Bob and Josh sit with a hard truth this week. The change rolling through software and leadership isn't optional anymore. It's not Agile in 2007, where you could adopt it or sit it out. AI is rewriting what application development looks like, what team size means, and what kind of leader your organization actually needs. The good news is you're standing in a greenfield. Not your codebase. You. Your hiring approach, your operating model, the way you lead, all of it is open for redesign right now.Bob shares the cartoon that captures the whole problem (everyone lines up to change others, nobody lines up to change themselves), walks through reframing as a daily leadership tool, and gets honest about applying it in his own caregiving life with his wife.Josh challenges leaders to stop letting ambiguity happen to them and start steering into the maelstrom on purpose. If you've been waiting for things to settle before you make a move, this is the nudge to stop waiting. In this Monday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan opens with a chilling report on growing assassination rhetoric against President Trump, including coded social media calls from Democrats and Leftists that researchers say are meant to dehumanize the President and normalize political violence. He then breaks down the Trump administration's intensifying immigration crackdown, from massive fines against illegal aliens and expanded denaturalization efforts to the firing of immigration judges, faster ICE training, record self-deportations, and new welfare restrictions. Bryan argues these policies are directly threatening Democrat political power, which is why he believes the rhetoric and rage on the Left are escalating. Plus, Bryan covers Iran's rejection of Trump's latest peace proposal, the possibility of expanded U.S. naval action in the Strait of Hormuz, and why he believes covert action may be needed to tighten the economic siege on Tehran. He also updates listeners on Ukraine, Putin's possible interest in peace, the political earthquake in the UK as the Reform Party rises, and medical news on blood pressure, microplastics, and vitamin deficiencies tied to GLP-1 weight-loss drugs.   "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32     Keywords: Trump assassination rhetoric Democrats 86 47 James Comey, political violence Leftist extremism United States 2026, Trump immigration crackdown fines denaturalization deportation judges, illegal alien self deportation welfare cuts ICE training, Iran rejects Trump peace deal Strait of Hormuz Project Freedom, Operation Anaconda Squeeze Iran blockade covert action, Ukraine war update Putin peace pressure Russia economy, UK Reform Party election victory Keir Starmer Labour collapse, legumes blood pressure study microplastics brain health, GLP-1 vitamin deficiency Ozempic Wegovy risks, Bryan Dean Wright podcast, The Wright Report

Ikasu Brewing founder Masahiro "Masa" Kitano believes his Los Angeles-based, contract-brewed brand has found its niche, leaning into "weird and good beer" that taps into Japanese culinary ingredients.    Kitano's history as a home brewer helped him craft out-of-the-ordinary beers, such as a matcha-infused gose.   "It's a sour beer with the aroma of matcha, but it doesn't look green," he said. "You smell it and it's super unique. No one's thought about combining sour beer with matcha."    Kitano's beer, as well as his story of leaving a career as a medical researcher to chase his brewing dream, coupled with his infectious personality, propelled him to victory during Brewbound's Pitch Slam competition at the 2025 Brewbound Live business conference last December.   On this week's Brewbound Podcast, Kitano shares an update on the business following the win and why he believes his pitch resonated.   "I tried to make the pitch as simple as possible, a little bit stupid and a little be funny – magically it worked out," he said. "I'm so glad that happened."   In the months since, the draft-only brand added several bar and restaurant accounts following the win and recently signed with L.A. Distributing Co., Kitano said.    Ikasu continues to operate out of Los Angeles-based Native Son, where the brand has six taps dedicated to its beer. The relationship has helped Ikasu test new offerings and connect with a built-in audience.    In this episode, Kitano goes deeper into his innovation process, as well as his aspirations for Ikasu, including plans to can Larigato, Ikasu's Japanese rice lager, later this year for distribution.   Before the conversation, the Brewbound team discusses craft beer's 2025 production report released earlier this week by the Brewers Association. They dive into why Sierra Nevada leapfrogging Boston Beer as the No. 2 independent craft brewery by volume highlights the successes of one brewery and the shift in focus away from beer of the other.   The trio also explore Mark Anthony Brands' deal for the Finnish Long Drink, and which RTD dominos are left to fall/cash in.

While Trump made public statements this week about bringing the war to an end soon, there is significant troop movement in the Middle East suggesting the opposite. There is no telling what comes next, and there is no path to opening up the Strait of Hormuz without a huge escalation. Iran now has control over the Strait and who passes through, benefiting their allies and America's adversaries. Meanwhile higher energy prices won't go away when the war stops and if we get another dose of inflation - which tends to fuel political radicalization - can the centre hold? In the second half of the show Rudyard and Janice turn to the NDP and the election of Avi Lewis as the new party leader. He is moving the NDP further left, promising free public grocery stores and transportation. What is the appetite in Canada for this kind of hard-left politics? Can Lewis excite the public with the same energy that propelled Zohran Mamdani to victory in New York City? And are we underestimating the combination of Avi Lewis and his wife Naomi Klein as a powerful political force capable of reworking the NDP into a populist party? Pacific Crossroads Church South Bay

Parades often showcase an event like the Annual Rose Parade in Pasadena or celebrate a great achievement like the Dodgers winning the World Series. But rarely does a parade lead to a devastating or tragic ending. We will be taking a break from our Parable series this Sunday to look at a different parade, when Jesus enters Jerusalem during Passover week. On the outside, Jesus' entry into Jerusalem looks a lot like a triumphant and festive event, with the crowds cheering and Jesus receiving a hero's welcome. But ultimately this event will look much different in a few days, as the crowds will stop cheering, and His closest disciples will be nowhere to be found. As Passion Week begins on Sunday, let us recognize the Son of Man, our Savior King (Mark 11:1-11), parading not to a throne, but on His way to the Cross, as the suffering servant who came not to be served, but to serve as a ransom for many!

