We are welcomed by an extremely special guest who has been mentioned MANY times by J.Mix, but the listeners never got a name... til now. In honor of their 10th anniversary, J.Mix is sitting down with her boyfriend, Theo, to reminisce about their relationship, which just so happens to fall on the interracial spectrum. In this episode, they dive deeper into the racially-charged challenges they've had to overcome. They also address why their long-term relationship has yet to graduate to the legally permanent contract that is expected of partnerships that last longer than 2.5 years. Movies discussed: Nocebo, Leave, The Witch: Part 1 – The Subversion, Midnight Snack (short) This week we dig all of Nocebo, half of Leave, and think The Witch would be better if it weren't only half a movie. Also, this week we saw the most appalling, soul-rending and disgusting thing we've ever seen in our 11 years of horror movie watching. It wasn't blood, guts or gore, either. Just four words and two hyphens: Hard-boiled eggs and 7-Up. Next episodes assignments: Panic Fest 2023! Yeah we're gonna plow through as much content as we can in the Virtual Festival. You should too! Watch along with us if you like and we'll see you next episode. The post Episode 454 – Have Your Egg Bags Ready appeared first on Horror Show Hot Dog.

Today we are joined by Michael Egel, general and artistic director with the Des Moines Metro Opera. It's been a whirlwind of a week for Egel and his team. They had to make the tough decision to cancel the in-person 2020 summer festival. But the good news: Thanks to a partnership with Iowa PBS, the Opera will hold a Virtual Festival. We go through all the details on this episode. To learn more about the Des Moines Metro Opera or to support, visit desmoinesmetroopera.org. Music by Admiral Bob.
