What about struggling to recall the exact word you want to use to articulate a concept? In today's episode, we're breaking down the difference between what's typical for the aging brain (aka what you shouldn't be worried about) and what's considered a sign of mild cognitive impairment or even Alzheimer's. The strangeness of these vases cannot be overstated. They're hewn out of some of the hardest stones known to man with micron precision. Mathematical relationships like pi, phi, and the flower of life are encoded in their construction. And they are OLD. Some have been found in tombs that date back to 6000 BC, more than three thousand years before the peak of Egyptian civilization. When they are discovered, it is always among other vases that *look* similar, but lack the precision and fine workmanship, or are made from softer stone. It is as if they are prized heirlooms, passed along through the generations, from a people whose ability to work stone (at the very least) rivals ours - but who are completely missing from the archaeological record. Who were these people? Why did they make these vases? What else were they doing? We sit down with Ben to unravel the story. We spend so much time focusing on how exercise changes our bodies - burning calories, building muscle, shedding fat. What if the most important transformation is happening where you can't see it? Hidden inside your skull, your brain is changing with every step, squat, and sprint. Neuroscientist Dr. Wendy Suzuki has spent years uncovering how movement rewires the brain. As a professor at NYU and an expert in neuroplasticity, Wendy's research reveals how aerobic exercise boosts memory, sharpens focus, and even builds a protective barrier against dementia. In this episode, Wendy explains what happens inside your brain when you move, why it's never too late to strengthen your mind, and the powerful ways exercise can slow brain aging. You'll discover simple, science-backed habits - including her own brain-boosting routine - to help you stay mentally sharp for years to come.

He founded Wizard OT in 2020 to provide a truly person-centered approach to therapy. At the core of their approach is the idea that each person should be treated as an individual. By considering each person's biological, psychological and social needs, they provide a tailored approach to improving every client's wellbeing. They don't assume to know ahead of time what is best for their clients, and instead, work with the individual, their family and their wider network to create an intervention. In 2010, Gavin suffered a serious head injury that left him physically and cognitively impaired. The injury made simple tasks hard and required some basic skills to be relearnt. Progress was slow and hard-won but with time, support and consistent effort, he was able to make a full recovery. The experience of having his life turned upside down by a debilitating impairment has informed everything Gavin has done throughout his career, as it is the fire that drives him to help others.Find Gavin at- https://www.wizardot.com/IG- @wizard_otFind Boundless Body at- myboundlessbody.com Book a session with us here!

In this episode, my guest is Dr. Ellen Langer, Ph.D., professor of psychology at Harvard University and the world's leading researcher on the mind-body connection and the power our thinking has on our physical health. She explains how specific ways of framing and asking questions about the world shape our physical health and rate of aging. Dr. Langer also explains how our perception of time and control significantly impact our rate of physical healing, hormones, immune system, and longevity. She describes mindfulness as a way of framing life, not simply a meditation or other practice, and discusses data showing how to use one's mind to overcome health challenges and achieve remarkable outcomes. Dr. Langer is a luminary and pioneer in researching the relationship between the mind and body with scientific rigor. Her work and our discussion are applicable to women and men of all ages and walks of life. Read the full episode show notes at hubermanlab.com. Four very different and very interesting tales this week! Dan kicks us off with a story somewhere in west Texas that centers around some Black Eyed Children. MAYBE. If not BEK, than what? Then, a second story that is set in two different locations in South Carolina, that both claim to be haunted, and both share the same name: The Rose Hill Plantation. Lynze has two very unique tales this week. Her first explores vulture culture briefly and lost time and space amongst friends. What kind of chaos can you expect when exploring dead carcasses? Wrapping it up, the last tale is of astral projection. Such a heady concept that both Dan and Lynze have musings on.