Amid chaos and growing recession fear, economist Yaruss leans into gold

Money Life with Chuck Jaffe

Economist Howard Yaruss, the author of "Understandable Economics" and a professor at New York University, says that the market and the economy are strong on average, but that "chaos" — including the international tensions that escalated in Iran over the weekend, but also tariff and trade policies and more — should have investors leaning into gold. Yaruss notes that the market has seen so much speculative activity — including trillions for dollars invested into artificial intelligence infrastructure — so that when people see smaller-than-expected payback, the market and economy could go through the kind of demoralizing event that, historically, creates a recession.    Yaruss isn't the only one focused on chaos, as Vijay Marolia, chief investment officer at Regal Point Capital, talks in "The Week That Is' about "disruption" being the keyword for the week and beyond. He says that tensions in the Middle East have the potential to disrupt the oil market, noting how artificial intelligence has disrupted software stocks and, more broadly, technology companies and the market itself, but he also says that investors need to avoid disrupting their own portfolios by over-reacting to the headlines and the rapid-fire emotional swings.    Building on that theme of changes impacting the market's leading sector — and continuing a theme from recent Danger Zone segments, Kyle Guske, investment analyst at New Constructs, says that technology stocks outside of the Mag 5 are headed for trouble. And, yes, he calls it the "Mag 5" because he doesn't think two companies come close to still qualifying as "magnificent."    Plus, Herb Greenberg, editor of Herb Greenberg's Red Flag Alerts, discusses his recent coverage of Blue Owl's private credit meltdown and how the company's answers to questions on private credit may be a sign of more trouble ahead, not just for the BDC company – which has been hammered since it stopped redemptions in a non-traded BDC due to problems with some of its software lending – but for private credit markets generally.

Dominic Pappalardo, chief multi-asset strategist at Morningstar Wealth, discusses the firm's outlook for 2026, noting that the market has rewarded the sellers of artificial intelligence technologies, but at some point the buyers of AI technology will "need to show material gains from those investments" to justify the spending and maintain AI profits. As a result, he is cautious on artificial intelligence and technology stocks, but he is positive on the market and says he expects to see strong opportunities in small-cap stocks and international plays, particularly in emerging markets. Cullen Roche discusses his new book, "Your Perfect Portfolio: The Ultimate Guide to Using the World's Most Powerful Investment Strategies," which examines what it takes to apply some of the most famous investment strategies of all time to an individual investment portfolio, and what to expect for results. Roche, who is founder and chief investment officer of the Discipline Funds, also discusses why it is more important for investors to focus on "you" rather than on "perfect." Plus Todd Rosenbluth, head of research at VettaFi, revisits a fund that he made the ETF of the Week last year to give it the honor again. Repeats are rare in ETF of the Week history, but results alone might deserve it here; the fund he picked — tied to cryptocurrency — has had three stellar calendar years and is already up more than 33 percent for the first few weeks of 2026.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour host Scot Bertram fills in for Jim on Wednesday's 3 Martini Lunch. Join Scot and Greg as they dig into new polling showing most Americans leaning right on key cultural and political issues, media disinterest in the attempt to attack Supreme Court justices with hundreds of explosives, and the arrogant behavior of California's leading Democrat candidate for governor. First, they break down the latest Harvard/Harris poll revealing that most Americans want  all criminal illegal aliens deported and a majority wants all illegal immigrants removed. Large majorities also support rooting out government waste and fraud and oppose biological men competing in women's sports. Scot and Greg break down why we're seeing these results. Next, they expose the surprisingly quiet coverage of an attempted terrorist attack against Supreme Court justices at Washington's annual Red Mass. A man was arrested on site with more than 200 explosives. And yet the media seem to have little interest in the story. Could it be the would-be terrorist's manifesto explaining why he wanted to kill several of the justices? Finally, they spotlight an obnoxious interview from former Rep. Katie Porter, who is now leading the Democratic field for California governor. Porter could not handle a few simple follow-up questions from a reporter and was on the verge of cutting off the interview as a result. Unfortunately, this performance is very on brand for Porter. Please visit our great sponsors:Support your health with Dose Daily.  Save 25% on your first month when you subscribe at https://DoseDaily.co/3ML or enter code 3ML at checkout. OneSkin uses the patented OS-01 Peptide™ to improve skin and scalp health at the cellular level—try it now with 15% off using code 3ML at https://OneSkin.coCelebrate World Mental Health Day by starting your journey with BetterHelp—get 10% off your first month at https://BetterHelp.com/3ML

The fallout from President Donald Trump's decision last week to fire the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics over what he called a ‘rigged' jobs report continued Monday, as White House officials rushed to defend his actions. Amid growing bipartisan outcry, National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett put the blame on a familiar culprit in the Trump Cinematic Universe: The Deep State. He told CNBC, “All over the U.S. government, there have been people who have been resisting Trump everywhere they can.” Trump is expected to announce his new pick to run the BLS this week, but already he's made that person's job – and the bureau's job – harder by making Americans even less likely to trust their data. Heidi Shierholz, who served as the chief economist at the Department of Labor under President Barack Obama and now runs the nonpartisan labor think tank the Economic Policy Institute, joins us to talk about the BLS, the important data it compiles, and what the hell a revision is.And in headlines: Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott escalated the redistricting fight with state Democrats, Republican Rep. Nancy Mace announced her campaign for South Carolina governor, and the Trump administration has reportedly backtracked on the president's campaign promise to make health insurers cover IVF.Show notes:Call Congress – 202-224-3121Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcastFollow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday
