Hoarding can be an overwhelming and sometimes dangerous disorder. In this episode we tackle the issue and provide advice and guidance on how to handle this very challenging situation especially with an aging loved one. Hoarding can cause tripping hazards, lack of egress, poor air quality and other health hazards and can make older adults even more vulnerable to respiratory issues, injury or worse. We will also explore downsizing and how a change of address can alleviate hoarding and health issues and promote a new lease on life.

Choosing the right nursing home for a loved one can be a challenge. Asking the right questions are essential to the search. But one question often overlooked is the ownership status as a non-profit or for-profit nursing home. This podcast shares some of the advantages non-profits can provide.

Unlike many other states, Pennsylvania provides two very similar yet different levels of care most often serving for older adults. Known as Assisted Living Residences and Personal Care Homes, these two services are often misunderstood and confused for one another, even after state legislation began licensing them separately in 2011.
