Raw Tidbit - So You Want to Breed Your Dog We discuss the ins and outs of breeding your dog. It isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Breeding a dog is a massive responsibility and if you aren't prepared for that, then don't breed your dog.

Season 3 - Episode 1 - Norwegian Dunker This unique rare breed hails from Norway but is incredibly rare outside of Scandinavia. Season 2, Raw Tidbit 3 - Health Testing In this episode, we discuss health testing of dogs. We cover what is health testing, how it should be used, the pitfalls of removing a dog from the genetic population due to a failed test, and other items regarding health testing.  As always, raw tidbit episodes are generic dog topics that we discuss our opinions of. 

Episode 6 - Airedale Terrier This is the king of all terriers. This versatile breed was bred to be an all-around farm dog, ratter, retriever, and even war dog. Raw Tidbit - Cropping and Docking This is a very controversial topic within the dog world. However, research and proper vet care are key with these. They should never be done by a non-licensed vet. We are of the mindset that cropping and docking should be a breeder/owner choice and not something that is banned by a government. These procedures are banned in the UK, most of Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. If you think they are cruel, that is your opinion and your choice to get a dog that is cropped/docked or left natural.  It is your choice and do your homework will always be the phrases with this podcast.

Episode 5 - Carolina Dog This breed is native to the US and was discovered and documented in the wild in South Carolina. It is still discovered in the wild in a few places today. It is also a domestic dog breed that is AKC FSS recognized. It looks similar to other pariah type dogs like the Canaan Dog and Dingo. This sport is open to all dogs, regardless of breed and if they are purebred or not. Raw Tidbit 9 - Socialization and Temperament In this lengthy Raw Tidbit, we focus on Socialization and Temperament. Huge thanks to Jaci for recommending this topic. We explain socialization and how it should be a controlled thing for dogs. We explain some of the best and worst things that you can do when socializing a dog. After that, we feed the socialization into a discussion on proper temperament and why it is critically important for breeds. Temperament is a critical element in breed type and what makes a certain breed behave in a certain way. We extol he virtues of some breeds and how their differences are what make them great. Episode 16 - Post-Dog Show Special with Sam In this episode, we are joined with our good friend, Sam, who is a Vet Tech student and Vet Assistant at a local Animal Hospital. We discuss how things went at the show. However, our main focus is on vet etiquette, things that every dog owner should do when taking their animal to a vet, some breed generalities, and many other random things. In this episode we are solely utilizing our opinions and just having an informal conversation with a microphone involved.

Raw Tidbit 8 - Breed Community In this Raw Tidbit we cover what Breed Community is, some examples of what we have experienced and heard about. We also cover what are good things to have in a breed community. The most important thing that we talk about is how we must all work together to keep the sport of dog shows and the dog species alive. Episode 14 - Icelandic Sheepdog This spunky herding dog from Iceland is classified as a popular breed in our rare breed/popular breed pattern. This is Iceland’s only native dog breed and has been around from centuries. Raw Tidbit 6 - Dating and Dog Shows We discuss dating etiquette at dog shows. We include some pitfalls to avoid, some things that must be done, and general things that are unique to dating someone who is involved in dog shows. We also discuss children at shows and how the spouse can help assist the other spouse by helping make sure that the children are having as much fun as possible but not stressing out people.

Episode 13 - Extinct Breeds Part 1 In this episode, we focus on the breeds tat have already gone extinct. We focus on a subset of extinct breeds and we will cover more extinct breeds later. This is a rough subject to cover so we need to break it up. Unlike breeds that still exist, the information that we found is all over the place, including Wikipedia and a rough google search. If we missed anything bout the extinct breeds that we covered in this episode, please let us know.

Raw Tidbit 5 - Nutrition Nutrition is essential in having a healthy dog. We are not nutritionists but we are giving information that has work well with our dogs.
