When Charlie Kirk passed away, many voices—from pastors to political leaders—spoke about his life and faith. At his memorial service, we heard from Pastor Rob McCoy, Senator Marco Rubio, and Frank Turek. Each had something meaningful to say, but it raises an important question: What would you say?In this episode, I share four simple but profound questions that help us talk about Charlie, about eternity, and about the hope of the gospel.Excerpts Featured in This Episode:Pastor Rob McCoy – Charlie Kirk Memorial Service (https://youtu.be/o8jAodtDcs4?si=6E2_CgzgxfeLWKQU&t=304)Senator Marco Rubio – Charlie Kirk Memorial Service (https://youtu.be/JmhQoaDJME4?si=C18ccWkzBuhY5vgE&t=300)Frank Turek – Charlie Kirk Memorial Service (https://youtu.be/ZkQUp4cDKm0?si=ImTbCNFb7B7yoggC&t=179)

Send us a textAre we watching God send revival to His people and our nation? Do we, as Christians, believe that God is able to heal our land? And are we, as Christians, willing to humble ourselves, and PRAY, and seek HIS face, and TURN from our wicked ways?2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."The blood of the Martyrs is the seed of the church." - Tertullian www.LeagueOfLogic.com

Dr. Frank Turek—best known for evangelizing college students as an apologist and author—joins me on Fearless today. We recorded this episode one week before Charlie Kirk's tragic assassination, and going back to review the interview, I was shocked at how relevant Frank's message is in light of Charlie's death. Frank was actually on campus with Charlie the day he was killed, and what we're talking about—why so many young people are walking away from the faith, how to share the Gospel with your kids—is more vital now than ever. 70% of teenagers raised in the church reject Jesus altogether when they get to college. Frank and I talk about why that is, share our personal experiences as Christians during our college years, and leave parents with practical tools for how to disciple our kids while they're still under our roofs. Where scientific evidence used to be the main argument against the truths of the Gospel, morality—or my “truth” versus your “truth”—has become the battle we must now fight as believers. In a culture where everyone wants to believe what's best for them, how do we defend and share the Good News? After the tragic events of last week, answering this question has taken on a new urgency. Let's not be silenced, instead let's move forward in strength—sharing the only truth we know will set the world free. Find more resources for parents at https://crossexamined.org/.
We are just shy of two weeks since Charlie Kirk was assassinated. Charlie sought to dialogue with those who disagreed to prove him wrong. Those who hated him, hated him fiercely for his beliefs, both his conservative political beliefs, which flowed from his spiritual beliefs, but also his belief in Christianity and Jesus Christ. However, Charlie was not about riots and uprisings; he believed in dialogue. This was the very matter as you'll hear in an audio clip of Van Jones as he sat with Anderson Cooper to describe his relationship with Charlie Kirk last week on CNN. Next, Jim referenced a New York Post article that noted how some 200,000 people turned out to honor Charlie Kirk on Sunday, including President Trump, who called Charlie a "patriot who's heart still had so much to give." State Farm stadium had a capacity of 73,000 yet filled up within hours. Next up were members of President Trump's Administration who were not shy when talking about the spiritual impact of Charlie. This included audio clips from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. While many Crosstalk listeners may have heard Erika Kirk's address, there are many who have not. Jim shared it in its entirety courtesy of TPUSA.com along with final comments from Christian apologist Frank Turek and Charlie's pastor, Rob McCoy.
In this special episode, host Arlenys Buckelew is joined by her friend Jenna Ellis for an honest and heartfelt conversation in the aftermath of the murder of Charlie Kirk.Together, they wrestle with the critical and timely question:“How do we respond biblically as the days grow evil?”Drawing from Scripture, personal testimonies, and the legacy of Charlie Kirk, Arlenys and Jenna explore the Christian response to suffering, justice, forgiveness, and boldness in proclaiming the gospel in an increasingly hostile world. This episode offers biblical encouragement, gospel-centered wisdom, and hope for believers navigating dark times—while reflecting on the eternal importance of living out our faith with courage, conviction, and compassion.Follow Jenna for more: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jennaellismedia/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JennaEllisEsq45X: https://x.com/realJennaEllisJenna Ellis in the Morning: https://afr.net/podcasts/jenna-ellis-in-the-morning/If God, Why Evil? The Devotional grapples with the persistent question of why evil exists in a world governed by a good God, drawing heavily on Frank Turek's presentation honoring Charlie Kirk and emphasizing Christ's ultimate victory over evil's lies. Through a series of raw questions and thoughtful responses, the message asserts that evil is not God's fault but a consequence of human free will, and that even in the face of accusations and suffering, truth and love—calling sin for what it is—remain essential for salvation. Ultimately, the sermon serves as a call to unwavering faith, urging listeners to confront doubt, share the gospel boldly, and recognize that Christ's resurrection offers a powerful and enduring triumph over darkness and falsehood. Pastor Jack and Frank Turek explore a compelling point: for Christianity to be true, only two key facts need to be established. First, that God exists and, second, that Jesus rose from the dead. In this episode, we continue our discussion of atheist arguments against the existence of God. We primarily talk about the problem of evil, and Gerrit discusses a point that both the atheist and Christian miss, which is that despite the suffering in this life, the suffering in the next life is much worse, and there is no opportunity for justice for the majority of God's creations. Gerrit Dandometer: most controlled we have seen Gerrit in some time, but toward the end gets up to 402,836 Kristy's KorneЯ (Last Minute Lesson Prep): Gerrit discusses the miraculous nature of the D&C 87 and the prophecy of the coming Civil War Sign up for our free monthly email (seldom monthly): https://standardoftruthpodcast.substack.com If you have any questions or possible topics of discussion for upcoming podcasts, please email us at: questions@standardoftruthpodcast.com Clips played on the show came from the following YouTube videos: John MacArthur: Why Does God Allow So Much Suffering and Evil? - https://youtu.be/UTRm1go2Qw4?si=nwkqn18hic6HB7sw If God, Why Evil? | Dr. Frank Turek - https://youtu.be/V2eNyrknOAk?si=FaUq0z1bcl9XMrJ1 Arguments For Atheism Tier List - https://youtu.be/s_5vfQE6_yE?si=-nWylNO1qiuVy-Wb Alex O'Connor UNLOADS on Catholic Apologist: "Your God Let This Happen?" - https://youtu.be/9gND_uHQtlY?si=n49K5tjR_gcO5sLP

God's creation shows us His invisible attributes. He uses His creation to lead us to Christ, through whom and for whom the entirety of the heavens and earth were made (Colossians 1). Daniel Ray recently met a former atheist who became a Christian and who has recently completed the final edits on a remarkable docudrama film about the cosmos and how it all points us to Jesus. The film is called Universe Designed and it is the passion project of our guest on Apologetics for the next two weeks, filmmaker Michael Ray Lewis. Universe Designed rivals anything produced by National Geographic or the Discovery Channel, without the naturalism of course, and is entirely Christ-centered. It is due to be released sometime toward the end of this year. Here on part one, Michael shares with us his story about how God began a good work in his life. For more information about the film Universe Designed, visit the official website at https://www.UniverseDesigned.comResources from Watchman Fellowship: Watchman Fellowship 4-page Profile on Scientism by Dr. Luke Barnes and Daniel Ray: www.watchman.org/Scientism Watchman Fellowship 4-page Profile on Carl Sagan's Cosmos by Daniel Ray: www.watchman.org/CosmosTV Watchman Fellowship 4-page Profile on Naturalism by Daniel Ray: www.watchman.org/Naturalism Book: The Story of the Cosmos by Daniel Ray:www.watchman.org/CosmosBook FREE: We are also offering a subscription to our 4-page bimonthly Profiles here: www.watchman.org/Free.PROFILE NOTEBOOK: Order the complete collection of Watchman Fellowship Profiles (over 600 pages -- from Astrology to Zen Buddhism) in either printed or PDF formats here: www.watchman.org/notebook. Today, Frank Turek of Cross Examined explains to us how the bible lying about the appearances of Jesus is how we know that the bible is telling the truth about the appearances of Jesus. A new MP3 sermon from Alpha and Omega Ministries is now available on SermonAudio with the following details: Title: Frank Turek on Predestination, a Roman Critique of EOism as "Petrified," and Andrew I Subtitle: The Dividing Line 2025 Speaker: Dr. James White Broadcaster: Alpha and Omega Ministries Event: Podcast Date: 6/9/2025 Length: 79 min.
Played a clip where Dr. Turek uses a form of Molinism to respond to a question on predestination. Before or after that (funny how it is hard to remember right after doing the show!) we looked at a graphic where a Roman Catholic says the Orthodox are "Petrified" as in fossilized in time, and what that might mean. Then we spent the rest of the time looking at my exchange with Andrew Isker on the imprisonment and eventual death of Fritz Erbe and others in the sacral period after the Reformation. A useful exposure of where Isker, and those allied with him, are really going.
Laura Zifer Powell seemed to be doing everything right. A top-tier student and Division I athlete at Duke University, she was driven, disciplined, and outwardly successful. But beneath the surface, something was missing. The more she achieved, the emptier she felt. And when a health crisis brought everything to a halt, the questions she had avoided for years finally caught up with her: What is all this for? What's the point of being good if it still doesn't satisfy? In this candid conversation, Laura shares her journey from moral pragmatist and religious skeptic to a confident follower of Christ. She opens up about the moment everything changed—a late-night plea to a God she wasn't sure existed, and the quiet unraveling that followed. If you've ever asked, “Is this all there is?” or wrestled with the gap between outward success and inward emptiness, Laura's story offers more than answers—it offers hope. Guest Bio: Laura Zifer Powell is a Christian apologist, writer, and speaker. She is the founder of An Affair with Reason and co-host of the Knight and Rose Show podcast. She graduated from Duke University with a bachelor's in public policy, earned her master's degree from Denver Seminary, and is currently working on her Doctor of Ministry in Public Theology from Birmingham Theological Seminary. She has ministered in over thirty countries on five continents and has seen first-hand how false worldviews harm and destroy God's image bearers, while the Christian worldview leads people and societies toward human flourishing. As an apologist, she shares evidence for the biblical worldview and discusses how our worldview ought to impact every area of life, from our relationships to our public policy and economics. Her blog, previous interviews, and speaking request form can be found at her website, www.AnAffairWithReason.com, and her 20-lesson online course, Islam Foundations, is available at womeninapologetics.com. After his resurrection, Luke 24 records that Jesus walked with two of his disciples on the road to Emmaus, and during that journey, we're told that “Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” So what OT passages did Jesus likely have in mind as he discussed the Hebrew Bible with these two disciples? Despite Bill Maher hotboxing him for almost two hours, Charlie held his own in a wide-ranging discussion of faith and politics on Maher's Club Random podcast. Christian apologist Frank Turek responds to Maher's arguments against religious belief, explaining why we know Jesus existed and what the best arguments are for the Biblical account being true. Alex Marlow gives his own reaction, and then asks whether the AOC/Bernie alliance can become the Democrats' answer to the MAGA movement's grassroots energy.
