Jesus changed the world—one table at a time. Whether He was eating with tax collectors, reclining with friends, or feeding the multitudes, Jesus used the table as a place of welcome, witness, and transformation. In this five-week series, we'll reimagine evangelism not as a presentation to perfect, but as an invitation to extend. Using the acronym T.A.B.L.E., we'll learn how to reach those around us with love, authenticity, and boldness—one meal, one conversation, one act of kindness at a time. Each week, we unpack a simple, intentional step that brings us closer to someone far from God—and brings them closer to the life-changing love of Jesus.

We all dream about the future and what it may one day look like. Dreaming about the future is healthy; we should never withhold expressing our desires, goals, or dreams about it. Sometimes, it helps to share our dreams aloud and even with others. Lending our voice to them may help us clarify what we are dreaming about doing or considering for the future. For those who are followers of Jesus, always know, you have an enemy who specializes in killing your dreams. He sometimes steals your joy and even plants doubt in every good thought you have about the future. Satan is your dream-killer! Please do not listen to him or his demonic voices that will often ring aloud in your ears and even in your heart. I am not talking today about the dreams you have when you sleep. I am talking about the dreams you have for your future—your goals, thoughts, and objectives for the days ahead. These ideas that are in us may, in fact, become our path for the future, most especially when we learn how to talk to God about our dreams. The Dream-Killer, Satan, the Devil himself, tells you that you have no value and no future ahead of you. To some of you, he claims that you are a failure. To others, he says you are too old. Listen to me: you are never too old or too young to dream about the future! So whether you are waiting tables in a restaurant, going to class as a college student, a CEO of a Fortune 100 company, a retired woman in assisted living, a young couple facing insurmountable debt, parents of teenagers considering their futures ahead, or you are now empty nesters, or as a young single adult with a college degree and your entire future is ahead of you, this podcast is for all of you. Whatever age or stage of life you're in, whether you're a dreamer or someone who makes fun of others who dream about the future, this podcast is for you.

Preparing For Life As It Was Meant To Be | Week 3: How Do We Talk To God // Kelly Walter // In our hyper-connected world, disconnection still persists. We still long for genuine relationships, but we attempt to fill that void with material success and hobbies. Yet, you cannot replace the irreplaceable need to connect with God and one another for true fulfillment. In this series, we'll get connected to prepare for our next spiritual growth campaign, Life As It Was Meant To Be - Connecting With God Through The Lord's Prayer.
We explore how the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:5-15 can guide you in learning to talk to God—especially when words don't come easily. If you're walking through a breakup or a tough season, this isn't about saying the “right” thing, but about showing up honestly. This episode is inspired by the Practicing the Way course on prayer— it's full of practical tools to help you actually live this out: https://www.practicingtheway.org/prayer
Send us a textConversation is an art form. It must be learned. Perhaps that is why there are so many problems between people today, because they don't know how to talk to each other or to God.This message will instruct you and encourage you to engage with good conversation with God. Prayer changes things and it is a gift God has given us.Paul also gives instructions on how to talk to people. He gives some very simple ways we can engage in and the outcome will always be good. Sharifa Stevens Kay Daigle Sharifa Stevens, author of When We Talk to God: Prayers and Poems for Black Women, talks with Kay Daigle about her book. Although it's written with black women in mind, any woman can identify with most of the feelings that permeate this beautiful book. This is a book that prays women's feelings, as the Psalms do. There is something for each reader as Sharifa pours out her heart in these prayers and poems. I'm Kay with Beyond Ordinary Women Ministries. Welcome to our podcast. Our guest today is actually one of our ministry team members, Sharifa Stevens. And today she is the one being interviewed rather than just one of our team members. So, Sharifa, it's so great to see you as always. Sharifa >> It's always a pleasure to see you, Kay. Kay >> Now, Sharifa, according to her book, Sharifa is a writer, a poet, a speaker, and a singer. And it's all true. Sharifa >> It's true. This is going to be so fun! Kay >> I don't know... I'm not quite sure why you think this is so funny. That's the wonderful things that you are. Sharifa >> It is. It's wonderful. Kay >> She looks so sad. Sharifa >> I'm so sorry. I'm not. I'm so happy. Kay >> Anyway, we won't talk about you anymore if it'll make you feel better. Sharifa >> Okay. Kay >> You can read Sharifa's entire bio on our site BeyondOrdinaryWomen.org. So today we are talking to Sharifa because she has a book, and it is beautiful. It is one of the prettiest books I've ever seen. And it is When We Talk to God: Prayers and Poems for Black Women. So Sharifa, actually, I was just really blown away by your book, by the beauty of it, by so many of the poems and prayers in it. It just really touched my heart in a lot of ways. It reminded me a lot of the psalms, which mean a whole lot to me, because you had a lot of raw emotion in there like the psalmist, and it all came from your heart. And there's no doubt about it. That kind of expressed your deepest thoughts. And, you know, just like the Psalms that give us words to pray when we don't know what to say to God. I see your book is doing that for a lot of people there. There will be a lot of poems and prayers in here that will be very dear to many women who will read them and pray them over and over. I think, just like the Psalms, it will help people when they face difficulties be anchored in the Word when that happens. Thank you for doing this. Sharifa >> Thank you for those affirming words. And I am especially honored that you would draw a parallel to the Psalms because that was my goal. And I see the Bible as being so vivid and rich with emotional depth that it's not just an intellectual exercise to read the Bible. It is spiritual, and it's also emotional, and it reflects the fullness of God's love and of our humanity. And so in the book, I wanted to reflect some of that back to the frankness and intimacy of the Psalms and the prophetic voice of the prophets, and the thirst for justice that echoes throughout the prophetic books, and also the playfulness of the Song of Solomon. They're just different beats in the Bible. There's history, there's lamentation, there's so much praise,
Send us a textSo many people do not have a conversant relationship with God because they don't know how to talk to Him. Actually they would say they don't know how to pray.I heard someone say on a TV show they didn't know any prayers and the other person said I know a prayer I was taught. That is not really what God is looking for. He is not looking for memorized phrases, He is looking for convrersation. Think of Prayer as talking, talking to God for that is what it is.Once you are relaxed in this area, you will learn prayer is not something to fear or to think you will fail in. It's just talking to God.
Jesus Followers Can Personally Talk to God, the Universe's Creator, About Issues Like His Will for You; but Do You? MESSAGE SUMMARY: As a Jesus Follower, you have a personal relationship with God, the Creator of the Universe; and you can talk to God like you talk to your father. Remember God loves you. Imagine climbing up into His lap and imagine Him wrapping His arms around you – He is God your loving father. As God tells you in 2 Samuel 7:14-15: “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you.". You need to start talking to Him as the best dad there could ever be. Talk to God, regularly, about your life; your concerns; and your needs. You need to ask Him for His counsel, and you need to ask Him questions regarding His will for your life. TODAY'S PRAYER: Father, may the pains I experience in life kill the things that need to die in me — arrogance, pride, and indifference to others. Help me, daily, to see my frailty and how dependent I am on you, the Master of the Universe. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 72). Zondervan. When you think about God, what comes to mind? A distant judge? A cosmic boss? Or a compassionate Father who longs to be with you? In this message, Pastor David opens our new series on prayer by showing how Jesus invites us not into performance—but into presence. Through the aching words of the disciples, “Lord, teach us to pray,” we discover that prayer isn't a skill to master—it's a relationship to practice.
It is good not to talk very long about God without talking to God. Frequently interrupt your talking about God by talking to God.

Send us a textSome people are insecure, even intimidated when it comes to talking to God. That's because they don't understand what that really means. The word "prayer" scares them. but prayer is simply conversation with God like it would be with a friend. We don't talk to God to inform Him because He is omniscient. We talk to God to have fellowship with. Conversation deepens friendships. So let this message give you a model for prayer. think of it as talking points, ideas to speak to God about. This will enhance your walk with Him and you may find yourself talking to Him more and more throughout the day.
In this week's episode -- the thirteenth episode in our "overcomers" -- we will discuss how to leave behind prayer-lessness and become prayer-ful, the different kinds of prayer, how not to pray and more! Let’s talk about prayer. If we’re honest, and we should be, as believers we can find ourselves in a pickle. My mind wanders. I keep saying the same things over and over again. My prayers seem to bounce off the ceiling. I pray and look for answers and nothing happens. All of this leads us to pack our bags and go on a guilt trip. Don’t do that! Many people struggle with doubts about the authenticity of their communication with the divine. Cultural and religious expectations can impose restrictive norms on how to communicate with God, adding to the frustration for those seeking more personal spiritual interactions. Today's guest is Neale Donald Walsch, the renowned author of Conversations with God and GodTalk. Neale explores deep spiritual connections beyond traditional religious frameworks, offering transformative insights on personalizing one's relationship with God and how to recognize divine messages in everyday situations. Neale articulates that conversations with God are not restricted to specific individuals but are a universal phenomenon, regularly dismissed as intuition or psychic hits. Additionally, Neale clarifies that God is not an external entity but resides within each person as an inherent essence.
