Season 2, Raw Tidbit 3 - Health Testing In this episode, we discuss health testing of dogs. We cover what is health testing, how it should be used, the pitfalls of removing a dog from the genetic population due to a failed test, and other items regarding health testing. Raw Tidbit - Cropping and Docking This is a very controversial topic within the dog world. However, research and proper vet care are key with these. They should never be done by a non-licensed vet. We are of the mindset that cropping and docking should be a breeder/owner choice and not something that is banned by a government. These procedures are banned in the UK, most of Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. If you think they are cruel, that is your opinion and your choice to get a dog that is cropped/docked or left natural. It is your choice and do your homework will always be the phrases with this podcast.
Episode 5 - Carolina Dog This breed is native to the US and was discovered and documented in the wild in South Carolina. It is still discovered in the wild in a few places today. It is also a domestic dog breed that is AKC FSS recognized. It looks similar to other pariah type dogs like the Canaan Dog and Dingo. However, our main focus is on vet etiquette, things that every dog owner should do when taking their animal to a vet, some breed generalities, and many other random things. This is Iceland’s only native dog breed and has been around from centuries. Raw Tidbit 6 - Dating and Dog Shows We discuss dating etiquette at dog shows. We include some pitfalls to avoid, some things that must be done, and general things that are unique to dating someone who is involved in dog shows. We also discuss children at shows and how the spouse can help assist the other spouse by helping make sure that the children are having as much fun as possible but not stressing out people.
Episode 13 - Extinct Breeds Part 1 In this episode, we focus on the breeds tat have already gone extinct. We focus on a subset of extinct breeds and we will cover more extinct breeds later.
