    Ivy Insights

The Self-Aware Millennial podcast is an incredible show that I have been following for quite some time now. Hosted by Jess, a familiar face and voice in the NOLA community, this podcast offers a refreshing and honest perspective on various topics. Whether you are a resident of the 504 or not, listening to Jess's thoughts and experiences is an absolute must.

One of the best aspects of The Self-Aware Millennial podcast is Jess herself. Having known her for a long time and having worked with her on numerous occasions, I can attest to her authenticity and passion for what she does. She has a unique ability to engage listeners with her storytelling skills and relatable content. Her deep understanding of the NOLA community shines through in every episode, making it truly enjoyable to listen to.

Another great aspect of this podcast is the wide range of topics covered. From social issues to personal growth, Jess dives into discussions that are both informative and thought-provoking. She has a knack for tackling difficult subjects and unpacking them in a way that encourages listeners to think critically and open their minds to different perspectives. The variety in topics ensures that each episode brings something new to the table, keeping the audience engaged and eager for more.

Despite its many strengths, there are also some shortcomings to The Self-Aware Millennial podcast. One aspect that could be improved upon is the frequency of episode releases. While it is understandable that producing high-quality content takes time, as a loyal listener, I sometimes find myself eagerly waiting for new episodes. Increasing the consistency of releases would help maintain momentum and keep fans satisfied.

In conclusion, The Self-Aware Millennial podcast is an exceptional show that deserves recognition within the podcasting community. Through her honest and fresh approach, Jess creates an environment where listeners can learn, grow, and engage in meaningful conversations around important topics. Despite minor drawbacks such as infrequent releases, this podcast remains one of my favorites, and I eagerly look forward to what Jess and her team have in store for future episodes.

Sometimes, personal goals get lost because we say yes to other people's goals without assessing whether or not they align with ours. Though there is something valuable to take from every experience, we have to constantly evaluate whether or not what we are currently doing is nourishing us or depleting us. J.Mix is joined by her talented friends, Pat Smith & Lefty Lucy, to talk shop about how they are prioritizing gigs and artistic experiences that nourish their purpose and goals. They also acknowledge their shared clinical diagnosis and how they nurture it whilst pursuing their endeavors.  Lefty breaks down why she enthusiastically aligns her productions with historically marginalized communities at the forefront. J.Mix is a multi-hyphenate performing artist born & raised in New Orleans, LA. She is a Loyola University Music School graduate with over fifty theatrical credits since 2006. For the vast majority of her career, she's sung the tunes of other composers and songwriters in theatrical and classical spaces. Over the last three years, she has begun releasing original music and has found fulfillment & freedom in sharing herself in this way.On Friday, October 25th, her new(ish) single, "Circles 2.0” will be released on streaming services. It's "new(ish)" because this song is a re-imagining of the previous single “Circles” released with the Songwriter Collab in 2022. In her opinion, this latest iteration feels more like an accurate representation of who she is as an artist and of the sound/musical ideas she hopes to evolve into as her solo artist career grows.Enjoy this episode on her creative journey.Stay In The Mix on Social Media (IG & TikTok):Follow J.Mix @jmixplainsitallFollow The Self-Aware Millennial @theselfawaremillennialWanna give your thoughts about this episode?
