faith aside from this bizarre season of church restrictions, coronavirus fears, and now radicals rioting and wreaking havoc in cities across the country. The Supreme Court recently ruled against churches, some governors are discriminating against Christians, the fruit of leftist "education" in the U.S. and the fact 58% of young people see no problem with riots, and talk of "abolishing police departments. How did we get here? Daily podcast, relevant articles on issues pertaining to Christians and more can be found on Stand Up For The Truth.
How are globalists and the Left using the coronavirus? Are mandatory vaccinations coming? What would our Founding Fathers think of the current government lock-downs? How COVID 19 is transforming America and the world. Daily podcast, relevant articles on issues pertaining to Christians and more can be found on Stand Up For The Truth.

Happy Great Friday where God in the flesh, Jesus Christ endured the cross and crucifixion, suffering for us that we might be saved from the wrath of God! Sunday's coming, friends! First, it's been said 'Freedom is tested in the midst of a crisis.' We certainly are in a worldwide crisis that has affected nearly every family and American citizen in some way. Today we're blessed to have a guest who can provide much clarity and insight on what is happening in the midst of COVID 19 and how Christians should be responding. TODAY'S GUEST is Dr. Andy Woods, pastor of Sugar Land Bible Church, President of Chafer Theological Seminary, and founder of Andy Woods Ministries. Daily podcast, relevant articles on issues pertaining to Christians and more can be found on Stand Up For The Truth.
Today more than ever in history, America and the world needs theologically sound, Bible teaching churches, but they are more the exception than the norm. People need to see faith-centered, healthy responses to the coronavirus and government mandates during this time and always. Will the church in general use this current pandemic to love our neighbors, preach the hope of Jesus Christ, and minister to those in need - or will we follow the crowd and hoard toilet paper, hand sanitizer, guns and ammo? The worrying world needs to see the power of God in believers lives that have been transformed by the renewing of our minds. This just might be an answer to prayers for the repentance of our nation so let's consider the very real possibility of a national revival and expect God to move. Since Christianity affirms the humanity of preborn children, and that abortion is the murder of preborn children, why is it still legal in America? Sharing the gospel and making Jesus known must be top priority to those of us who claim the name of Christ, but should we not aim to end one of the greatest human miseries and moral evils ever to be entrenched in our world? Today's guest believes human beings are created in the image of Almighty God, the Creator of the universe. The weakest and most helpless among us have been subjected by this wicked culture to our acceptance of legal, and systematic destruction of life. We are simply attempting to answer the question: What does Christianity look like in a culture that practices Child Sacrifice? A small number of concerned Christians are speaking up, and that includes today's special guest, a former Ohio high school football coach and current online Christian talk show host who was offended by the onslaught of debauchery displayed last month during the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime show. He's working on suing the National Football League for its soft porn show that included a “strip-club” routine. TODAY'S GUEST - Dave Daubenmire is a former football coach and ordained minister in central Ohio and host of Pass the Salt Ministries’ web show, Coach Dave LIVE. Daubenmire is looking to take on the NFL, Fox and Pepsi in a lawsuit over what he calls a “crotch-grabbing” performance resembling soft porn during family viewing hours. It's the debate that won't go away: should Christians be involved in politics? This just leads to more questions. What do you mean by "involved," and what issues do you say are political? What issues do you say are moral? And what about the so-called separation of church and state? What about pastors and church leaders? Should they discuss politics and government - and should they do it during church services? (some of you gasp!) After all, like we discussed yesterday with Julaine Appling, someone's morality will be legislated and our government is supposed to be of the people and for the people. Then there's the confusing question of whether someone can follow Jesus and support Donald Trump. Wait, what? But it's hard not to notice the downward spiral of morality in what is often referred to as our post-Christian culture. This doesn't necessarily mean the church is dead and gone, but all polls and surveys pretty much confirm the fact that Christians are not effectively influencing government and society any longer. TODAY'S GUEST - Pastor Chris Quintana joins us to look at recent events in America and Israel through the lens of Scripture. Lots of "P's" to tackle today: pastor's perspective, politics, Pelosi, and peace plans. Chris is the senior pastor at Calvary Chapel Cypress in California. Daily podcast, relevant articles on issues pertaining to Christians and more can be found on Stand Up For The Truth.

Most of us recognize the increase of moral relativism goes hand in hand with the decline of Christianity in America. Repentance and revival are needed today more than anytime in our history! But how much time do we have? Revival starts with you and me - in our hearts. But first of all, if you are not a Christian, you can’t even be revived because you must first be “vived” or made alive in Christ. Daily podcast, relevant articles on issues pertaining to Christians and more can be found on Stand Up For The Truth.
Today's discussion is centered around the importance of context when reading and applying Scripture. Context is a safeguard for us, and will prevent us from reading our preferences into the text or 'Americanizing' hand-picked Bible verses. It all comes back to God's Word. This is our foundation built on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, the Cornerstone. No matter how much the world and culture change; Jesus Christ is the same and God never changes! We must guard against the lies of the enemy and stop allowing cultural trends and false teachings to influence the church. And as we approach Christmas, (19:35) Pastor Chuck discusses finding comfort and strength from God during a stressful and busy holiday season, with things like the "Luke challenge." We also talk about being present in the moment, (27:22) having active hobbies, finding solitude, being grateful, and how to be spiritually disciplined especially in our prayer life. Finally, Pastor Chuck describes how he started running marathons at age 50 and (36:30) is now running with his daughter.
